  1. Dang Mike... Why couldn't you have totaled a Midnight......
  2. OK, I gotta play devils advocate here. If the reason to trike a bike is to keep us OF's from falling over, and with this thing tilting that far over, why get one in the first place??? From the pics it looks like there's a good chance it'll keep going. Doesn't look safe to me....
  3. During summers in college I worked for Winthroth Pump Co.. One time in Tustin, Ca. we had to pull 360' of 20" column pipe in 20' sections with a set of bowls at the bottom, 250hp electric motor on the top, in 114 deg temp. Pull it, rebuild it, and reinstall. It was so hot the tools had to be tossed into a bucket of water or you couldn't pick one up if it sat for a while. :scorched:The pump was the only water supply for the entire town of Tustin... near Disney Land... and they only had a 2 day supply of water in the tank. WE...crew of three...did it, and when we fired the thing up I layed down in the water coming out while testing. God it felt good!! Yours should be a piece of cake....
  4. GROAN........!!
  5. Just wondering. I recently added a Voyager Kit to my '04RSV, and reading some posts they go through rear tires fairly quickly. So now I'm wondering.. even though I'm not a fan of car tires on a two wheeler, would it be OK since the bike no longer leans?? It might also increase the traction with a bigger footprint. There's a fairly fresh Avon on it now, and when it get's to the point of replacing, it might be something to consider.
  6. Randy, A better description might be pull on from the grip, pull off from the grip, pull on from the box, and pull off from the box. With no pic it's tough to 'see' which one you're refering to...?? I had one fray on the '99 and it bound up tighter than a frogs a$$.....
  7. As mentioned in a few previous posts, don't use Loctite on anything around ABS.... however if needed put a drop of the wife's clear nail polish on the threads and let it dry. Then tighten it up.... Works....
  8. It's not the seal. The door is caddywhompus. Icing Seems to be slowing with just the seal out of it's groove slowing the air leak by filling the gap.. Doesn't seem to be hindering the 'magnetic' function a bit. I think I'll go ahead and add some foam stripping in lieu of tearing the hole dam freezer apart. Then if that doesn't work I'll give you a call....
  9. I have the same problem with my 'on the bottom freezer'. The ice is building up because the door seal is leaking. When you close it check to see if one side is a little separated from the door face. It's like the door slides are sprung, or something 's blocking it from going all the way in. I've tried to find the blockage, but nada... I'm thinking of just adding a foam strip for the gap. At first the whole freezer would ice over in a couple of days, but I pulled the seal out of the track slightly and now it's only one side and taking three to four weeks before getting bad. Home Depot=weather stripping. The rest of the refer works great including the ice maker.... This is just a suggestion. Could be other problems??
  10. I stopped shopping WOOT because the new owners... Amazon I think??.... didn't have the same business direction that the original owners had. It became more of a dumping ground for more Amazon products at not much of a discount. It used to be fun. Now it's boring, and I wrote it off.
  11. But.... they all pop up when searching 'new posts'.... And since I own both Gens....
  12. My bad... I thought we were talking about a second gen...
  13. Dang Puc, it's gone viral.... 35 views so far!!....... That was a great day. Every thing except the gravel... Did I ever mention I hate gravel..... I did send the link to all my non-local family just to show them I'm still pretty good lookin'....for an O.F... Thanks for posting it.... Let's do it again next year....
  14. When you pull a plug is it wet or dry??
  15. The one I used mounted right where the OEM sits. The connectors need to be changed out....
  16. Here's another 'trick' to get the diaphragms to stay in the groove. It's easy on a 1stGen. Not so on a 2nd. What's happening is the spring starts pushing the slide before the cap gets close to the housing and pulls the lip out of the groove. So.... remove the air filter and you can see the slides in the venturies. Take a long screwdriver and gently hold the slide so it doesn't move. Place the cap on the body. Remove the screwdriver. Piece of cake....
  17. What a great way to start the morning!! I love these iPhone productions. Puc, you and Tippy need to start a TV show. "The Adventures of the Pucster and Tippy, co-staring Tweek" Maybe if you post enough of these things you'll get discovered......
  18. I don't know what year they made a hitch change, but you might check to make sure one is available for that year that will work on your bike, as Bushtec doesn't support the older styles. I think they made three design changes??? BTW I see older Bushes going for as low at $1000 on CL locally. 2 is on the high side.
  19. Lean back all you want. You'll only be raising the back of the bike an inch or so. Shouldn't even notice the difference except for the low speed steering improvement...
  20. I would think if you get the training wheels up off the ground to suspend the rear tire you could break the bead on the rear tire enough to replace the stem... Not a big deal if you can get the bead to clear the center line of the rim. Deep clamps should work. Also some protection more for the rim than the tire....
  21. My daughter works as a cashier in a truck stop/station in Sault St Marie, Michigan, and they pump a lot of gas for those north of the boarder. We just talked about it last week. The Canadians get madder than 'H' because the pumps won't take their cards. She said it has something to do with their 'scan' chip that's put in them, and the pumps not reading it. Changing the card sounds like the only answer, as pumps in the US work off the magnetic strip. Or...suck it up and prepay....
