  1. I have a couple of 'projects' you can peruse through if you need something to play with....
  2. Aw, hell Puc. You like 'm all. Just like people.... Been watching that Indian as well. Looks good... The only bad thing I've heard about them...'course I'm not looking all that hard.... is the seats going bad very quickly, but I wonder if that's nothing more than the owners neglect, and not keeping them conditioned properly. New they look great. A little Farnam's Leather New and they'll stay that way. Me?? I'm waiting for a 2300cc V-6 Venture.
  3. Yeah the dew gets pretty heavy down here. Let it sit for a week and it rusts up.... Not sure, but I bet that rust will cause abnormal wear on the pads... Personally I'd search for a used OEM rotor off a later model..'90-'93.. and be done with it....
  4. The previous owner replaced the rear rotor on my '91. An EBC floater. All I can say it rusts up at the blink of a eye. I think the OEM's are stainless??
  5. Why don't you give hard shifting a shot. A lot of the wear comes from previous owners babying the tranny when shifting, and consequently rounding the dog. Sometimes just by banging the dog into gear will flatten the leading edge and keep it from jumping out of gear. I picked up an '83 that had the second gear clatter and after a couple of hundred miles it stopped jumping out of gear when under a load.... Of course it could be other problems, but it's worth a try...
  6. Great suggestion Coff.... Just finished the first half... the rest later. That is one very ancient 14 y.o. Too bad I'm not 60 years younger....
  7. You bring it out and I'll clean the bugs off for ya Puc.... And for being the brave soul that you are, the burgers are on me.... Just looking at that thing scares me. I want a trike that holds me up, not one that flops from one side to the other... Heck the Voyager scared the 'H' out of me the first time I rode it.... But I am getting better...
  8. Dang Mike... Why couldn't you have totaled a Midnight......
  9. OK, I gotta play devils advocate here. If the reason to trike a bike is to keep us OF's from falling over, and with this thing tilting that far over, why get one in the first place??? From the pics it looks like there's a good chance it'll keep going. Doesn't look safe to me....
  10. During summers in college I worked for Winthroth Pump Co.. One time in Tustin, Ca. we had to pull 360' of 20" column pipe in 20' sections with a set of bowls at the bottom, 250hp electric motor on the top, in 114 deg temp. Pull it, rebuild it, and reinstall. It was so hot the tools had to be tossed into a bucket of water or you couldn't pick one up if it sat for a while. :scorched:The pump was the only water supply for the entire town of Tustin... near Disney Land... and they only had a 2 day supply of water in the tank. WE...crew of three...did it, and when we fired the thing up I layed down in the water coming out while testing. God it felt good!! Yours should be a piece of cake....
  11. GROAN........!!
  12. Just wondering. I recently added a Voyager Kit to my '04RSV, and reading some posts they go through rear tires fairly quickly. So now I'm wondering.. even though I'm not a fan of car tires on a two wheeler, would it be OK since the bike no longer leans?? It might also increase the traction with a bigger footprint. There's a fairly fresh Avon on it now, and when it get's to the point of replacing, it might be something to consider.
  13. Randy, A better description might be pull on from the grip, pull off from the grip, pull on from the box, and pull off from the box. With no pic it's tough to 'see' which one you're refering to...?? I had one fray on the '99 and it bound up tighter than a frogs a$$.....
  14. As mentioned in a few previous posts, don't use Loctite on anything around ABS.... however if needed put a drop of the wife's clear nail polish on the threads and let it dry. Then tighten it up.... Works....
  15. It's not the seal. The door is caddywhompus. Icing Seems to be slowing with just the seal out of it's groove slowing the air leak by filling the gap.. Doesn't seem to be hindering the 'magnetic' function a bit. I think I'll go ahead and add some foam stripping in lieu of tearing the hole dam freezer apart. Then if that doesn't work I'll give you a call....
  16. I have the same problem with my 'on the bottom freezer'. The ice is building up because the door seal is leaking. When you close it check to see if one side is a little separated from the door face. It's like the door slides are sprung, or something 's blocking it from going all the way in. I've tried to find the blockage, but nada... I'm thinking of just adding a foam strip for the gap. At first the whole freezer would ice over in a couple of days, but I pulled the seal out of the track slightly and now it's only one side and taking three to four weeks before getting bad. Home Depot=weather stripping. The rest of the refer works great including the ice maker.... This is just a suggestion. Could be other problems??
  17. I stopped shopping WOOT because the new owners... Amazon I think??.... didn't have the same business direction that the original owners had. It became more of a dumping ground for more Amazon products at not much of a discount. It used to be fun. Now it's boring, and I wrote it off.
  18. But.... they all pop up when searching 'new posts'.... And since I own both Gens....
  19. My bad... I thought we were talking about a second gen...
  20. Dang Puc, it's gone viral.... 35 views so far!!....... That was a great day. Every thing except the gravel... Did I ever mention I hate gravel..... I did send the link to all my non-local family just to show them I'm still pretty good lookin'....for an O.F... Thanks for posting it.... Let's do it again next year....
  21. When you pull a plug is it wet or dry??
  22. The one I used mounted right where the OEM sits. The connectors need to be changed out....
