That all depends on how far you are away from the original post. I think you need to do the math on how many back clicks you'll need and how much time it takes to return after posting a response to thread. You can do anything you want, but if you're only on the next page you might try just using the 'back' arrow. It's not the clicks but the time it takes to reload the previous pages... Not forced to use IE at all. I've taken a look at most of the other browsers and thought they all were lacking and poor IE imitators. Didn't like any of them. Actually I thought Netscape was pretty good... Better than XT Turbo anyway....

I remember those while driving back cross-country in my folks '29 Model A from California to New York and back in the mid 40's. I wonder if any are left in collections. A big part of Americana.... Some of those rhymes posted above may not be original??

:sign yeah that:I agree. I've pulled my '83VR, or my '07 in my 5'6"x10' utility trailer and each fill it up fairly well. For 2 bikes I'd look around for a tandem enclosed 7x14 with a ramp gate on eBay or craigslist. I don't think they make a 7x12, but if they do go for it. The enclosed will also make a great bike storage during the winter months and free up the garage. Here's one local to me that would be great.... There's gotta be a few similar, local to you http://sacramento.craigslist.org/mcy/4116043292.html

After posting on a thread it will take me back to the forum and show the post. Afterwards I go up to the navigation forward/back arrows, and right next to them I have a recent pages drop down menu arrow. Click on the 'search results' page and you're back on the 'new posts' page. Easy. One click and you're done. Using XP Pro.

opinions on adding chrome goodies?
Condor replied to baylensman's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Venture Line vs Aftermarket?? Most of the stuff available on the net is 'Hecho en China' and the chrome is toast after only a few years. Plus the material they use is not as stout as the stuff made in the USA. I know someone's going to chime in here with a 'yes but', but... remember all the Venture bling sold here by Y-USA was made in the USA. Was?...because most of it is not being made any longer. If $ are a big issue, shop eBay and this sight. If you run into any left overs at a Y dealer, try to dicker with them. They know the market is not going to last and just might?? let it go for 25-30% off. And they'll still make a few bucks on it. My -
Haven't had a problem.... Maybe the ISP??

I'd use a hard Carnuba wax on the area. As long as you can't see it, lay it on thick.

For the best answer I wouldn't check with a dearler. I'd call Y directly. I remember this subject came up a few years ago, but.... I can't remember the outcome...
-
I wonder just how many are running around without the gaskets?? Youda thought that Y coulda done a better job designing the dam thing....
-
Yep... Had oop's with both the '07 and the '99 and they both stopped running.
-
The big reason it was totaled is the cost that Y charges for replacement plastic. It doesn't take much to rack up the repair bucks. Even if it's nothing more than road rash the insurance company will only replace with new. However if it's only light cosmetic and you can fill and finish (FIY), it's a great price, but if you plan on replacing the damage with used, take a hard look at what sellers are charging for undamaged plastic. You still might end up paying more than you could buy a used one for in nice condition. I paid $6000 for an '07 in very nice condition, albeit did have some miles on it. That's only 2 grand more, and I didn't have to do a thing.

The way the tank sits with the slightly elevated front, and the small side difference at the rear, the best you might gain is access to a cup of fuel before putting it on the side stand. Not worth the effort.

We had a bunch of fun at the Cody'11 raffle. 4 tables of great prizes.

More like the mid 40's. There were two one rooms. One on Dodge Rd. an the other on French Rd. I believe I went to Dodge. It was multi graded. K thru 6?? Coal burning furnace in the back of the room, and outhouses... Some one sent me a news article about someone converting the school to a private residence a while back...

Maybe just a little correction on this point for a 2ndGen. Both positions.. 'Reserve' and 'On'... feed off the bottom of the tank. MOF they actually sit below absolute tank bottom as the petcock is mounted to the outside bottom of the tank, and on the sidestand side for a reason. The difference between the two is that the 'on' feed has a 60mmx5mm bronze stand pipe with a 1.5"x .25" tall filter screen mounted to top of the pipe. So it is possible to lose the 'on' screen and still get fairly clean fuel out of the tank. The stuff that does get by should be filtered out by the inline filter prior to the fuel pump. However, if some sort of a fuel conditioner isn't used to keep the varnish soluable and moisture suspended in the fuel, and that fuel run thru the engine on a regular basis, it will gather on the bottom of the tank. So sloshing the fuel around by riding also helps a lot in keeping the bottom of the tank fairly clean. Now to the stand pipe. If there's any way that thing can fall out of the petcock flange I'll kiss you're ...... That thing is swetted into the flange and takes an act of God to remove it...... On the other hand if the screen breaks or falls off the 'reserve' feed you could be in trouble.... However regularly running fuel thru the system still could keep things OK... Unless.... you get a load of fuel that's bad. Then you need all the help you can get.... Sorry for the long response...
-
There is no reserve line to pinch. It all goes thru one line to the filter. Since it ran OK and then quit when you switched to reserve, go to my first post.... Be careful they don't start feeding you something that isn't so and charging you for it.

I'm from Buffalo. Left. Started kindergarden in South Pasadena, Ca., and finished it in a one room school house in East Amhearst, N.Y.. Started 1st grade in EA and finished it in L.A. Ca. 65 years ago. Still have shirt tails in the area.

If you haven't used reserve lately you probably have varnish plugging up the screen of the reserve which feeds off the bottom of the tank. It can get really nasty on the tank bottom if you haven't used Sea Foam and rode regularly... The Venture petcocks are also rebuilable for very little money. The petcock is easy to remove and clean....or rebuild if neccessary. Yes you will need to remove the tank. Also not a big deal unless it's full of gas. It can get heavy....

HELP Syncing problems!!!!
Condor replied to Huggy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Back off all your sync screws and resync. Sounds like you have the sync screws set too tight, and #2 carb is no longer controlling idle. -
Finned cylinder covers
Condor replied to Ventureless's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
You will need to loosen the front of the fuel tank and get it up out of the way get to the dog bone hanger's top hex cap screws. Not a big deal. And since you already have it torn down it may be a moot point?? -
I hear ya. That's why we drill holes in the bottom of our boat trailer brake lights. Don't beleive it when they say they're water proof. Out here on the left coast we don't have an issue with riding in down pours.... Down pours?? What's a down pour....?
