This may be a good reason to stick with IE 7Pro.... I've almost pulled the trigger on upgrading, now I'm glad I didn't...

Hi Kev. Yeah, with a little smoozing they should fit right behind the passenger board on the bag guard on a MKII. It looks like the top velcro will need to be cinched up pretty tight, and there's not much room between the bag and the board, so your passenger might need be aware.... The big problem will be finding a set. This is the only set I've ever seen on Ebay, and from what I can gather Hopnel has closed up shop. Maybe Nancy at ACE HIGH Leathers could pick up the ball??? They are very roomy and will hold a lot of 'stuff'....

That's what I kinda thought. Got any pics??

I'll check for fit a little later this afternoon Kev... after the fog burns off... They might fit the '90?? And they were listed as coming off a '99RSV, but that doesn't mean that they were originally made for a Venture, or may have been 'adapted'....
-
Just about any farm supply/saddlery will carry it. I've been using it for years. The '83VR had a custom leather saddle and I used it a lot.....

A few weeks ago I found a set of Hopnel accessory bags listed on Ebay. They were double ugly but I went ahead and bid on them anyway.... and I got them cheap.. After receiving them I used Farnam's Leather New on them. I wasn't sure if they were leather or nauga hide, but figured what the H.. Below are the Before and After pics. They came out pretty nice... They came off a '99RSV so now all I have to do is figure out where they were mounted??

The place is getting a lot of press lately. I just watched a segment of 'Hairy Bikers' where they rode the Dragon and had a BBQ at Deals...

My bad. I thought a XVZ13 was a Venture...
-
Don't worry about the miles, and any price under 4 grand for a clean '99 Star Venture is good. Just make sure the tires are good, and no oil leaks are visible. Figure you're going to have to change all the fluids as SOP.

I have a similar pair in chrome on my '91 mounted the same way. And... they have hi/lo beam. Haven't looked at them closely enough to find the manufacture. Not my doing.... P.O.'s
-
Since they are all adjusted the same... 3 out.. It doesn't make any difference which one you want to start with. One setting will not effect the other...

Programing looks a lot like my c50 Streetpilot only with a few more buttons and whistles. Should be a good one... On the mount make sure you have enough room on the round part of the bar. The clamp looks like it might be a little too wide. 1stGens aren't very generous with mounting area in front of the brake or clutch master.... http://www8.garmin.com/buzz/demos/1390interactive/

Here in California a vehicle has ever lasting life. Well at least 7 years. That's how long it takes before the vehicle/boat falls out of the system. The kicker is that if anyone even inquires about it during that 7 year period the clock starts all over again. All the while the vehicle is accruing fines and penalties. This is one of the big problems faced when buying a non-runing garage queen. Unless the previous owner has non-opted... yes there is light at the end of the tunnel.... the bike may cost a ton in fines, more than the bike is worth.... besides maintenence..., to get it back on the road. However if the owner was smart enough to non-op it it takes very little to get it registered. Unfortunately most let them sit and amass big bucks, and the bike becomes worthless, or a parts bike, and all it would have taken is a one time $10 fee to non-op.

This was just forwarded to me by a friend. I wanna ride it!! Too bad we can't do something like that here in the US. We have the mountains, but we also have way too many safety restrictions.... Listen, let me put it as clear as I can.... My original thought/statement was to pressurize the case or cabinet to reduce dirt and dust. Not to get into a lenghty debate on whether or not a computor will last ten years or ten seconds. That's not the point. A cleaner computor will run better than a dirty one. If you want to play 'yes but' go ahead, however this discussion is over as far as I concerned. I'm sorry it had to end this way.
