Not sure what mine is, but I know have full 100/300 coverage on both bikes, and I think the medical is 5000 per individual. Between my hospitalization policy, homeowners policy, supplimental policy, and my MC policy, I'm comfortable with my coverage. The key here is to have underinsured coverage. Un(x)insured won't help you a lot if the other driver is at fault and he doesn't have insurance or 15/30 minium coverage.......

I know we all want to help, and are feeling emotionally helpless, but this may be a bit premature. Let's give it some time to find out what is really needed before starting something like this....

If your mechanic is saying you need carb boots because the ones you have now are showing signs of cracking, he may not speak Venture very well... The boots all show signs of cracking, but the cracks don't go all the way thru and cause a vacuum leak. There is a steel sleave in the boot wall. It's a little disconcerting, but I have never heard of one leaking...

clutch bleeding air bubble extravaganza

Sent you a PM. -
With the trailer loaded up it's going to be a lot heavier than you'd expect. One of these puppys might help a bit. http://imageserv8.team-logic.com/store-logic/products/5/7393/st_7023.jpg

Did you know that if you tie the lever all the way to the grip it's vertually impossible for any air to excape into the reserve as the piston cup even seals off the expansion hole. It would actually work better if the lever were left alone, and the air could at least get to the expansion hole.... It also helps to have the wheel turned hard right....

OK since we're brainstormin' here. What type plug wires are you using, and when you plugged them into the caps and coils did you make really sure that the center pins made contact with the center core??? -
Sent you a PM Dan. Not much of a secret. I've posted it on the site before, but it seems no one pays any attention, and insist they know better?? Now I just PM those who are having problems, and it seems to work out better.

Stock shock verses Works for Second Gen
Condor replied to TonyLudwick's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
There's a new WORKS shock listed on Ebay right now. It's a buy it now at retail so I think they are just using Ebay for cheap advertising exposure. My question would be... Since the shock is set up for the riders weight, what happens when riding 2 up. Seems to me that the shock is more suitable for a dual set up where it's accessable to adjust. Once it's installed on a 2ndGen it would be a PITA getting to it. Plus the price is way too much. I've seen mention of aftermarket 2ndGen shocks for much less. -
I used to run Odysseys in my first gens.... actually set up a group buy on them several years ago....but have since switched over to Dekas. The Deka has a little higher cc rating, but the big differences are... they are the same foot print as the OEM Yuasa, and they cost less. Another reason for the change was I had some warantee issues on early failures with the Odysseys. So for all of the above reasons I changed paddles. MOF I still have a couple of PC680's sitting in the corner of the office. I keep them around for project bikes. Put a top off charge in them every 6 months or so. They don't lose much sitting. On the Deka, it's one tough battery. I ran from Sacramento Ca to Thermopolis Wy... 3 days... on just the battery. Rectifier problems. I think I might have made it to Cody if I hadn't turned on my driving lights for about 50 miles on a 2 lane high speed back road. The thing show'd 8.9 volts on the meter when the bike died. I've never had one show that low of a reading.... ever. Put it on my charger in Cody, and I'm now running it in the bike again. There are several sources for Dekas on the web. I get mine from Bohannon,..about $85 bucks... but another member found them for even less after shopping around. I'll stick with Bohannon since they've given me great service....

If all the lights are LED's, and your Piggy Backer is a 5 wire trailer, just wire it in directly... I just wired up my 5 wire trailer using an isolater, but consensus among the guys was that I might not have needed it, but had standard tungstons. The @ndGen wires are located under the riders seat on the left side next to the aux power connection. Get ahold of Dano with any questions. He did mine....

I'm going to PM you a little write up that may save you a bunch of trouble getting that clutch bled.

Glad to hear it made it across the pond OK Abbe,.... and that you like the results. They should have made the brace standard issue on 1stGens. Probably the best bang for the buck a first gen'r can install.

I went down and bought a set of small needle nosed pliers from Harbor Frieght... around $5 bucks. Then notched the straight needle on the tips to work on that clip. It also helps to press the piston shaft down and stick a small pin into the supply hole to hold it. Gives a lot more room to work. Attached are some pics of the pliers and tips.
