  1. Or bring it to Cody for the International raffle... 'Course if it's in in/lbs???....Dibs... :cody
  2. Yeah Man!! That's what I'da thought they'd come with.... Builds confidence....
  3. I didn't even notice.....
  4. Thanks for the feedback James. It sure doesn't look like the clamp has enough height to hold anything up, but I'll take your word for it. The straps are a good idea.... just because...
  5. I've been looking at the pics of the ramp, and I gotta ask. What's keeping the bike upright. That clamp can't do it, can it?? I'd think there'd be something like a front wheel chock to keep the bike up???? BTW I just received a 'Super Coupon' flyer in the mail with the price of $299. I hoped the 20% off coupon could be used with it, but reading the fine print it can't.... Dang!!
  6. The best source I've found is Ebay, and patients. Just when you find something make sure it's not still available thru Y. Luckily the previous owner put a lot of bling on the bike. I made a list of the aftermarket and VentureLine stuff that had been installed.. I'm sure I missed a couple of things.. and the total came to almost $5 grand. More than I paid for the bike... Whew!!
  7. Nice job Dave.... :cody
  8. This should help a bit... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=505
  9. Where ya going??
  10. Yep, I bet it probably does slow it down a little.....
  11. We have a cork screw system right off the coast, like I've never seen before, dousing us with fluids like a pigmy that drank too much beer.... Glad I have a boat out back.... :cody
  12. Yeah I've seen Nina's wave.... 'bout a million times. Around here they call it the 'Campball Wave'...
  13. Very hard to beat that Leica Aspherical wide angle Lens.... Just saying that if anyone wants an awesome camera for a decent price, here it is.... Another nice thing is the shipping is only $5 bucks. No sales tax unless you live in Texas and they have a sales tax?? Sure you can find cheaper, but I doubt you can beat the quality of the pic. You get what you pay for...
  14. The reason the 'Wave' tradition started in the first place was back in the day it wasn't all that common to pass another rider while out and about, so you acknowledged one another. Now-a-days if you wave at every bike you'll get waver's elbow..... :cody
  15. I own one of these cameras and it is one of the best point and shoot cameras I've ever had the pleasure of using, and I've used thousands.... This one would make anyone coming to Cody a great photographer.... It's only for today (6/5/11) so if you're interested hop on it. http://www.woot.com/ http://sale.images.woot.com/Panasonic_12MP_Digital_Camera_with_Leica_12x_Optical_Zoom___HD_VideouqlStandard.jpg :cody
  16. I think that's Tom Bodet who's keeping the light on for ya.......
  17. I try to wave most of the time. Sometimes they wave back...sometimes they don't. No big deal. The one I remember most was the solo rider going west in Nevada on I-80 waving both arms above his head at us as we traveled east. I had to respond in same. There must have been 200 yards of sand and sage brush between the east bound/west bound lanes. Brought a smile to an otherwise boring ride. And yes he was riding a Harley... In '09 I trailered the bike to Cody, and again out in the badlands of Nevada I was passed by a group of 6 Harley riders in one of those really tight formations. Scary, but it did look cool. Every one of them waved at this old guy dragging his bike down the highway. They didn't have to, but did anyway. Probably taking pity on an old man...
  18. I've used Valvoline 20-50 MC Specific oil in the past during the hot summers. Worked great and really quited the motor down. Check to see if it's labeled 'wet clutch' or friction modified...
  19. Good thinking Herb. It's something I do on cars, but never gave it a thought on a 25+ year old scoot.
  20. I think Annie gave her 'twike' to Alan to ride after she bought the new Harley Trike. Alan may have removed it?? They are at MD and will be at Cody. Never hurts to ask...
  21. When I bought the '99 the P.O. said the rear shock had been replaced under warantee and I figured the shock failure thing had been taken care of. Then I started reading here about multiple failures. Dang!! So I started searching Ebay for NOS RSV shocks. Figured it would never hurt to have a spare for the next time. Especially at the price they were getting for new OEM's. Found a like new shock off a trike conversion for $70 bucks, then ran into another used with 16,000 miles on it for $35 bucks. Cleaned up really well. So now I have a life time supply... my life time.-not the bikes... of shocks, and I promiss not to go after any more on Ebay. They're all yours.....
  22. Isn't that what annie did to her RSV Trike?? http://www.venturerider.org/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=2195
