  1. Ready and waiting.... http://www.cast-aways.com/images/l27-11.JPG
  2. I'm posting these pics here as I couldn't add any to a PM to another member. They show where the idle screw covers are located on a set of 2ndGen carbs. I adjust mine off the bike and it wasn't all that easy to pry them off. I can imagine what a hassle it would be with them installed.... Anyway there are 4 black cones... could be brass... between the right and left bank.
  3. Great post Dave. Looks like you and Jan had a terrific time....
  4. It's been sunny and in the 100's here for the last 3 months.... Where's Harry Geise when you need him... Huh???
  5. :draming:Woke up this morning to a slight drizzle, and now it's raining like a cow pi$$ing on a flat rock. This will probably put out the King Fire up the hill, and the lawn might start to green up again... what's left of it.....
  6. Hallelujah!!!
  7. Dead.....
  8. The only reason a tire will cup is due to sidewall flex caused by low tire pressure....
  9. When working on Easy Riders RSMV earlier in he summer we used a HF jack I'd picked up used and one of Carbon One's adapters. The only issue we ran into was the adapter wasn't quite wide enough to sit flat on the pads of the jack and one side rested on the round rods, and it made the bike tilt slightly to the side stand side. Which might be a good thing, because when letting it down the bike would always tilt toward the stand instead of ending up in your lap. The jack did drop suddenly if the bleed was opened aggressively, but if you know this and use caution we could get it to settle down without an ooops moment. When up on the jack the bike was very solid. Removing bags or tires has not caused a balance problem for anyone that I've heard ....??
  10. My '07 groans in the morning.... Just like me. After the initial complaint it's fine. 45psi.
  11. Just received this Facebook message from my Grand Son in Iraq. If anyone wants to work with me out here in Basra, Iraq and you have military experience message me. My employer is looking for personnel. Basra is down south by the Saudi border. The pays excellent. David is a private security specialist. He did two tours with the army, and has been in Iraq on this new company for about three years now. He gets bored a lot, but smiles all the way to the bank....
  12. I think it's all in the riding dynamics of the bike design. CIP... I could flick my '83 all over the place with total control. Even low speed handling. My '99 is like plowing mud, and the '07 isn't much better. The difference in weight?? 'Bout 75 lbs. So they're both heavy. One is designed better. A lower fuel tank is one big reason. Another is the added weight of a fork vs. frame mounted fairing... Why does the second gen blow so many rear shocks and the 1stGens seem to last forever?? Design??
  13. Mine's an '06 Voyager that has that rectangular plate in the center of rear cross member. Check the pics out. Newer years are lower and run all the way across. The plate is attached to two uprights and blocks off the slip-ons. I guess leaving the plate off would be a short term option, but the turndowns gotta be the right answer.
  14. Yikes!! Well thanks for trying Ben.... The stuff my folks brought back from Canada was sealed in a plastic baggy still in the round and floating in beer, and it wasn't kept in a cooler when they took a week to drive back to CA. Maybe a different process cheese. Dang!! I was starting to drool....
  15. I get mine from Jake Wilson in Utah. Free shipping and they seem to be about the same price.
  16. My younger brother had a crush on her. Called her up and talked for over an hour.... Really enjoyed all the pics, and remembered every last one.
  17. The big difference between the two tires is the Reinforced is a Radial, and the other is a Biased Ply. I've always bought the Biased until switching to the E3....
  18. Me neither Dave. Mines an '06 model and they did make'm wider in later year productions. It's probably the main reason they went to a wider lower type rear 'bumper'?? If mine were lower the exhaust would clear. I think?? the plate was designed to hide the rear tire, and make it look more like a true trike conversion... I did pick up a set of rare Harley NOS turndowns off Ebay. I say rare since I haven't seen a set since.... anywhere... In later models they do have turndown tips for the newer exhaust. I just couldn't afford the Harley slip ons and the tips..., or anyone else's for that matter...
  19. These would be great as general raffle prizes. With a lot of effort we filled 3 banquet tables full of some really nice 'donations' at Cody. Many of them from our vendors here on the board. However there still needs to be a Special Grand Prize. Something that get's the juices flowing, like the trailer, something most folks have on their dream list. Something that will get folks a motivated to buy a ticket. Another thing we did is limit the amount of tickets sold so everyone was aware of his or her chances going in, and the tickets were cheap enough that everyone could afford one.
  20. How about an all expense paid cruise to Hawaii for two....??
  21. Pledge works great for cleaning bugs off the windshield, and wiping down the scoot, however it doesn't repel dust. MOF it may attract it....?? It also works good as an ant spray....
  22. Thought this was gonna be about shocks... didn't ya.... I received an eMail this morning with all sorts of suggestions on how to use Bounce... those smell good drier sheets. A lot of the suggestions had to do with static cling and how to use them to repel dust. So got to thinking. When my bikes are stored for a time the covers never seem to keep dust from getting up under the bottom edge, and it's always a job to dust it off before taking it for a ride. The next time I detail a bike, I'm going to give it a try and take a couple of sheets and wipe down the bike before putting the cover back on. I'll let you know if it works?? Also Bounce sheets can be use to repel critters and insects. I don't have the problem, but from what I've read here on the board, mice seems to like mufflers. A sheet stuffed up the tip will keep mice from making a home over the winter.
  23. I'll have to give that a try.... Thanks Brian...
