what da heck what da hay,, lets debate tires some more..
Condor replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Dunlop E3's. Tough tire. Running them on two of my 2ndGens. The '07 from The Dalles, and my '99. The '04 had a set of almost new Avons from the P.O.. If they ever wear out (ha!!) or start that sidewall cracking they'll be replaced with E3's. I've put a couple of miles on the '99 with the E3's and they still look like new. -
I already have a Rivco on the '99, so the new one is still sitting unopened. I'll get it on the '07 one of these days..... I'm still not sure which way to go. For general tweeking the center stand is great, but for bigger jobs a lift, and one of Carbon 1's adaptors, is the way to go.... and for that the center needs to come off. Triked the '04 so there's no need there... :-) I do like the Rivco on my '99. 'Specially when working on the left side of the bike....

no Reserve Fuel
Condor replied to Sexagenarian's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
The two part numbers you need to pick up are: 3AJ-24534-01 SEAL COCK and 3AC-24523-00 VALVE PACKING There's also a base gasket 4X8-24512-00, but it may not be needed. Check the original first. They should run around $10 bucks total. -
How'bout posting a few pics???

emissions valve relocation, Help!
Condor replied to Dave3's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I posted that 8 years ago and I really can't remember what the heck I did to get the valve out of the way. I think I remember someone posting that the pic in the RIVCO instructions was backwards?? That said I'll be doing a refresher course as I just picked up another center stand from Rivco out of the special run of 20 to go on the '07....- 10 replies

no Reserve Fuel
Condor replied to Sexagenarian's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
There's an 'O' ring and gasket in the petcock that may be bad and you're sucking fuel thru the reserve even tho you have it in the 'on'.... position. They are available from Y. -
Calling all West Coast (or Western States) riders –check it out
Condor replied to Condor's topic in Watering Hole
I'd also like to add that if anyone is having trouble printing the pre-registration form let me know, and I'll try to smooze is some more. I do know that I'm not getting what the page looks like. Anybody else?? OK, The best way to get this thing to sorta print is 'select all' and then 'print selection' in the printer menu. Sorry for the probs... -

Adding Rick and Dorris Bray. 'Easyrider' -
I just saw the MD cancellation notice in the Regional Rally’s forum. I assumed he was coming to VW14 and that's why he pulled the plug... Health was my second guess. Wrong on both counts. Hope they can work it out. Deal with the present. The past is history, and tomorrow's a mystery. Todays a gift....

WE NEED A HEAD COUNT!!... PLEASE!! Lots of info and hard work has been posted by LoneEagle for the VW14 gathering at http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=81281&highlight=Venture+West+2014 Now we'd really like a head count. VW14 is 80days away and it's time to start planning in earnest... We have a few things up our sleeves besides arms... Just quote the last reply to this thread and add your name and location at the bottom of the list. That way the last post to this thread will have all the names in one post. Thanks.. #1 Lone Eagle Concord CA #2 Condor Carmichael CA #3 #4 #5 #6

Thought I'd mention this eBay listing for Trike Covers. I've never seen one listed before. There's 10 of them so..... [ame=http://www.ebay.com/itm/271417277662?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT]TRIKE COVER[/ame]

That'd work Neil. From Santa Nella it's about 2.5 hours to Dunnigan. Gets you there around 7:00- 7:30am. It's about 1 hr for me here in Sac, so I plan on leaving the house around 6am. Vic sez he's going to ride up from Concord on Tuesday and stay at the Duningan M6, so he'll keep the light on for anyone else who wants to do the same....

Dunnigan Ca is just north of where I-505 joins up with I-5. There's a Jack in the Box, and Bill and Kathy's restaurant, plus a Motel 6 for those from SoCal that might want to over night somewhere. Since it's a full day 650 mile ride to the Dalles from Sac I thought about leaving here around 5am and getting to Dunnigan (50mi.) around 6am for breakfast, and maybe joining up with anyone else heading north. KSU at 7a would give us a chance to make The Dalles before 6pm. Of course this is all conjecture...but it's a thought... Dunnigan

For those who want to know, here's a google map showing the distance between M6 and the Cuz's.. Looks like about a block and a half. .2 10th's of a mile.... Also for those who want to camp here's a Google search result for campsites... Looks like a bunch.

I hear ya Joe. I trailered mine to Cody #1 in '09. I don't want to mention my fuel bill at over $4 bucks a gallon... Road to Cody #2 in '11. Big Savings!!! Looking forward to seeing you again....

The Cousin's sounds like a plan. It may a tad 'pre-dicker' high but we're only talking 3 nights. They might also offer senior discounts?? Also being able to stumble out of your room and get gas, or coffee...or breakfast?? is a plus. For those on a budget M6 would work. They do offer several different types of discounts. Senior.. AAA?? Just bring a complete cover for prying eyes. I've never had a problem when leaving the bike well covered and out of sight, but I understand how some could feel uneasy... Like Vic sez, a head count would help with the number of rooms we would need to ask for.... 6 to 60??

Some of you may already have received this email, but for those who haven't, I received this this morning. PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT Hello Jack, Chick from Rivco Products. We are up to a count of 30 interested bikers for the RSV001 Rivco royal star centerstand to go into production. This is a tentative count before we require a $100 deposit. Please respond to me with your definite answer of yes or no about your interest of getting your centerstand. Once I receive 20 definite YES responses I will then contact you for credit card information for the deposit. When all deposits of 20 plus committed bikers has been collected we will start our production, a quick response is much appreciated. Thank you very much, Chick cstrockis@rivcoproducts.com The total is going to be $400 ea. for the special run of 20. I know they're pricy, but it's a heck of a stand. I already have one on the '99RSV, and looking forward to adding one to Seven. If you aren't on the list and would like to be, give them a call. The more the merrier!!

Wish I'd have had that info when my pump went down. Saw the original post about 2 weeks after I bought the new one..... Next time...

Thanks for all the kind thoughts guys, but no, I'm not mad... just disappointed. Like all the group buys I've put together over the years, I did it for the members, and make very little, if anything doing it. A couple of times I would have lost money if it hadn't been for a couple of hero members making a 'donation'... Personally, I don't give a damn about this website, but I do care a lot for it's members and their common love of Venture MC, and that's why I do what I do. One more thing. I don't produce a thing.... All the group buys were put together with a supplier. I ain't that talented...

Why am I having trouble viewing posted pics in the popup viewer?? Been having this trouble where the screen is black and the little ball circle just rotates, and the pic doesn't down load. I can open them in another tab in a nanosecond. It did this with the old computer, and now with the new one....
