If it bothers you then don't look at it... or just treat it as a source of entertainment. I think it's colorful, creative, and amazing that 5 days ago it didn't exist and now it can be seen from outer space... Give it another week and it'll be gone again.

For all you ex-hippies in the audience, Burning Man is now on.. And you might think this is interesting.... Do you know what a female hippy is?? A very hippy.... It's kinda boring until the sun goes down then things start lighting up. It is entertaining.... https://burningman.org/event/live-webcast/

With CCleaner it gives you a choice of what to clean and keep under the custom link. Unlike the easy clean that get's rid of everything you can pick and choose some of the things you want to keep. My system is Windows 7 and Chrome. No problems. Also use Bitdefender firewall. So far so good...so far....

Not sure about the '96's, but the 1stGens were designed to limit the stopping power of the rear brakes to about 30%.. May be the same for the '96's. One thing you don't want is to have your back brakes lock up in a panic stop and high side. The 99RSV's and newer had a problem with touchy rears when they unlinked the system...

Great pic Puc. And look who's holding the '94... :-) BTW bought my first ugly gun yesterday. Should be fun making it sing again... With the help of an ultra-sonic cleaner and buffer... :-) Or... maybe I'll leave it the way it is and just fix the gremlins... Makes it look antique... It may have come from the factory that way since the bore is perfect... DANG!! After studing the pic it isn't Mama holding that '94 but the middle son.. Make note.. See optometrist...

RIP Fred. I had the pleasure meeting Fred at my first Venture West in Susanville, CA., and remember he and his wife taking their VR trike into a hard left on two wheels. It was a sight to see.. :-) I still think of him often when the town of Parump NV is mentioned.. From what I've heard he had a large work shed filled with 1stGen parts.. Fond memories....

Nice 50 Kretz. I picked up a similar style Knight 209 rifle in 45cal. probably 8-9 years ago. It was my first BP, and I guess started my BP craze... Never have shot the thing, and probably never will.. And it's the only 'modern' BP rifle I own. We won't mention the 15-20 pre-1800's Colt/Remington copies I own... Love those Spaghetti westerns... :-)

Here's another one... Back in my late teens I worked in the sporting goods dept of a Discount Dept Store. It was my first taste of the sporting goods world. In the rack of our gun section there was a Mannlicher Schoenauer 7x57 rifle that I fell in love with but couldn't afford. Even used over the ensuing years. Fast forward 40 years. An auction house a few towns away had a BRNO f22 Mannlicher in 7x57 up for auction. I previewed it and it was the spitting image of the Schoenauer. Double set triggers, barrel length fore-end, Mauser designed action that had not been drilled and tapped for a scope... It was in decent condition. Not mint, but not abused.. in hunted condition. So I bid on it. Apparently no one else knew what it was or it's value, and I stole it. It was my first of many collectible's... Here's a few artsy-fartsy pics.

Welcome to my world Don. Before giving up on the scoot make sure there's nothing serious going on. Low blood pressure will cause the dizzy's. I had the same thing happen to be with too strong of a BP med. 120/80 is considered normal BP. I was running boarder line high, but now have settled at 134/70. With your BP history I wonder why they even put you on any med's. With the angioplasty I had they did find a blockage in one of the heart veins, but chose not to stint it due to capillaries growing past the blockage. So they put me on a Beta Blocker and things are looking good. I still have trouble with my balance and have built quite a cane collection.. :-) Thinking about riding on a two wheeler is scary. I know I should sell off my herd of Venture's, but there'd be nothing to hug or dream about. So again I'd hold on to your scoot for a while. It's it amazing that the older we get the less time we have to mess with all our 'hobbies'.... :-) PS: You may already have one, but if not pick up one of those battery powdered BP monitor's. I have one and it's probably 20 years old and still works. When things start acting goofy I monitor BP daily...

Yep, you have to go with K&N's if you install the billets....

I can make saw dust with the best of 'm, but when it comes to in-letting and barrel fitting I'm a clutz. Tried once on a FN Mauser action, and finally gave up bought a Hogue synthetic and the action snapped right in. That's why I let someone else do the customizing, and buy them on the used market...

Tested out some motorcycle specific touring boots
Condor replied to VentureFar's topic in Watering Hole
Nice report Neal... You did good.. About 10 years ago I picked up a pair of EMT boots off eBay for a pittance. Two things I like about them are they have mesh vents, and lacing... and a zipper.. Lace 'm once and that"s it...They keep their cool when high temp dessert riding. And since I have large feet they came in my size... :-) For those of us that have well endowed feet, finding anything that runs in larger sizes is a God send.... -
Here's another one Don.... Haleymok. I think you hit the nail. Remove the auto Welcome, and pre-approve any trial memberships... After a while they'll prpbably go away.... Hopefully... :-)

I'm a collector Sly. I probably have over 60 guns in my collection and if I fired every one of them the ammo cost alone would put me in the poor house... I just like the looks of the old single action late 1800's westerns, and to be honest I haven't shot one of them... Basically 'cause I don't want to clean them... :-) I do have everything needed to get one runnin', so maybe one of these days?? Nothing wrong with your thinking, I'm of the same mind. Pheasant, quail, Ducks, Antelope, Deer, Elk.... Haven't shot anyone.... yet.... :-)

Where's the Marinara Sauce.... :-)

That repro looked familiar, but I'll probably never hold one of the originals... And that original in the video might not have been a 1 of 1000. I've seen a few repro's that have been 'antiqued' and they look really old, but take the grips off and they're all nice a shiny underneath, and the bore and rifling are perfect. Some folks like the look of patina. More like an original.. I won't mention any names, but I think I've found one coming up in an auction that I'm watching very closely... :-) It's an 1851 Navy that looks like it's been antiqued... Antiques are pretty easy to spot. If the bore is shiny and the cap nipples are fairly clean, but the rest of the gun looks like it's been rode hard and put away wet... It's been antiqued. They even sell chem's that you can use to get the DIYS patina look... And for some reason they bring more money...??

I'm wondering if it wouldn't be better to just replace the trailer wiring with a kit from Harbor Freight??? Color codes would be right and easier to figure out??

Broken Speedometer Cable?
Condor replied to luvmy40's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
They'll also groan when cold. I had just bought my first ever VR, and was on my first Venture West in Susanville CA. The '83 ran fine on the way up there, but when I got up in the morning to take a ride around town, it began moaning/groaning when I headed out. Sacred the crap out of me. Here I am 200 miles from my security blanket home and tools, and I got a problem. So when it moaned I stopped. When I moved again it started again. The third time it quit. So I figured it must be a dry cable and rode back home without any more complaining. I lubed the hell out that cable. It was the best lubed speedo cable in the world.. :-) The lubed seemed to take care of the problem, but when the morning temps started to dip the moan returned. All this time the speedo never quit working, and the moan only happened the first thing in the morning. Stop and it'd go away. So I put up with it.. Then I found a mint '83 dash on eBay, and since the OEM was getting weathered I went ahead and replaced it. In the process I found the culprit. The speedo cable was 'taped' to the back of the speedo by the previous owner. The problem was he didn't know how to get to it to screw it back on. New dash, cabled properly attached, the the gremlin was gone. To check on the fitting remove the left turn signal and with a bit of wiggling the back of the speedo is accessible.... For those wondering how to check their's....?? -
Broken Speedometer Cable?
Condor replied to luvmy40's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hard to tell, but the cable will pull out for inspection by undoing the cap on the front axle. It'll slide right out of the core... There's also a cable cap that screws into the rear of the speedo. It also might have come loose?? -
From a few of my past gun posts most of you folks have figured out I'm into, and collect, Single Action Remington and Colt Revolvers. The collecting part is limited to reproductions since there is no way on God's green earth I could afford the real McCoy.... So I scratch my itch with Italian repro's.. I just picked up a copy of a Colt Walker for my collection in an auction last week, and then received an email from RIA linking to this great video discussing the Colt Walker. Made my day...

Yeah, he's right. Another way to tell is the newer calipers look like a brick and they have vertical mounting holes. The older type have horizontal holes...

clutch mystery

There's still air in the system.... -
That announcement was all over the last Barrett Jackson Auction where they auctioned off the last front engined C7 for 2.7 million. Not bad for a 66 yr. run.... However... If they are still using the Suburban name tag, it has been around a lot longer than that. I agree the new middy is cool looking, and just another Detroit product I won't be able to get my long legged..fat ass... into.
