  1. Maybe a piece of masking tape over the key slot would be good enough. Especially when it's going to sit for any length of time...
  2. Shackin' my bike around like that would scare the cr@p out of me....
  3. Give B&F Specialties a shout. They're the folks that make the Bunkhouse trailer. They also deal with electric brakes. After searching the web there a bunch of bike pulling trailers with electrics... I believe they also came up with an electric/hydralic system.
  4. Annie!!! How soon we forget. You have a bell. Remember Cody??
  5. Probably 99% of the time I wear fingerless gloves, and every once in a while I put on a pair of insulateds for when it really gets cold. I just pick them up off eBay... Nothing fancy.
  6. You may find that it's harder and more expensive to find plastic the exact color and repainting will be cheaper...and easier. In any event I wish you luck in your endeavor....
  7. The weight specs are empty. Start loading the trailer up with 'stuff' and it's going to get heavy real quick. The tongue weight is OK, but the mass is going to be tough to stop. You might want to consider electric brakes...
  8. But it can happen. A lot of us have switched over to the Dunlop E3 because of it...
  9. Awesome bike for an Awesome warrior....
  10. I've had Venom cracks that make those look like after thoughts, but regardless they are scary and should be replaced for piece of mind. And they should be warantee'd. I've personally never heard of a Venom coming apart because of the cracks, as usually they're warantee'd, or replaced with another brand fairly quickly. Who knows what would happen if they were not taken care of. My first set of Venoms on my '83 I had up into triple digits and then discovered the cracks when I got back to the barn. Whew!!
  11. Speed-Bleeders......
  12. This is just a thought... With the on/off again issue with the systems, could the problem have something to do with how the relay has been installed?? From what I gather the problem started after the ignition switch was replaced and relay were installed...
  13. I had the same problem a couple of years ago. Show'd 17vdc on the multi-meter, and sucked that baby dry in a couple of days. The problem was the rectifyer. High volts and no amps. Replaced the RR and it ran great all the way back home. Some folks have had a problem with corrosion of the connectors to the RR, but in this case the wiring was fine. The rectifyer on a 2ndGen is located at the botom of the engine pan at the front. Put the bike on the sidestand and poke around from the high side. It's held on with a couple of 10mm bolts.
  14. Billet air cleaner covers are no longer offered and rarer than chicken lips to find used. Here's a pic of one way to save a few schekles....
  15. Doing the hitch yourself is a piece of cake. It'll take longer to install the trailer pigtail...but not difficult...
  16. I wear a Nolan Modular helmet so stick with their Bluetooth N-Comm head set. Not cheap, but shoping eBay helps with the pain... I like the set up as I can Bluetooth to my cell phone and GPS, and also hardwire to the bikes system with their media cable for the CB. I can't think of anything else I'd need???
  17. Yep..yep...yep. Been there and still doing that.....
  18. Get him a hat... He'll be back to normal...
  19. For the 2ndGen's. 1stGen's take the ETX18XL... and are a few more buck$ for some reason.
  20. You might look at the latch/lock set up off a 1stGen saddle bag. I bought a set with the key from Skydoc to upgrade the ones on my Motorvation before it was stolen. Never got around to it, and my new2me trailer doesn't need upgrading. Don't ask... I don't know what the 'H' I did with them.
  21. I was thinking that it was a 99 also, because of the orange turn signal lights. Thanks for clearing that matter up.
  22. If it's taking a long time to warm up take a look at your drain valve setting. It may be on and needs to be set to off. On by-passes the thermostat. And of course you knew that... Sorry Herb..
  23. I absolutely agree with you, but that still doesn't make it something I can't find amusing and laugh at..... And for the rest of you that are so offended, don't get your panties in a bunch.... :rotf:
  24. LOVED IT!!!
  25. So I'm caging it to a Dr's appointment, and out of the rear view I see a 2004 all white RSV coming up in the left lane. Now I've seen a lot of Ventures on the road, but this guy (50ish) has his bike covered with skulls, decals, wearing a half helmet with all sorts of 'art work' on it and the required leather jacket. I had to laugh... At least he had the smarts to ride something that didn't break down....
