  1. :sign yeah that:That's my thought. The pump may not be sensing pressure and not shutting down, or it's an aftermarket putting out way too much pressure.
  2. I really haven't Larry, and I'm not just saying it. They both have their good points. If I do decide to keep the Teardrop I'll probably end up painting it like the Legend to match the bike. I've seen a couple of really cool looking schemes. I'll get serious when I finally get the paper work and registration on the Teardrop which should be in a couple of weeks. If I am going to get rid of one, I think the best time would be just before Sturgis.
  3. Paches...... Pashnit..... Close but no cigar...
  4. I can only imagine what the air quality is like in Colorado and points east. 2-3 years ago when California was on fire I drove up to Shoshone Id., for my grandson's wedding, and didn't get out of the haze until I reached Twin Falls. Going over the Sierras early in the AM, it was like fog..... It just didn't burn off....
  5. Nice job nice pics
  6. Wow!!! Wish I were closer. My Great Great Grandfather was a mule skiner on the Erie Canal. If I ever get back to the area I'll have to look into taking that ride.....
  7. What a great post!!!! Put's faith back in the concept of marriage.... Congradulations on your 40th.....
  8. Yep, this one is made by J&E also. The other style looks to be made out of paneling while the J&E is hand laid fiberglass. That may be the reason they're a little heavier. I called and talked to Eddie at J&E in Elkhart about getting another lock set for the hatch cover, and he kinda hinted that they haven't made any for about a year and a half... He also wholesaled them to American Teardrop here in Ca.,but it looks like they will be closing their doors in Loomis and moving somewhere in Nevada. Las Vegas I think?? So all the glass Teardrops come from J&E. Eddie said he did have extra keys for only about 5 different locks, and explained where to find the number. It was right where he said it would be.... So I'll be calling him monday to see about buying a key or two... I guess that cooler would be blocking any road crud from hitting the trailer with only one wheel kicking up stuff and centered...
  9. Another thing to give consideration to is ventilation for the animals. The trailer is pretty close to the exhaust slip stream. Doesn't take much CO to do damage.
  10. It's a '99 silver/pewter Dan. The Motorvation was white and did look good with the silver. If I keep the black I'll probably end up painting it to match the bike, but the Teardrop would be left alone. Hmmmmmmm?? Very nice looking combo Larry. With the ice chest mounted do you get many road dings?? Good point......
  11. No matter which way I go the rack stays....
  12. This story starts back in Feb'2012 when my beloved Motorvation Trailer got legs and disappeared over the horizon. Since the escape it's remained at large. It was insured so I wasn't worried about finding something to replace it, and after a few months I started shopping Craigslist instead of hoping to see the Motorvation listed for sale by the DS that took it. About a month ago I ran into a nice 2003 American Legend Trailer and bought it. It looks good behind the RSV even though it's black, and the price was very right. Fast forward to last weekend. Just before buying the AL I found a white 2010 Teardrop listed in a local auction, but ran into a scheduling problem and couldn't make the auction. To my surprise it turned up again last weekend due to the bidder not having the bucks to pay for it. So I bought it this time around. The price was very close to what I had paid for the Legend. I actually bought it to make a few bucks since I already had a trailer that I liked. Here's the conundrum.... The dang thing is growing on me, and now I don't know what to do??? Which one should I keep?? The Legend is built to retro blend with a Harley and does look good behind the '99. The Teardrop has cleaner lines and is like a cavern inside. Which way do you think I should go???
  13. If you trully overheated, and you didn't lock the rear brake up, I'd suspect the pads are not retracting and dragging on the rotor. Probably from lack of use they may have built up some grunge on the piston.... I don't know about others, but I very seldom use the rear brake on my 2ndGen. You might try spreading the pads away from the rotor and then pump the pressure back up. It might clean what ever's keeping them extended off...
  14. I've never tried it, but I've heard that driving a couple of copper nails into the trunk will kill it.....
  15. If you decide not to mess with the moding the seat, I'd be interested in talking to your buddy....???
  16. Dang!! That pic of the garage kinda looks familiar.....
  17. This is just a thought, but what position is your drain valve set in? If it's set to 'on' the coolant will by-pass the thermostat and move fast enough thru the engine that it will not pick up heat efficiently , and the coolant will stay cool while the block will heat up. Set to the 'off' position will slow flows down and allow the radiator to do it's job.... This may also be the reason excessive heat is radiating off the block and melting louvers on those hot days..??
  18. It's been a long time coming, and I bet you're glad it's over.
  19. Here in California we're up the proverbial creek. Did a search for Non E stations, and they're all out in the boonies.... http://pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=CA Dang!!! I wish the government would stop screwing with things....
  20. It's a American Tear Drop Sparrow. Apparently someone bought it, on a loan and didn't pay for it, so they popped it... It's a 2010 and like new, and has a really cool lid lock. Never seen one like it before. I don't have the key...it's open..., but maybe American has a record of it off the Vin#, or there's always a lock shop??? It's built like a tank and weighs in at 240# with a tongue weight of 24#. Almost killed me pulling it uphill off the street into the front yard..
  21. No sense in duplicating what you already have...huh??? I'm a trailer magnet, what can I say... This one's a 2010 American Teardrop. Not my style, but hopefully someone's?? I'm going to go through it, make sure all systems are go, and put it on the market. I have this one cabled to the rought iron porch upright. I used one of those cable gun locks they give away at gun shows. Works good. Goes thru the pin hole in the coupler and still had enough length to wrap it around the upright.... TNT is a good idea though.... Got up to 110 yesterday... 100 somethin' today. 88 tomorrow. Com'on Monday!!!!
  22. Went to an auction this morning and it wasn't too bad...until I went out into the sun.... Temp in the rear view mirror on the way back home hit 109. Oh, and by the way I picked up another...... trailer. Don't need it, but the price was right...
  23. A possibility might be that your sync screws on 4 and 3 are set too tight, and they are controlling your idle.....
  24. And hope it lasts all day. 108 degs predicted in NorCal today. Cooling off tomorrow.... down to 104.....
  25. And make sure you replace the 'o' ring seal.....
