The post by Squeeze page 1 has a link that doesn't work and Crazyhorse refers to numerous pics but no links or pics. Hope this helps. -

Battery Bypass, Right Wire?

Prairiehammer: What's the grey box just above the ACC relay? Great job and very impressive. -
Battery Bypass, Right Wire?

Prairiehammer: According to my service manual covering 86-93 xvz1300, the battery sensor wire is suppose to be the white with red stripe. Can't find any mention of the green with blue stripe for the sensor. -
Battery Bypass, Right Wire?

Well, tried resistor links 1.5k, 2.2k, 3.9k, 22k. Went directly to positive BAT post. Although difficult to tell manufacturer quality, since seems resistors had very inconsistent ohms. The only consistent link, for getting rid of the BAT icon, was the 3.9K. The 2.2K and 22K worked for a while then the icon came back. Then I reinstalled my auxiliary lights, as per the diagram attached. I did include an indicator LED light when the toggle is on. Wiring_Lights_3.pdf What I cannot explain, is the headlight icon showing after the BAT icon was gone. The weird part is that found out that the indicator LED was redundant, since the Display headlight icon comes on when the auxiliary light toggle is off and goes out when toggle is on. Can't explain why, which is perplexing. Thoughts?? -

Is it best to go to the ACC or direct to the positive BAT post with the resistor link? Not sure why most of the info on resistor size on forums states 1K to 2K then. -
Battery Bypass, Right Wire?

Disconnected all the ACC extras to eliminate anything extra. What I can't figure out is why if I disconnect the battery resistor lead the headlight icon goes out, but with it connected BAT icon goes out but the Headlight icon comes on. Also, measured the resistors. It seems the resistor ohms measure about 50% of rating (ie. 1.8K measure just under 900 ohms). Is that normal? Should I be replacing the resistor with one that actually measures 1K to 2.2K ohms resistance? -
Battery Bypass, Right Wire?

FreeBird: Just tried the bypass but although the battery icon goes out, it triggers the burned headlight icon to come on. So still red flashing light. If I remove the bypass the headlight warning goes out and the battery icon comes back on. Any ideas? -
You mentioned ground under seat/trunk, does the trunk have to be removed?

Found the right side engine ground, cleaned with die grinder wire wheel on engine and ring. Can't seem to find the other 2. Are they frame grounds with multiple wires?

New Fuse Box Help

Appears the link is dead. Is the kit information somewhere else? or No longer available? -
Thanks to all who responded! I have a 92 Venture Royale, thereby making it 1st Generation MK2 I guess. Finding previous owner(s) have spliced into wiring causing issues with RLU and red fault light and headlight fault. It also has an amber light on the rront fender spliced into the signal circuit. These are not pleasant systems to find electrical faults. Very time consuming and frustrating. To date, I've not even had it on the road where it needs to be given are very short riding season here.

As a relative newbie to Venturerider, having some difficulty with terms used by members in general. There is alot of information but unless terms used are unilateral, difficult to determine relevance. Can someone define the following terms, used consistently? 1st Generation (1stGen)?? 2nd Generation (2ndGen)?? Passing Lights (vs Driving Lights)??

Thanks, watched your RLU video previously. Mine is in a different location, dead centre, behind cluster even with top of the headlight. What's the best way to test the RLU for defect? Looked at connectors and cleaned RLU, Headlight, nothing really appeared to be dirty (or green cobwebs) or other signs of oxidation. On another note: Has anyone ever tried to fool the RLU or other safety circuits using diodes for any auxiliary components? In my case, using a diode on the headlight wire before the switch, thereby not allowing the headlight circuit to know there are other lights. Seen diodes used on auger motor electric clutch systems to prevent any feedback to the ignition system.
