  1. The wife had hers done 2-3 years ago. Hurt like he!! for 6 months, and she became addicted to the Vicodine pain pills. Everything's fine now and she no longer thinks about the replacement.... or has to pop a pill...
  2. They're actually a cover. I'd also get ahold of the eBay seller and tell him to ship you the rest..... Sometimes they 'forget'... http://www.accessories4bikes.com/images/STR-4NK27-18-02.jpg
  3. Very very nice........
  4. True, but only the first 300 or so Ventures in '83 had the gromet, not all '83's. Yamaha went to the strap very quickly due to the plastic 'horns' breaking. My '83 was #389 and had the straps..
  5. Outside of a few subtle changes it's all interchangable. Dash and choke lever are two items that come to mind that aren't the same but can still be 'adapted'.... If you're thinking about selling off parts the market might not be the best for 1stGen stuff lately.... When shipping the stuff to the US the cost will kill any sales south....
  6. Larger leather bags might be the best option. Yamaha doesn't make a larger sized saddle in the OEM style, and if your thinking about chopping up the ones you have now they'll need to be repainted if you want them to look good.... unless you don't care about cosmetics?? Keep us posted on what you decide to do... Take pics...
  7. That's what I told Don about Annie's trailer. They made it into the box anyway... I really don't want to take the chance... being fond of living and all..... http://www.cast-aways.com/images/OldCodger.jpg
  8. That's special..... NFS.....
  9. I'm not sure what the tape was that I used, but I did pick it up from a commercial auto paint store. I'm not worried about anything coming off.....
  10. The first time they appeared was in the '90 VentureLine Catalog, and it states that they fit 'all models' from '83 on. So they will fit any Venture '83-'93....
  11. I absolutely guarantee that someone else will be going home with that trailer..... It's driving me nutz that I can't participate, but I took the oath, and I figured that under the circumstances it's only fair.. Besides I did get a death threat from one member already.... http://www.cast-aways.com/CONDORPICS/Sam-Side.jpg
  12. Had a young...er friend drop by to chat last week. He just bought this low mile 99RSV and complained about the tires wearing out in 5000 miles. I asked him what brand and he responded with Dunlop 404's. I recommended he pick up a set of E3's soon.... He is younger, and does ride more agressively than most, and the bike is his daily transportation. He loves the bike and it'll be interesting to see what he gets out of the new set...
  13. :whistling:
  14. Tell 'm you're going someplace else and taking the rest of your business along with you...
  15. I like radar detectors. They keep me awake when traveling at night.
  16. Thanks for the heads up on Bob, Tom. Hope it's nothing serious.....
  17. Yep, bought a set of those myself. Big hands just don't fit in tiny places....
  18. Hang in there Annie, and I hope the bikes are stored high and dry...
  19. Low float bowl levels and possible vapor lock come to mind....
  20. Sorry to hear about the mishap. What weight were the ramps rated for?? You may have some recoarse on the damage??? There's a lot to be said about having a ramp gate on a trailer.
  21. Wow it's tough dealing with a detail man... You must go back and reread each and every post for your material. I guess the oat comment must have offended you?? But since you brought the subject up. Do you want to explain to me your wisdom of comparing two cars...or more... with minimum ground clearance, drafting down a straightaway at 200+mph bumper to bumper, with the air lift effect on a motorcycle trailer, 12 to 14 inches off the ground being pulled down the road at 75+... 4 to 5 feet behind the bike. Common sense just might tell you they are not the same thing. My first post was a friendly expression of an idea. Sometimes I get a little 'country' when trying to make them that way. Hence the oat comment about fuel consumption. As far as sarcasism goes, you might look in the mirror. Your "Ever heard of NASCAR and drafting?" (sic), might just be interpreted as exactely what you were complaining about, and what I took offense to. Sorry but that's the way I respond when someone starts to get smart ass with me. So... this is going to be my last post on this tread.. Take your best shot in your response. I'm out of here....
  22. Good Luck.... Take lots of pics....
  23. Oat eating?? (sic) Not sure I know what you're talking about. Something to do with NASCAR???
  24. Sounds like it's doing what it's supposed to be doing. That's why they call them regulators...or rectifyers... Put a load on the bttery and it should or could go back up to 14.2-14.3vdc
