  1. Most luggage racks use a flat stainless washer, and then a thinner rubber washer for weather seal, and the mounting screw comes up through the underside of the lid with the same set up in reverse. A 1" studded washer seems to be excessive.... If what you are saying is what I think you are saying??
  2. Get ahold of Rick Buttler and have him MOD the seat. Get ahold of Pegscrapper for ideas on the highway bar and pegs....
  3. I think the reason it pumps up so quickly is there's pressure already in the shock and it doesn't need any more....and it won't raise up either. Set the CLASS to AUTO and LOW. You should hear air bleeding off. Then try HIGH. The pump should run longer. Also the pressure will not read unless you turn the key to off and then back to accessory. It's been a while but that's the way I remember it... I think???
  4. My '99's battery will last longer with the audio system off when sitting for a long period. However.... I killed my AGM and then a new wet cell replacement and it turned out to be the rectifyer. Show'd volts, but no amps. Replaced it with one of those Shendengen's and no more dead batteries.
  5. I met Mr. Motrin a few years ago.....
  6. If the bolt is kept lubed up that shouldn't happen. What does happen is the shoulder bolt wears and folks think it needs to be tightened up. It's a shoulder bolt and tightening it won't do a bit of good. It will over torque the threaded portion and eventually the threads will snap off and the yoke at the end of the side stand will bend out of shape.... and the bike will end up on the ground. It's SOB bending it back to get a new bolt started. Don't ask me how I know that.... It probably would be better if it broke and than rewelded using a new bolt to line things up... ?? I did have a spare Brian, but Delta Rat beat you to it by a couple of years....
  7. If you can get the specs on the chain you might be able to buy it here and save a few bucks..?? http://www.mcmaster.com/#roller-chain/=htfgav

  11. Make sure it's actually the shock....
  12. I wear a similar type in an EMT boot with the side zipper. Very comfortable, and easy on and off.....
  13. Gyros have always facinated me. I just hope since it's going to be electrical it doesn't end up like all the rest and just be something that will be an around town puddle jumper. I can see the comsumption of amps to run the gyros being a limiting factor. Also the wheels act as gyros. Wonder what the effect will be at high speeds.... Gyros resist motion at 90 deg right angles. With all four working would they be in conflict????
  14. "I do not talk with a lisp..."
  15. With my carrier they covered it without any added rider. This question came up here before, and it got me to thinking about whether it was actually covered. Called them and all the wanted was the Vin#, Make, and Model. No extra premium for which I actually expected to get dinged. They covered the Motorvation. Not for quite what I thought was a resonable value, but enough to cover the cost of the replacement trailer. So I'm satisfied...
  16. Hopefully the chain will slow them down enough that I can get to my S&W. It sets right under the bedroom window for the time being, and will end up in a much securer place later this week. http://www.cast-aways.com/CONDORPICS/Sam-Side.jpg
  17. Here ya go..... This one's a pic of the anti-theft devise..
  18. You might want to consider that it's not weather resistant. 12vdc power plugs are available at West Marine that are designed to stay dry. I have one on the '91VR that's installed in the upper right hand corner of the right side dash. I'll go take a pic as soon as things lighten up around here....
  19. Looks like it's down grading to 40-50 knot winds. Should be under cat 1 huricane force by the time it gets a little inland..... It should bring some much needed rains...
  20. Caged over to my daughters yesterday afternoon for a birthday BBQ, and coming the other direction was a group ride of about 20 bikes. Looked closer and the ride captain's bike had eye brows on the fairing. Dang...a Venture!! Started looking at the other bikes in the group and there were about 8 of them that had the 'brows'. Cool.... It must have been a group from Star Riders 153 going somewhere... It was the most Ventures I'd seen since Cody... I checked the 153 calendar, and it said something about a 'Stary Night' event, but no info on it. That's where they must have been heading.... Wonder what it was...???
  21. 46.8mpg......... No way jose'..... Is today April first?? Nina was pushing a lot huh??? :rotf:
  22. Nothing like a good ol' shower to gain back a few years.
  23. I'd go with the snug up. A 2005 is too new to be having old gasket leakage.
  24. Wow!! That's a chunk.....
