    It should have only messed up the pan. I'm not sure if a 1stGen and 2ndGen are the same pan, but it sure would help if they are. There aren't that many 'busted' 2gen motors around yet... Good luck.

    Interesting mount. I think I'd add a spring line from the middle of the pole to somewhere around the back seat, or the luggage rack if on an RSV.... Otherwise nice job!!

    Well that worked out great... Daughter delivered 5 cans of Sea Foam to me this afternoon. $28 bucks with tax. I didn't even need to get out of the recliner.....

    False alarm Jay. I had a box of stuff from a dash that I had dismantled, and I did find the tach etc.... but no speedo. I must have sent it to someone else??? Sorry. Maybe somebody on the board has one laying around??

    This is just a thought, but if the oil smells like gas, check the level of the oil in the crank. Raw gas can be leaking down into the engine oil from a stuck float in a carb causing the level to rise and the crank to overflow??? Smell the oil in the engine to see if it is 'gasious'....

    LOL... I still tell the kids the story about getting a large combo pizza, a quart of Par-T-Pak soda, and go to a drive-in movie... for less that $5 bucks... Also when I packed up the 53 Ford, left L.A., and headed to Denver U my last tank of gas ran 19 9/10 a gallon. Had a heart attack when I heard gas was 36/9 in Colorado.... Yikes!!!

    Yeah it's old but just like me it should still fire. Lotsa calibers. 7x57, 25-06, 243, 270, 264 mag, 300 savage, 44mag, 222rem, 5.56 ball, Western X Shot shells... etc. Also a couple of Remington Mod.742 270 4 round clips. Only 2 rounds of '06... I'm going to put it on The Cal Gun board and see if I can get rid of it to a collector maybe?? I used to own a custom 264mag but it got legs when I wasn't paying attention. There's about 3 boxes of the 264... Dang!! Pretty cheap gas....
