Here's what I've done. It may or may not work for everyone, but I bought a used pump off EBay for a pittance, and cleaned it up. Then bought a new set of points. Looked at the old set and they looked OK, but if they didn't, I would have swapped them out for the new set. So for about $30 bucks I'll always have a good set to R&R. I'll do the same thing to the bad set, and have another pump sitting in the wings ready to go for $30 to $35 bucks. The only reason I bought the used pump is that I wasn't thinking and tossed the old pump that I replaced with new OEM in the '07.

On the 1stGens, and I assume the 2ndGens as well, it's a pita, but if you insert the slave upside down, and then rotate it, the ear of the slave will slide behind the shift rod. Took a while to figure this one out, but for me it works and I've lost hair for other reasons....

When dropping a bike at 0 mph, you don't want to just let it go unless you want to end up replacing plastic. You don't want to fight it either, you're never going to stop it. It's more like guiding it down to rest, and really doesn't put a whole lot of pressure on the left leg or the knee. Don't ask me how I know that....

It's been out for a while now, and I've already seen it... in the movie 'Tron'.... Here's something that always bothered me about trikes that lean. Why have a trike?? 2 wheels would be a better performer if you have to lean to keep it upright. "Hey Joe!! Came to a stop and my trike fell over." PS: I hope Y would stop wasting their time and develop something more along traditional lines... Like...Ahem!... the Venture...

About '06 I bought an '83 that had been sitting outside in the weather for 3 years. No clutch, no brakes, and the battery was deader than a doornail. Wasn't sure if it was going to be parted out, or put back on the street. Running was the main factor. Put a fresh battery in her, sprayed carb cleaner down the venturies, turned the key and it coughed and ran for about 3 seconds before turning her off. Cool!! Poured fresh gas into the tank and a full can of Sea Foam. Started it again with the carb cleaner, and eventually she started to run on her own.... But like crap... Let it idle and the longer it ran the better it ran. Cleaned it up, bled the clutch and brakes, and took it on a 100 mile ride. I felt she even ran stronger than my first '83. Sold it a couple of months later. MOF I think I have a pic of both of them in my gallery... 'Double Trouble'.... BTW I never did flush out the tank...

All of the above are great suggestions on what to look for, but you mentioned that you haven't addressed the fork pressures yet, and that's what you should have done first thing. Uneven fork pressures with cause a variance in how the forks will react under compression in cornering....

Back before I bought my first RSV the local Honda Dealer had a 2006 Strat on eBay with an opening bid of $7100. It had a bunch of Corbin add ons, and was immaculate. The starting bid is what it went for, and I was that close to pulling the trigger and tossing a bid at it, but chickened out at the last minute due to a lite wallet. Later I wished that I had. I really liked that bike... Who knows it might have been a life changing experience.

After wiring the ISO into my '99 it fit down along side the battery box. You might want to pick up one of M61A1MECH's wiring adapters rather than splicing into the existing wires...

While catching a rerun of the 2007 Eric Clapton CrossRoads Concert I ran into a set that really grabbed me. The Group was the Tedeschi Truck Band, and their lead singer is Susan Tedeschi. I'd never heard of them before, but I'm a fan now... I love a soulful singer and great guitar. This set had it all. Found a cut on YouTube. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
