Dang Puc!! I gotta admit I have bought a few new things in the last 40 years, but you can probably count them on one hand. The last car was a new '79 VDub Rabbit (40-50mpg) for about 6 grand that I wore out traveling on the road before I decided to work for myself and keep all the profits... Ever since, I've lived in a cash world. I haven't made a loan payment in 40 years. I do have a couple of credit cards that I now use for online purchases, but they get paid off every month... so no interest... :-) I do a lot of auctions, and own lots of 'stuff'. My kids call me a hoarder... But it's good stuff. I throw lots of junk away... When I look around in the house it's hard to find anything that I bought new. Maybe one or two items... that's it.. But I can relate to everything you wrote. Even the part about the mind still thinking it's young and the bod telling you it's not.... I like Water World too....

Remote battery life
Condor replied to RonK's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
If it's anything like the remote for my '06 Titan it's still going strong after 13 years... -
Same thing happened to my 99RSV. Rode it home from the Cody International and parked it. I started it a couple of times but never rode it for another year, but was having big health issues. It sat for another 2 years during colon surgery recovery, and when I tried to fire it up the throttle wouldn't even twist. The carbs were so bad I never did get them free'd up. And believe me I tried everything... Finally had to replace them with a another set. Good luck with yours....

If you have any bits and pieces laying around fill a glass jar with acetone and toss them in and put the lid back on. Keep doing it and eventually you'll end up with a dandy slurry for ABS repair. If it get's too thick, add acetone. We can all thank Fred Vogt for this one.... The old timers know who he is.. How's that for creativity??

Way too many guns... Surprised the 1911's were passed.. Must have had a reserve?? Nice planes... When I was a kid... yes I was a kids once...I think.. My next door neighbor used to build plane models from scratch right down to the smallest detail... A few years ago.. pre-cell phone.. I traveled down to Salinas airport to buy some boating equipment, and had car trouble. Stopped a business to use their phone to call AAA and was in for a treat. In their warehouse/hanger were about five P51 Mustangs in various stages of restoration. If they couldn't find a part they made another exactly as original. Turns out they were the go-to P51 restorer in the world. Amazing place. Wish I'd had a camera. Maybe this is one of their planes?? Now who has time to read all the descriptions when they've got their head in the sewer....??

Tourmaster Advanced Jacket review- nice jacket.

Main Street Sturgis!!.... -
Dang!! For me they just put me under and did what they needed to do. I was out cold and didn't care.. :-). Last thing I remember is listening to Zydeco music... They found the tumor and I don't remember passing any gas in recovery?? I just got a call from the Gastrology dept that I'm due for a 5 year check up, so they're going in again.... Looking at sometime in April.. I'll ask for Zydeco again. Probably the only guy that likes that stuff.... Must be the Cajun in me?? :-)

Tourmaster Advanced Jacket review- nice jacket.
Condor replied to VentureFar's topic in Watering Hole
I've had Tourmasters and a First Gear Mesh.. I think that was the brand.... but the best jacket for the long haul is an Armored Textile Power Trip in black. When riding I wore it all year round no matter what the temp. It used to have a liner but that got misplaced long ago. Now when the temps drop I use a hoodie. Keeps me warm and toasty. Beside the liners are a PITA zipping in... During the summer heat the jacket has air flow zippers on the arms and down the back. Air will flow 'gently' thru and keep me cool even tho it's black. I did wear a mesh across Nevada once in 100+ temps, and I wicked moisture so fast I couldn't keep hydrated. Took three days to get back to normal. Can't recommend a mesh to anyone.... But that's just me and trying to use a little common sense... -
Yep, I thought about that too, when Yamerdan had his accident. Hop on a trike and overcoming everything you've built into your motorskills over many years on two wheels and it'll get you into trouble very quick. Takes a different mindset...and time in the saddle...

The title to this thread is 'when did you know'..... ~The time to trike the scoot~. The best advice I can pass on is do it before you think you need it. Lots of things come into play and the longer you keep putting it off, the less use you're going to get out of your investment. So if you even give it a passing thought... that's the time. Keep putting it off and by the time it really becomes a neccessity it's too late. Age wise it's probably when you turn 65. I know a lot of you will go Arg..Arg..Arg!!, and say not me. But believe me when you hit that 70 year 'wall' everything starts going down hill. No one lives forever and father time takes his toll. In my case I kept doing the summer long distance rides, and each time I'd say it was my last hurrah. Then I'd be back doing another the next summer.. Repeating the declaration... By the time I got around to trikeing a scoot it was too late and now it sits. Bad knee, heart attacks, bad back, colon surgery, plus the mental desire to CTFW. Although I do have a nice cane collection started... :-) LOL.... I'm 77, soon to be 78, and lately all I can think about is making it around the block this summer on the trike.

Hey Slowroller.. Yep I planed on putting one on my 7mm also, and one on my 338RUM as well. They do have 30mm tubes. Here's a video on the scope and they get into the reticle pretty quick.. Found a better video than the first one I posted. If you're interested give me a shout... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7f5u02WnbyM

I don't have anything new... I can't afford it. Picked up 5 Nikon Black X1000 6-24x50 60moa Long range rifle scopes at an auction. In the world of LR scopes it's not the cheapest, but I think it's the best bang for the buck available. And it's hard to beat Nikon glass quality... So, $2000 bucks later I'm .... The ironic part about it is I only wanted 2... :-) Gotta stop raising that damn paddle...:whistling::whistling:

Thanks for the Video. That looks like a cure-all for those pesky diaphragms.... But...keep it a secret and don't tell anyone, and we can buy those cheap non-op carb banks off eBay... :-) -

Unfortunately the Judge is illegal here in Komiefornia... Never heard anyone complain about recoil pre-roster... There are some available on the used market, but none can be imported into the state... We're working on getting rid of the roster...

Not much info on the Ruger Craig, but I did find this on Gun Auction... Seems a bit low, but with the advent of the 5.56/223 the popularity of the 222 Rem has faded. I have a 222 Rem in a Remington Model 7 that generally sells in the $600-$650 range... I don't think there's much merit in a Cartech Anniversary unless you work for the company?? However... Ruger is a caliber whore. Collecting Rugers will drive you nutz! I went thru 6 or 7 pages of different 77 models and couldn't find any listing for one in 222R.. 223..yep. 222..nada..... I did see a few older models in 22 Hornet?? Hope this helps... -

There are several different Hi-Power Models. One. The Hi-Power Mark III, in 40 S&W, was produced between 1994-2000, and in 100% condition is worth $850-$950. They also list a 'practical' ca. 1993-model for about $100 less. In the middle of the S/N there are two letters that designate the year is was built. Seems like the N series were built the 90's. Post the letters and I'll get back to you with the exact year... Another place to get values...or at least what sellers are asking to be taken with a grain of salt... is GunBroker. Actually because you fired it it lost a little of it's value, but there are a lot of collectors out there who would love to add it to their collection... Hope this helps...
