  1. LOL I have so many great grands that I don't even try to keep count.... another self defense mechanism for old age. Someone in the family told me I have one great-great??.... so far ... :-)
  2. I refuse to believe that I have a daughter that's retired, and will be 60 in a couple of months.... Damn!!!!!!!! http://www.cast-aways.com/images/OldCodger.jpg
  3. That'd be one way to light 'm up without having to be an electrical engineer.... Just don't get too carried away. I've seen a few that had way more than necessary and looked 'junky'...
  4. Prayers up for peace and understanding....
  5. Merry Christmas... May your day be joyful during this day of celebration... http://www.cast-aways.com/images/christmaswish.gif
  6. All joking aside, the best part of the whole thing was hitting the Outback Restaurant on the way home and piggin' out on a Bloomin' Onion... Ate the whole dang thing.... Gotta prime the system...
  7. I just found a better and easier way to find your number. View your profile page. It appears just before your handle in the page address. Ron, you have been around for a while. #37 Just in case you have a burning desire to know... :-)
  8. OK, this is what I just taped..it's not raining... H=19", W=19", L=23". This is for the entire footprint of the motor, sans carbs, including covers etc. The drive shaft is offset from the center line of the valve cover 3.5". This may help...or confuse... I have a habit of doing that... :-) Like Don said, pics of the project would be great...
  9. As soon as it stops raining I'll put a tape to the engine I have on the side of the house. Do you just need HWL dimentions... Or???

    ACF-50

I never had either. Me thinks I need to add a can to the chemical warfare shelf...
  11. Besides the AD issue, there,s the difference in calipers and mounting issues...
  12. I've enjoyed watching this project come together. You've put a lot of quality work in it, and a shame it's not gonna cross the finish line.. You might want to let folks know what you'd need to get out of it...

You're not alone there Mr Puc.... Old age takes it's toll and there ain't nothin' we can do about it.... We ain't immortal any more...
  15. Great idea Puc... For what it's worth a hybrid is the only way to go... Maybe a 90cc powered generator charging a bank of AGM's pushing two EV motors on a touring scoot... High MPG's, plus long distance... Can you imagine what it would be like to not have stop every 150 miles for gas?? Except for potty breaks...
  16. That's what I need to be.... A puddle jumper... :whistling: :whistling:
  17. Nice group of guns ya got there. I'm partial to the 686 myself. A 686-3, and a 686-6 Pro Series Plus. One of these days i'll find a 586 in blue....?? Just because... :-)
  18. I've been thinkin' about using a heavy leather buffalo hide riding jacket that I no longer use for welding. Closes up at the neck and protects the arms. Plus it fits my portly frame quite well... :-) I do wonder if SPF lotion would work on the adams apple tan?? I get to go pick up the Lincoln here in a couple of hours... Looking forward to playing... :-0 It's gonna be a couple of days before using. It show'd a 10# spool in the pics, but the label is on the back side... I think?? I just guessed that it was flux since the tip is set up to do flux... no gas hood... If not I'll be in the market for a bottle.... Maybe two??
  19. A lot of that stuff is available from Harbor Freight. That'll probably be my first shopping trip... After I take a look at the wire feed problem... I will go GW in the future.. Probably a 75/25 mix... That seems to be the most popular... But for now and some of the outside odd jobs I have the FC should do... Don't really care if they're ugly welds... :-)
  20. I've been studying YouTube a lot in the last week.... What did we ever do before it came along?? I used to take my stuff up to the muffler shop... For $5 bucks they'd tack a bunch....
  21. But I guess I'm gonna have to learn.... :-) Picked up this Lincoln 140C Mig in an auction yesterday. It's reported to have a wire feed problem, but I do know how to wrench... They also had a Millermatic 211 but being a frugal sort I saved about $600 going this route. For the few odd jobs I need it for, it didn't make sense to And although it will do gas/wire I'll probably stick to flux-core....
  22. At the top of the page after logging in, click on your 'welcome' handle and look at the page address in your browser address bar. Your number should appear right after your handle.
  23. Thanks for the heads up... Somebody's gonna do a happy dance..... :-)
