  1. Check the battery condition. A low bttery will not produce enough amps to load up the coils. If it's turning over very slow, it take an act of god to get it to catch. Charge the battery completely and see if that doesn't help. Also remember that the stator will not put out any charge until the rpm is up around 2500. At idle a battery will discharge only. Since the motor runs OK when the RPMs are up, I bet this is the problem. Maybe a new battery is in your future.
  2. Yeah sure...wink..wink.. he couldn't delete the auction, but could raise the price...
  3. Seems kinda bulky to be pulling behind a scoot, plus a dry weight of 250#'s isn't what I'd call lite. By the time you pack it with gear it's going to be hard to stop... Plus I bet your KPG drops like a rock....
  4. That looks scary. Especially the part where is says if you screw up your computor don't come crying to us. I think this is more than Vic or I want to get into. I think it's going to be business as usual and drop this matter...
  5. Me thinks, of this bike, The Owl knows ..... A member???
  6. Just looking at this '83 on Ebay and noticed the vin# doesn't compute. #50. According to all the service manuals the numbers start at #100, and this is the first one I've seen under that. 270751434135
  7. Oh Geeze!!..... Thought I was going to be able fly under the radar this time around... No such luck... Due to piling up so many birthdays, I decided to have a 'Not-Birthday', skip the whole thing, and save on the candle cost. But.... thanks for all the best wishes.. youse guys are great!!!
  8. WOW!!! Never thought I'd be jealous over a bike, but.....
  9. That hidden file may be it?? I did have Vic delete my address from his book and then re-enter it using the right click>add to book feature off one of my incoming. He may have typed the address in manually but not sure. Outlook Express has the same auto complete feature. Any idea where the file is located??
  10. I don't think it's the firewall/virus checker or my email wouldn't be getting to the inbox???
  11. As far as I know yes... Although the junk folder is for incoming email, and that's not the problem.
  12. It just disappears somewhere between his computor and his ISP. He's contacted his ISP and they say they see nothing wrong. That's why I think it's in his OUTLOOK programing. I initially thought it might be me except I receive his ISP email.
  13. New email too....
  14. I thought of that and did a lot of stuff like having Vic delete my address out of his book and then re-enter it. All 4 of them..... None of them worked except when using his ISP mailer. It's in his program somewhere. AND I don't know what release he has?? Maybe he'll chime in here???
  15. Lone Eagle and I have had this email problem for several months now and haven't been able to figure out what causes it. I can send or forward emails to Vic, and he receives them just fine, but when he tries to reply using OUTLOOK..not Outlook Express.. the reply disappears into cyber space. He can go to his ISP email account and send me a copy email and I get it.. no problem. So it seems to be a problem somewhere between his local OUTLOOK program and his ISP, and it's a PITA. BTW all other email addresses go through fine. Does anyone know what might cause this?? I thought I might be on the 'bad guy' list, but he's checked that out, and I'm not. I use Outlook Express, and don't have a clue about Outlook controlls.
  16. Have you looked at the Nolan flips? The 102N in 2xl might be worth a peek.... It's an older style. I think Nolan accidently threw out the 2xl mold on the newer styles as they run 2 sizes under normal. I have 3 of the 100N's in 2xl, and they fit great. Not so the 1002lite in 2xl. BRAIN SQUEEZE!!!!!
  17. In '09 I rode the '83 over BearTooth Pass and it didn't miss a beat.... 11,000 feet
  18. Nothing like a good old reverse bleed......
  19. I guess so. When I went to your link and poked around I found a listing that said the attachment was an accessory. Now I can't find it.
  20. It comes with the mount Carl, but the attachment is sold seperatly.... Looking at the bars it looks like there isn't any room left to mount a clamp. I think that's why Kuryakyn designed the tank door system. I bought one of those grill mounts and it looked like if you hit a hard pot hole you'd be missing a couple of bars in that grill and maybe the GPS. So I retired it to the 'stuff' box....
  21. Kuryakyn makes a fuel cover mount for Harleys. Kinda pricy, but looks good. There's one on Ebay # 250820671343 http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqJ,!g4E2eSfR,RoBNwgv36SQg~~_12.JPG Also found this one # 180667730573 http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqYOKnME2eJzG-P-BN0GuIQjqw~~_12.JPG Looks like the same one only cheaper...
  22. Since you don't want to hear anyone but the group, crank it up.
  23. Hate to differ with you Goose, and I don't want to get into a pissing contest, but what I posted stands. I've been messing with CB radios for damn near 50 years... know a little about atmospheric skip, running illegal linears, and trucking. Normal CB transmissions are line of sight, to the horizon. Buildings will effect performance. You say it has a problem, I don't. Let's leave it at that.
