I want to apologize to everyone for my sarcastic remark. I have a tendency to fall off the wagon every once in a while..... I'm going to my room now....

Now that was real original... Stutter often???

You're trying to compare apples to oranges. The Venture engine runs better and get's better fuel milage staying in a lower gear and turning higher RPM's. The only thing 5th will do for you is get you there quicker over the long haul on the slab at 80+mph, but it sucks gas doing it....

Vent resistance?
Condor replied to Rosie1965's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
They actually came with a spring indent when new, however I haven't seen to many still attached. Haven't got a clue as to what causes them to disappear. -
I've found that just leaving the audio on overnight will put a load on the battery . Doesn't kill it, but it does slow things down in the AM start. Turn it off and things are much better...

Anybody Upgraded Their Front Brakes?
Condor replied to bongobobny's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I just had a friend upgrade his front brakes to R1 calipers on his '99RSV, and he couldn't stop raving about the difference. He said it was an OMG moment. I'll be doing the same thing to mine later this spring. It's a plug and play job. Pick up a clean set of R1 or R6 calipers off Ebay for $60 bucks with shipping, and that's all it's gonna cost.... The best bang for the buck mod you can do on an RSV. -
rear tire size..
Condor replied to reddevilmedic's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Whats the E3 look like? With 5000 miles on it I'd think it would last the summer. I had an E2 on the back of the '83 and thought about replacing it before taking off to Ft Collins on '07 just to be on the safe side. Posted a pic of the tread here on the board and the consensus was to don't worry about it and ride. I did. It finally wore to where it had to replaced in '09 before the Round-Up in Cody..... BTW that's just about it when it comes to tire size.... -
OK I'll bite. What are the other 19?? Enlighten us.....

I always wear a helmet when riding, but I also think it should be optional in every state. I also think that a rider should be required to declare his intensions to excerise his right to not wear when applying for insurance coverage... Then the premium can be adjusted accordingly. If he declares that he will be wearing to save on the premium, and then gets into an accident while not wearing, his policy is null and void and the insurance company is only obligated to return all the premiums paid. All liability and medical costs are then the responsibility of the helmetless rider.

newbie/brake parts question
Condor replied to pmelah's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
The first digit/letters of a part number designate what model year the part originally appeared or subsequently been modified in anyway... Even color... The last series of numbers are the actual part number and will work with any previous year. If they had modified it where it wouldn't be compatable they would have assigned a new part number. -
Some photographers just have that special gift that others dream about..... Very Nice!!

Like Bob says it's an easy fix doing a re-bush. But Bob's not next door and another machinest might not be as understanding...?? I'd find another stator cover on Ebay, or?? and replace it. Keep it lubed and it shouldn't go oblong on you again.... -
