  1. sounds like a lot of HOT air to me
  2. I would like to buy a used pet carrier, maybe a Road Hound for a 18 LB dog, a terrier type.
  3. I pulled my Met 880 off yesterday and it was very apparent that the center of the tread was almost gone and much less ware on the sides. This would indicate that either I never lean the bike or there was too much air pressure in the tires for the load. I am very careful to maintain 42 psi in the rear tires, ( by the way, the front which I keep 35 psi in were worn very evenly ) This has got me very wondering, what pressure should I be using in my new Avon's. I appreciate Rednecks response but though I would see what Avon had to say, below is my question and there responce Hi Ed, Use the pressures recommended in your handbook. For 2 up or 2 up with luggage, add 2-3 psi front and rear. Best regards, Peter J McNally M/C Technical Product Manager 01225 357753 www.avonmotorcycle.com From: Ed McChain [mailto:emcchain@hotmail.com] Sent: 30 January 2008 12:48 To: McNally, Pete J. Subject: correct tire pressure I have a Yamaha Royal Star Venture and have just installed Avon Venom tires. My question is do I put Max pressure front and rear( ie 42 & 50 ) as shown on the side wall or do I use pressure as called for in the bike owners manual. the original tires were either Bridgestone or Dunlop. Please give me recommended pressures for both one up and two up. Thank You Ed McChain
  4. So is the consensus here that one should follow the tire MFG specification on air pressure or the bike MFG air pressure specification?
  5. I don't think the law prohibits 2 abreast at the stop light, I think that is encourages to decrease congestion, I think there talking about riding down the road side by side and on the super highways this may be safe but Va has a lot of 10 foot wide lanes with no shoulders. You bike is nearly 4 ft wide. do the math then swerve for a dead something is the road. i would want to know the guy real well before he ride beside me!
  6. I thank you all for the input, there is a wealth of knowledge and experience in this group.
  7. I have never had much experience with wobble but I would expect that there are some do's and don't should it happen. Let's just say for the sake of discussion that one is going down the road, say at a nice comfy 60 mph , jacks it up to 75 to pass and wow, it starts wobbling like crazy. I suppose the first thing would be to let off on the gas. How about breaking? Is the an excepted procedure? I ask because years ago I had a blowout, and not a clue what to do, I hit the break, wrong way and wrong time to find out, so I thought I would get the jump on it and ask about wobble.
  8. I have a small dog, 16 lbs, and have had him on the bike with me a few times. He seems to like it and was wondering if anyone could suggest a good carrier or perhaps knows of a used one.
  9. Rosdkill is right on, they are a great safety devise. In a strange city, it can get confusing and with traffic not having to navigate is a real help. The directions you may get from the rear passenger may be hard to understand and again take your concentration. You should stop to program them or thay could be dangerous
  10. Thanks Kit, seem like Alpha Mirror need some competition
