  1. OK, I will try again to post the pictures. As you can see, he use to ride in the box, he had a harness on and a line came from the bottom of the box to the bottom of his harness. This worked well, for 1 dog but I could not work out any thing for 2 dogs that wouldn't tangle..The modified uni-go seemed to be the thing, I have a plywood false bottom inserted in the wagon about 10 inches down and got a defective lid from Uni-go and made the rest from 1/2 inch metal strap riveted together. the windshield is boat plexi glass and the black cover comes off and is just for more cold weather protection. I Don't think noise is a factor because the pipes are way below the false bottom and there is a 3 inch pad on the bottom. as far as exaust fumes, ther is no indication of soot an the wagon or windshield. Could be a factor in very long in town rides i guess
  2. I will try again soon to post the pics , sorry no time tonight. Thanks for you help Freebird
  3. Well this is my first try at posting some pictures, I think I have uploaded the pictures and if I have you will see that I have a Uni-go single wheel trailer, works well and I have pulled it about 3K to date. We use to have just the one Border Terrier (Connor) and he rode on the back in a box or in the box on the luggage rack if Mary Ann was along. This worked great and drew a lot of looks and picture taking. We we got another Border Terrier (Piper) and the box was just to small and the luggage rack shouldn't have 40 lbs on it . Need, the mother of invention, Put a removable floor in the Uni-go and made the metal cage, added a little canvas work and there you have it. The dogs love it and now they both can go. Just got back from 6 weeks in Florida and they probably rode over a thousand miles in it, Just say "Motorcycle" and they jump in
  4. I have a Venture dad hitch annd a single wheel (Unigo ) trailer that I have pulled I would guess about 3000 miles. I used a nut on the stinger as well as threading it in to remove all slop. All seem to work fine, I have hauled with 70lbs of camp gear and also made a new lid with a false floor and windshield to haul my two Border Terriers. Works great. If i knew how to post a few pictures i would
  5. I have been having trouble with these people, so I say watch out if you decide to do business with them.. Seem I got a quote on a loader to load my RSV into the back of my pickup truck in early Nov. We will be hauling a travel trailer and want to take the bike with us. I told them on the 13 of Nov that I would take a demonstrator loader that they were marking down $200 from the list price. I was to meet them in Harrisburg VA on the 16th and they would install .. Seems Installer couldn't make it then could do the next day, too busy because he was going out west for the rest of the week. Meantime I found that the loader does not sit flush with the end of the bed or tail gate but hangs out 1 1/2 inch. This is not how it is described on there web site and makes it unusable for me. I called and canceled my order on the 18th. Well, this is where the trouble started, first they would have to see if it could be canceled, then yes it was, but they could not credit back to my credit card until they sold the unit to someone else. After many phone call they finally on the 27th sent me so call verification that they had credited back my money. So far as of today my credit card company is unable to find this so called credit back.. I have contested the charge and the story is to be continued. These are not people to do business with, I am concerned they couldn't credit back because they are financially unable. Time will tell.. Ordered a Rampage loader, installed it and it's great. I can load the bike on the truck in less than ten minutes including strapping it down and unloading is even quicker. Added bounes is it was $500 cheaper and that included freight.
  6. sure is great to just ask and get so much help from all you guys, than again
  7. I am needing to buy an expensive cover for my RSV, can any one suggest a good one and the size I need. Thanks
  8. not to bash BMW, but the only whine I here is when I ride behind a BMW. I hear all about transmission whine on this site but the whine from our RSV is nothing compare to he BMW
  9. I have been waring one for about a month now and did two trips of about 1500 miles and another of about 600 and I love it. The weight and fitment is about the same as my previous Caburg and yes it's a little heavy, but i love the way it flips up. The internal sun sheild makes for poor sun glasses because it doesn't come down far enough. I think that I will just darken it with tape or paint an use it as a sun visor. I think that that is all it was designed to be but they should have made the lens solid or black as as to be a shade. If you ride a crotch rocket they could be used as sun glasses
  10. No, this is not an advertisement for Uni-go trailers. I bought one of these things last spring and I thougt I would pass on my observations. In short, I love it. Just returned from a six day trip with wife and full trailer, no baggage on the bike. Before we got the uni-go we would go on a trip with all the usual plus about 40 lbs of gear in the trunk and on the luggage rack, it was OK but, yes a little top heavy to say the least. I find that with all the luggage in the trailer the bike handles better, there is no noticeable handling differance with or with out the unigo and no top heavy bike. In short , although we can put all the luggage on the bike, I like hauling the trailer and an empty bike better. one just has to plan on where to park so you don't have to back up, otherwise you can't tell you are hauling it
  11. Thanks for your comments.
  12. Looking for some help on my sound system. The bike is an 06 RSV and the sound from the system is intermintent in the left ear in the head set , both rider and passanger. I have two helmets and have eleminated any problem there. I do not know if the problem extends to the speaker and don't know if in fact the system is sterio when in the speaker mode. I have checked all obvious connections and applied dielectric grease to all connections and then taped them together. can anyone suggest where else I might look for the problem. If I don't find it I will take the bike to the stealer this winter (dread) I hate to let them near a fine motorcycle. thanks for you suggestions
  13. The kit that comes with the bike is low quality. I suggest you can make up your own kit for less than the one at JCwhitney
  14. Loved your story
  15. Well, just got back from a great trip to Vogel and I see some oil coming from the rear shock. Couple of questions, am I correct that the material and labor should be covered by warranty, the bike is an 06 ? Second thing, would I be wise to remove the trailer hitch before the dealer sees it ?
  16. I had a great time, thanks to all who set this up and to those who came and made the it all worth while. I will be looking forward to the next event
  17. I have the gold wing one on my '06 RSV, regularly carry 25 lbs and no problem,
  18. I'm going to be there at the State park some time on Wednesday, Camping but not cooking. Hope there is a good restaurant near by. I'll have to leave some time on saturday or sunday early for sure. Have to be home for Monday morning. Any one from VA near Richmond riding down??
  19. I just called 4 dealers in the Newport News,Richmond, Fredricksburg , Va area and got the following prices for just valve adjustments: $280,$280.$237.$450. It would seem that for those of us whose bikes are still under warranty that this might be a good thing to have the dealer do. When I look at the cost of the tool and the kit and extra shims and the fact that this is somthing that I will only do lets say now and then again at say 100,00 I may not be worth it. I will admitt though that taking my bike to a dealer scares the crap out of me, i had them do the required 600 mile check but now 48000 I've done everything else myself. As I said in an earleir post, I would like to do it if we could get a group together.
  20. Are there a few riders in the Richmond/ Fredricksburg, Virginia area that would like to get together and buy tool and shim kit to do this work? There or four going is together would ease the pain and a little get together to do the work would be fun.. any Takers ?
  21. Thanks for the replys
  22. Could some on tell me which pads are best to order and from where. Need both front and rear pads for 06 RSV. thanks
  23. can some on tell me where the fuse for the cigerette lightes is? it does not seem to be in the fuse bow under the seat. Also what is the max fuse it would be safe to use
  24. We I think safety is most important. I had a rear tire blow out many years ago and I never want another one. I get 14k out of Avon on the rear and would get about 19k n the front but I change them both at the same time. When I have to trade safety to save money I'll take up another sport. I ride a RSV and am looking forward to anti lock breaks on my nest bike.
  25. Had a great time, thanks to all involved in putting on the M&E. Good to meet the gang, I'm sure MaryAnn will make the next one with me, we are looking forward to it. Got home to Urbanna about 8:30, 452 miles round trip, great ride and not very tiring because it was broken up with lots of stops to rest and talk, thanks to all.
