Just like down here.... eh??

This I gotta see.... 'Course how long of a grade are you talking about.... :rotf:

Servicing the clutch on a 2ndGen RSV is an out of sight out of mind thing since the master sight glass is hidden behind the audio control cluster and the #1 fin cover needs to be removed to get to the bleeder. So it's put off til next time more often than not. I'm personally not aware of any clutch failures at 40,000 miles on an RSV clutch that has been serviced regularly. I am aware of owners mistakenly using friction modified oil in the engine causing slipping.,, Another cause.... Just to say it's slipping... and it's time to rebuild the clutch... seems to me like a waste of time and money since there are other places to look before spending the bucks. The only thing good about rebuilding the clutch pack is it's the easiest major repair that can be done to the bike.

I think it comes down to that quote from P.T. Barnum.....???
-
You've got a heck of a bike to be pulling mountain grades in 5th gear... with a trailer.. I'm not saying it isn't... if the clutch is fubar, but... bleed the clutch first and save yourself some money... There are a lot of things that can cause clutch slippage, and most are easlily and cheaply fixed. Rebuild as a last resort.... not the first....

Bleed the clutch before going for the juggler... Chances are very good the clutch has never been bled, and bleeding will cure the slipping.... At 34,000 miles the clutch is not worn out and the spring is still good.

Travel bag pouch mounting screw nuts

It's small... maybe that's why it's special??? Anyway if you take off all the acorns the 'L' bracket will lift off and you can get to the back side of that twist lock. As long as you leave everything else screwed down it should go back together easily.... There's no way in 'H' that you can get to it otherwise... Good Luck.... -
That was the excuse back in the days when the Canadian/US dollar exchange rate tilted toward the US. Now that the Loony is the heavy weight, what's the reason for high prices???

That feature is on a PM. Probably be easy to do it in the forum?? 'Nother thing. When editing one of our posts the system takes you to a 'basic' editor, and you have to go to another advanced if you want to get fauncy. Why can't it just take you to the advanced editor from the git'go??? Don???

It's possible for the battery amps to get low enough to not fully recharge the coils and get a weak spark and poor ignition. Charge the batt and see if the bike still stumbles. If it does, change the plugs. Don't hold me to this, but I think I read somewhere that it takes a 45 minute ride to replace the amps used to turn the starter over.

This is just a thought.... but how about Winipeg Ca?? Centralized... cooler...Looks like there's a couple of day rides...

The stock springs do have a tight coil at one end and sometimes they are mistaken for Progressives, but the big difference is the size of the coils. Much heavier in the Pro's... Gimme a shout when you want to get a brace...

And if you need one we have fork braces available...

Scary new problem

Sounds like you've pulled out the helicoil you put in the last time.... It might not have fit perfectly in the threads you taped. You could drill out the hole a bit and install another. Even in SAE. Maybe 1/4x20?? Another thought... You might try using J-B weld around the original 6mm screw. If the inside walls of the hole are rough it may allow enough bite to snug down on the screw a bit after it sets?? Most of these 6mm hex caps say 10ftlbs of torque... which is about a little over hand snug. -
That's a heck of a price on Amazon, but..... will it interface with a 2ndGen audio system somehow, or just GPS's and Cell's?? And how thick are those speakers??

Made a wrong turn out of Victorville Ca and ended up on Rt66 for about 50 miles up toward Mojave. They still had the 66 chevron painted on the road every 10 miles or so. Kinda cool!! Always thought about doing the whole things someday, but those days are slipping away for me.... Very glad I made that wrong turn..... http://califrt66museum.org/ http://www.google.com/url?source=imglanding&ct=img&q=http://route66.backroadsplanet.com/images/route66map8.gif&sa=X&ei=3JpbTuOeKILmiALHp6GdCQ&ved=0CAUQ8wc&usg=AFQjCNFHOmGMABul0OIuRR_3AzghOZWMGw

Cut the heel toe and made just a toe shifter
Condor replied to muaymendez1's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
With my clod hoppers the heel was always getting stepped on. I installed one of the Venture Lines toe/toe and now I have room to move my feet all over the place on a long ride. I can ride with my toes on the back of the floor board all the way up to putting the heel on the front of the board and my toe on the highway pegs. It sure makes it more comfortable when spending hours in the saddle. BTW nice job on the mod... -
I'm curious. Since you know about Pledge why are you looking for something else?? I've cleaned a lot of bugs, off a lot of difference windshields with Pledge, and have never gotten any type of 'halo' effect...just as long as a micro fiber towel is used to clean it off. Are you saying that after using pledge you get a 'halo'??
