Sometimes when I get a stuburn carb I'll hand cover the venturi and crank it a half dozen times. Usually creates enough vacuum to suck any obstruction out of the jet.... if that's the problem??

Pull the carb bowl and un-jamb the float valve. There's probably has a ton of crud in bowl.

Same thing on the 1stGen side. A few may have sold, but I think what's happening is when they receive their email notices to renew or mark sold, they are not getting nibbles... and have decided to keep it, and picked the sold option....

Life span of a spark plug?
Condor replied to Snaggletooth's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I usually toss a new set of plugs in every year in the spring. They're cheap enough so it's not that big of a deal... -
The VR Chili Challenge is alive and well at the POKE.... Now all you have to do is match the number of pics taken at Cody so we all that can't be there can enjoy the happening vicariously.. Heck I'll even go out and pick up a rack of ribs at Sam's...

YICS and the Jason mode
Condor replied to mmaleney's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I couldn't tell any difference in performance or gas milage between the Jason and not. But..... I liked the 'lope' produced by the Jason so kept it connected... -
I'm with the 'IN' crowd rather than the 'ON' crowd. But.... I bet a custom cold molded fiberglass removable box would look really cool on this one.....

Not sure what mine is, but I know have full 100/300 coverage on both bikes, and I think the medical is 5000 per individual. Between my hospitalization policy, homeowners policy, supplimental policy, and my MC policy, I'm comfortable with my coverage. The key here is to have underinsured coverage. Un(x)insured won't help you a lot if the other driver is at fault and he doesn't have insurance or 15/30 minium coverage.......

I know we all want to help, and are feeling emotionally helpless, but this may be a bit premature. Let's give it some time to find out what is really needed before starting something like this....

If your mechanic is saying you need carb boots because the ones you have now are showing signs of cracking, he may not speak Venture very well... The boots all show signs of cracking, but the cracks don't go all the way thru and cause a vacuum leak. There is a steel sleave in the boot wall. It's a little disconcerting, but I have never heard of one leaking...

With the trailer loaded up it's going to be a lot heavier than you'd expect. One of these puppys might help a bit. http://imageserv8.team-logic.com/store-logic/products/5/7393/st_7023.jpg

Did you know that if you tie the lever all the way to the grip it's vertually impossible for any air to excape into the reserve as the piston cup even seals off the expansion hole. It would actually work better if the lever were left alone, and the air could at least get to the expansion hole.... It also helps to have the wheel turned hard right....
