Ponch has been making center stands for 2ndGens. He built one for me and then I ran into a Rivco on Ebay for cheap. Sold the 'Ponch' to another member.

In all this 'neener..neener' about the speeds of different Venture colors, notice the Golds don't jump into the fray very often...if at all. That's because they don't need to broadcast about how fast they are... They quietly know that nothing else can keep up, and are comfortable in that knowledge......

I saw that. Pretty groady. Probably off a salved bike. It wasn't one of ours and don't think it was a Super either. At least not one I've ever seen.

Groan.....

Just shipped the last one out of the last batch of 10 I ordered. If we can get 2 or 3 more 1stGens interested I'll pick up another 10. Stay tuned.... :cody

Betcha ya can't say that three times real fast....

I've ridden the '83 (first venture) on several long distance rides. The longest being about 600 miles and 11 hours, several in the 400-500 mile range. I personally have always liked the way it sat, and it was comfortable to me. With the pegs beneath my butt and the highways out front it gave me a lot of different riding positions. The full fairing gave a lot of protection at high speed. I miss the old girl. My son's riding her now and loves it. :cody

Shucks, looks like you can add me to the failed ignition switch list...

Well I really poured over this thread, and planned on installing a by-pass per instructions. Then I ran across a new OEM ignition switch on Ebay. 4XY-82501-11. At least that's what the bag says.. I don't know if it will work on a '99, but for $36 bucks total to the door, what the heck. The key is certainly cool looking... I'll just toss it into one of the saddle bags and hope I never have to install it... -
Inputs for hard start condition

I've used CRC Carb Cleaner in the past. Works great. RPM's increase when a leak is located. -
Years ago Seagrams had a Crown Royal that was for Canadians sales only.. not to be exported. I had a buddy who went moose hunting in Canada every year and always smuggled a couple of cases back home with him. Talk about smooth.... I don't drink much now so I'm out of the loop as to what's available. However I don't think you'll find CC and Ginger in a can in the US... You never know what those Canucks will do....

I've been nursing a bum right knee for about a year... busted it up swinging a leg over the scoot last summer.... I'd been putting off doing anything hoping that it would heel up by itself. Yesterday it got so bad I couldn't even walk on it. Damn it hurt. So off to the Docs I go this morning. Torn miniscus. A shot of cortizone cocktail and I'm mobile again. I may need an operation to clean things out of there. The Doc kinda hesitated about recommending the op untill I asked him if my name were Joe Montana would it make a difference... Gotta go mow the lawn now....

Inputs for hard start condition

Check the battery condition. A low bttery will not produce enough amps to load up the coils. If it's turning over very slow, it take an act of god to get it to catch. Charge the battery completely and see if that doesn't help. Also remember that the stator will not put out any charge until the rpm is up around 2500. At idle a battery will discharge only. Since the motor runs OK when the RPMs are up, I bet this is the problem. Maybe a new battery is in your future. -
Yeah sure...wink..wink.. he couldn't delete the auction, but could raise the price...

Seems kinda bulky to be pulling behind a scoot, plus a dry weight of 250#'s isn't what I'd call lite. By the time you pack it with gear it's going to be hard to stop... Plus I bet your KPG drops like a rock....
-
That looks scary. Especially the part where is says if you screw up your computor don't come crying to us. I think this is more than Vic or I want to get into. I think it's going to be business as usual and drop this matter...

Just looking at this '83 on Ebay and noticed the vin# doesn't compute. #50. According to all the service manuals the numbers start at #100, and this is the first one I've seen under that. 270751434135

That hidden file may be it?? I did have Vic delete my address from his book and then re-enter it using the right click>add to book feature off one of my incoming. He may have typed the address in manually but not sure. Outlook Express has the same auto complete feature. Any idea where the file is located??

I don't think it's the firewall/virus checker or my email wouldn't be getting to the inbox???

As far as I know yes... Although the junk folder is for incoming email, and that's not the problem.
