If you go with an articulating [ame]Magic Arm [/ame]you can mount the camera anywhere on the bike you have a round tube for different perspectives. Frame, crash bars, handle bars ... etc. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41q4xMCvqsL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

While poking thru my Venture Files I ran across some very cool Venture Touring Society articles. I don't even remember where I found them, but it's getting cold and for some the riding season is gone. This might give you a little fuel to keep the Venture Fire burning thru the winter. This is the first of 5 installments. Enjoy!!

Yep, I'd like to see the peaks of the Sierras look like a bunch of sno-cones.... Youse folks can send it all our way....

There is nothing up around Tahoe so far this winter, and if Mother Nature doesn't get with the picture we're going to have a long dry summer. The snow pack in the Sierras is our summer water supply. We did get a series of storms roll thru the area a couple of months ago, but any snow produced has melted off. Haven't seen anything like this since '73 and the draugt of '74-'75. Hope we have another March Miracle... http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i16/Cirquerider/2011/2011-12-18%20no%20snow/nosnow096.jpg

Here in California anytime a title is issued for any reason it's $16 bucks. When you took out the loan you paid to have the title in the loan company's name as owner, and you were the 'registered' owner. This is needed to secure the loan. The cost was part of the fees to finance the vehicle. The requirement is put there by the finance company not the dealer. You could have paid all cash and avoided the cost of the second title transfer to your name, but since you didn't you're stuck with second fee. Personally I think $16 bucks is cheap compared to all the interest you've been paying on the loan.

clutch reservoir screws stuck

Absolutely the best and easiest way to get them loose. When putting in Stainless coat them with a tiny bit of silicon caulk or spray. Eliminates galvanic corrosion between the stainless and aluminum housing.- 39 replies

There's been a lot of 'how to' plastic repair videos over the years, and the one thing most of them show is how messy hot welding plastic can be. I for one don't care for the results. For years I've been using IPS Weld-On Cement. What it does is chemically melt the ABS edges and allow them to bond back together. http://www.tapplastics.com/uploads/products/images/fullsize/standard/446_wo2354.jpg Once the IPS flashes off the crack is completely gone, and the plastic is welded together across the entire break. When welding with heat all you accomplish is melting the top and back surfaces together, but inside the break it's... still broken and will break again without some sort of reinforcement, or unless you've globbed on a ton of plastic and it looks double ugly... With IPS the crack is as strong as the original... and it will look good. In some instances it's hard to tell it's been repaired. One of the big reasons the tabs break, is that the gromet has a crush sleeve that will limit the amount of compression that can be applied to the tab. Lose the sleeve and the tab will be the next to go because of over tightening. So, just because the break is back to OEM specs, it'll probably break again unless the sleeve has been replaced in the gromet. For those areas that could still use some reinforcing regular glass mat will work very well on the back side or inside of the crack. For this I use IPS 16. http://www.tapplastics.com/uploads/products/images/fullsize/standard/611_weldon16.jpg Spread a thin coat of the 16 on the backside of the repaired crack and after about 2-3 minutes lay the glass matt over the tacky area. Once the glass mat is stuck ,wet it out with more of the 16... this can also be thin.. until the mat is completely covered and let dry for a couple of hours. The results will amaze you. You can not beat this type of repair. It's easy, clean, and super strong. My IPS

I usually get up pretty early and early in the AM I have to wade thru a bunch of infomercials about every supliment pill out there on the radio, and the 'new improved' too. Hey anyone ever heard of Dr Pinkus?? Anywho, Vitamin D deficiency is the new in pill. The symptoms match me to a T. Not sure if it's D deficiency, or juat plain old age, but been thinking about giving it a try... Either that or start riding topless.....

Thanks Don. Missed this post the first time around. Looks like this one escaped the recall. I wonder how long that recall is in effect??? This could get interesting...

Thanks for that video. It explains a lot.... and my need to get rid of the rig, and replace it with SOP stick clamps. I'll stick to LPG to heat up metal. What I need out of the welder is just something to do some spot tacking, and very little of that. Thanks guys, I apprreciate all the help and suggestions....

In a perfect world you're right, but in reality it doesn't always work out that way. I wonder just how long it would take someone to pass a snail moving motorhome when it was safe.... double yellow or no?? 1 mile.. 5 miles.. 10 miles?? On the accident, I wonder how many would have had the same thing happen to them in the same situation. Steering out of a high side looks good on paper and can be discussed ad nausium, but in real life in an elbows and a$$holes situation, when everything is happening in a nano-second, all the training in the world isn't going to keep you safe.

Yeah I kinda thought of that right after I posted the thread.... Still wouldn't want to have the tips touch while turned on. I think I'll invest in some new leads...
