Does the '96 have the same set up as a first gen with a drain valve?? If it does it may be turned on and by-passing the thermostat???

I've also found that some ACE Hardwares carry a lot of sizes in SS Metric if you need it right now, but cost a lot more for the convenience.......

Condor replied to t-man's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Didn't I read somewhere that the 2ndGen shift cluster will fit in the 1stGens and the dowels are permanent??? Or am I halucinating again??? -
Looks cool, but how do you get it to raise up?? I don't think the HB version is air assist...

Hoping this won't go polical... but KFBK 1530/FOXNEWS is AM.....

If you like antiques, and have 20 minutes to spare, take a look at these videos. Unbelievable that someone could amass, or even find that much stuff in a lifetime... The auction is coming up next weekend. I just wanna know how they're gonna do it in 3 days??? Did you catch the '41 4-cylinder Indian?? Why won't this thing run?!
Condor replied to john83's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
If you can get it to turn over, and fire, pour a whole can of SeaFoam into a full tank of fresh fuel. See if you can get it to run enough to get the mix through the carb bowls. Then let it sit overnight and see if it'll run a little bit better in the next day. I bet it'll get progressively better. I had an 83VR that sat for over 3 years outside that ran like crap when we first fired it up with the help of carb cleaner in the venturi. Did the SeaFoam and after a couple of days we were riding it.... Gave us enough time to attack the other issues that came with it. -
Ain't company perks great!!

Thanks Bob. I have everything running off the same circut... it's a remote barn shed office... Would it be possible to filter the power source like we use to do with the mobile CB's. Rotel is nice stuff, but no way I could afford it....

Well, I turned it to AM and got the humm/buzz Then turned off the office fluorescents. Bingo!! I still get a little noise between AM stations, but when I pull in a strong signal I can't hear a thing... except the station. Yes, the tuner is amp'd, and the antenna is a length of appliance power cord sorta split into a di-pole and tacked to the upright of the bookcase. Works. There is also a short.. 6".. what looks like a shorty antenna on the back of the tuner. Now here's the problem. How can I filter out the flourescent noise? Do they make flourescents tubes that are noise free?? Or would I have to replace the whole light with a different ballast?? Thanks for the ideas and help so far...

Need some advice. I just replaced my tired Kenwood analog tuner with a not so tired Pioneer digital. When I try to listen to AM signals I get a hum... or I guess feedback... in the speakers, when I go to FM it sounds fine. I've checked the +/- continuity for the speakers and they are correct. I'm no expert when it comes to messing with audio stuff, so anyone a lot smarter than me have any ideas what might cause the AM hum??

It'll take more than a winter to work on one of these... http://www.auctionsamerica.com/events/all-lots.cfm?SaleCode=LH11&Category=Motorcycles

Not really asking about vibes or hp rating... more refering to the carb linkage set up and pre-heater??...

Not bragging... Let's put it this way.. at my age I've shrunk a bunch. But I've also packed on too many extra pounds, and still can't get into a sports.. no.. 'little people's' car.

Carb Cleaning / Diaphram revelations
Condor replied to BigBear's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
That's really strange. Hope someone has an answer to this one... I'm ready to learn something.... That said, I've seen a lot of 1stGen diaphragms that look 'ugly' and they work just fine... Could maybe the other side have been replaced with thicker aftermarkets??? -
My Venture is not running - sniff.
Condor replied to camos's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
NEW BATTERY... You should be able to replace it while parked on the street with a philips screwdriver.... Pick up an AGM if available on short notice.. You may have a rectifier problem. It can show volts and not be putting out any amps... -
Now that was great way to start the day.... :rotfl:

Didn't see any mention of a remote either??

Next time you might try ordering directly off the Speed-Bleeder web site. They use padded envelopes and USPS.... Nice folks to deal with... http://www.speedbleeder.com/

Not so. My DHL package was traceable to the P.O. and it took 2 days to get there. It finally arrived in my PO Box. Any other shipper would have had it on my doorstep overnight since it's only 400 miles away. I just shipped a very large and expensive sail to Seattle via FedX regular ground. I consigned it to FedX at 13:30hrs Monday, and it arrived at 15:00hrs Wednesday. Great service, and what we expect for our customers. I would have been crazy to use DHL. The rub is that some companies bite into the lower shipping costs offered by DHL. Any system that looses it's ability to track a package consigned to them shouldn't even be allowed to be in the business. Sure some will say that they have experienced great service, but wait until an order doesn't show up in a reasonable amount of time, and and all DHL can say is it's at the P.O.. No thanks, I'll stick with USPS and FedX.....
