Personally I think it's too long with too much 'thought' dialogue. Cell phone usage is one factor, but Left Hand Louies are the bigest contributor to MC accidents... Maybe a series of MC accident scenes with the car drivers saying 'I didn't see him' over and over.....

My bad, I meant to say pick up another OEM CB antenna lead co-ax. Replacing just the wire is a PITA..... There's a bunch of tiny springs and caps up under that crimp.... Like I said previously I did splice a new mount to the original co-ax on the AM/FM side, but it took a whole lot of shade treeing. I wouldn't attemp it on the CB side I have a bad habit of I assuming everyone knows what I'm talking about when I don't.....

When I order mine over the phone I asked for 2 bottles and they turned me onto the 3 bottle special for about the same price. You may want to call them on the land line and mention Venture Rider???

Good luck with that suction cup. I tried mounting the Garmin on my 1stGen using the cup and it came loose a couple of times while moving at freeway speeds. When in the truck I never had a problem. I think it's the viabration...??

I'd go ahead and replace the wire. It's not that long to begin with... probably 18" or so since the CB is under the trunk. I have repaired the am/fm side but it ain't easy, and not nearly as technical...

Reserve Tank Question
Condor replied to cabreco's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I guess I grew up in a different era without gas guages. I just start looking for a station when I hit 150 miles on the trip meter.... And way back when we didn't even have a trip meter and actually had to do a little math using the odo. All this one bar..two bar..reserve..red light stuff??? Who cares.... -
Interesting, but I wonder if it actually happened, or was it photo shopped?? Kinda like the guy sliding down a mountain ski jump and hitting a swimming pool 100 yards away..... I did understand one word in the dialog...

According to Motorvation my 2001 Backpack 20 was red when it left the factory. Who ever did the color change did it right. I paid $600 for mine with the ice chest rack and cover, and thought I'd stole it. It was like new. With the extras the original retail was up around $2500. So I think we both did good. I'm now looking at a black Motorvation Grand National and will consider painting it to match my '99 silver. If it had been white I'd have left it the way it was..... But beggers can't be choosers. Around here Motorvations are a rare commodity....

Thanks for the tidbit of info Frank. Solved problems are what make this board so valuable when chasing gremlins....

Wow, talk about doing a double take. Great looking trailer Rick. Almost the right color too... It's real close to the one I had stolen in Feb. I loved that trailer. Trailed like a dream on the 3000 mile round trip to Cody and back in July. BTW I don't know what type of ball you are going to use but I used the gimbled in the pic below.

Cool idea Dan.... I think since the 'tickets' only existed electronically you will need to write numbers on slips of paper and toss them into a hat. Shouldn't be all that difficult?? BTW you can leave mine out of the mix...

Looks like nothing more than an inline triple with 6 staggered cylinders. Never have cared for triples.... I'd rather see a V6 Venture based on the new V-Max V4.

I've been known to straighten out a few twisties over the years, but in that run there were lots of glaring screw ups.....

Geeze thanks Don. I think I'll head to Las Vegas... Some of you may not believe it when I say this, but I really feel guilty. Some of you will also know that I recently had my Cody Trailer stolen. It was insured, and I'm presently working with the insurance company on the payout. I really liked that trailer, and have found an upgrade model locally on Craigslist. I have talked to the seller and explained the situation, and if the payout is enough I'll be buying it. I want everyone to know that I wasn't ignoring this announcement it's just that the wife has been in the hosipital for the last coupple of days and I just brought her home today. So been busy... The first I heard of anything was when I finally checked my email and had a PM notice from Mini-Muffin saying she needed my address.... so she could mail me the title. At first I thought she was pulling my leg.... Guess not... So why am I typing all this?? When I mailed the check to Dan and Rose, I told Don to take my tickets and put them in Dano's name. I guess Don felt it wouldn't look right with Dano entering the raffle so they were left in my name. So the real winner is........... Dano. He can re-raffle the trailer, or sell it to one of the members... I'm sure they could still use a few bucks..., or keep it?? What ever he decides. I bet he might even be open to offers....

Just an update on the possibility of a West Coast get2gether. Vic is now slaving away at a new job, besides being a local Star Rider Pres, and District Star Rep, and I'm still not even close to riding condition health wise, so if there is going to be a 'Venture West V' it's going to need a couple volunteers to step up and put it together. I wish it wasn't so, but it is.... There has been quite a few positive responses to this thread, so I don't see a lack of interest....

Sounds like a good idea. Just make sure you don't suck the reserve dry....
