  1. If you were using Ride-On this would be a non-issue.....
  2. That's something I gotta try. My right side has never worked, and I thought it was broke. Maybe it just needs a little TLC???
  3. I don't have any guns, and I don't have any ammo.... That's my story and I'm sticking to it.... Kapish!!
  4. I remember that.... Some news station in Florida had a segment on the shortage of toilet paper in the area and the whole dam country went nuts.... Shelves were bare nationwide. Sears Catalogues were bringing big bucks......
  5. The question is between the 1st and 2nd Gens???
  6. I wonder if that plunger is common throughout all the years??? If so I might have one off a 1stGen... Anyone know??
  7. You have air in the lines. Go to www.speedbleeder.com and replace the bleeder valves with 8125L's. It'll take 6 of them if you replace the valves in the Anti-Dives. Otherwise you'll only need 4 including the clutch. Also you won't get any fluid out of the front left if you're using the brake lever on grip. It will come out using the foot pedal. See next. Yep On the '84 it doesn't have the top bleeder. It came about in the '86 model year. The spongyness is due to air in the lines.
  8. I stand corrected... That's how much I paid attention in the first place...
  9. It is what it is. On their website they use the Yamaha name on a lot of their products. I briefly scanned the .pdf file they sent and saw Ducati, Honda, KTM, and others, as well as many different models of Y. The price posted for the RSVS was around $3600US/FOB San Francisco, and the GW came in at $3700US. But what one has to remember is import duties, set up costs, flooring fees..If it's a big order..., advertising, etc. The email didn't state the minimum unit, but at that price it would have to be a full container. Here's another thought that passed 'quickly' from ear2ear. Years ago when Harley was on their backs and in deep trouble, congress passed big import duties on the Japanese motorcycle industry. Maybe other products...I donno?? Anyway, this may be a way to get around the penalty fees. By shipping the bikes to a Chinese Co. and let them be a middle man they can circumvent those import fees, and get the prices down and buy the market back. Right now the market is stagnet, and this may be a way to make their products more affordable. With the amount of debt the US has with China I don't think they'd have a leg to stand on if they tried to jack up the tarrifs again....
  10. The next time it happens I'll have to give that one a try... Hopefully it'll work. Learn something new everyday...
  11. Never had the needles, but did get the shock test. I think those technicians are masochists by nature. I also think that if I hadn't put a stop to the test, and tell her that's enough, I'd still be getting zapped.... End result I had both carpals done about a year apart. No more numb hands while riding....
  12. I thought I was the only one with that problem... Change light bulb...rewire house!!

    Honda Fury

I bet he doesn't do a whole lot of touring with that thing. I wonder what the rider feels like after doing a couple of hundred mile ride.... Maybe that's why he traded it for a GW??
  14. Well... I received a response in the form of a PDF file which I'll try to attach it, but I think Don will have to open up the PDF cap to get it to go. It's big, almost 7MB. If this is a hoax it's certainly an elaborate one. Sure beats the African slum lord bank account... I wouldn't act on this thing unless I had a third party report on the company. After doing a google on the writer I find that she has several listings, and no alarms about any wrong doing. The body of the email: the following is our company website : http://peizhao86.en.made-in-china.com you can choose the model that you like to take from the attachment how many pcs do you like to take for each model ? free shipping by sea to you , your shipping information is required to make the perform invoice do you need invoice / bank transfer tt to company account or western union wu which do you prefer ? owner mr jiang yang 2013-02-07 peizhao86
  15. I have tried to recover the post, but it's off into cyberspace... The spell checker idea may have some merit. Also maybe you can answer me this. Why is the Venture site the only place this happens if it's in the browser settings?? PS I use the left triple click, and right click and copy, when I start getting paranoid..... A lot quicker...
  16. OK, I just sent the company a request for FOB Pricing to SF,Ca, minimum order, and time to delivery. Figured what the heck.... I'll either get a response, or get deluged with email from a bunch of chinese companies trying to hawk their wares. We'll see... One thing that may be a problem is I've run into auctions locally where they were selling smaller vespa type chinese motorcycles that we see running around in conjested asian cities. They had a 'caveat emptor' that the bikes couldn't be sold in California. Why?? Don't know. I think I read somewhere it had to do with the tires??... maybe?? Could be C.A.R.B. requirements?? I don't think it could be EPA or they couldn't be sold in other states as well..
  17. All good thoughts Miles. I don't have a clue. Just thought the email was interesting. I also wonder if the quality will be the same. So far any MC represented out of China has always been 250cc and under. The plot thickens....
  18. I just received an email from a Global Sourcing Agency for a chinese company starting to make touring bikes. Here are the pics they included with their notice. http://p.globalsources.com/IMAGES/PDT/SMALL/841/S1053389841.jpg http://p.globalsources.com/IMAGES/PDT/SMALL/160/S1053382160.jpg http://p.globalsources.com/IMAGES/PDT/SMALL/372/S1053380372.jpg I wonder if they have a good supply of tape decks????
  19. That would be my guess too. 'Specially if it's one of those high pressure type located inside the fuel tank.....
  20. The spell checker disappearing act may be the problem. I do use it once in a while and I can't say for sure that I used it before the disappearance,,,, but I might have since it doesn't happen all the time??? However, I use the checker on other sites without a problem??? Go figure... :confused07:
  21. NOPE....
  22. Glad I'm not halucinating and not alone.... Don... try changing the font on something the size of a paragraph and then hit the backspace a few times... quickly. Over the years it's happened to me a bunch, but not everytime. Don't know what gives?? I just tried it on this post and it didn't happen.... Maybe we gotta ghost??
  23. I used to0 be perfect....
  24. I saw a similar article in my local paper, and I don't think that they took into consideration that many older riders are new riders, due to the economy, gas prices, and second childhood, and haven't gotten the experience that can only be gotten through years of riding. I might also add that every accident I've come across first hand is a 20-30 year old on a crotch rocket.
  25. OK, when typing up a long comment to a thread... yeah I can get wordy sometimes.., and want to correct a typo or change around the way it's said, and I rapidly hit the back space three or more times, the screen will return to the original post, and I'll loose everything I've typed. It really pissses me off.... to the point I'll just give up on the thing and move on rather than try to retype it. At times when I think about it I'll copy a long comment just in case... But I still forget and the backspace just happens. This is the only site that it happens on. Grrr!!
