  1. Awesome... thanks!
  2. You wouldnt know about anybody at Diamond R to contact to see if they have any "left overs" would you?
  3. Dont want the Rivco chrome (and heard there were possible quality issues? and the price is high for me). But I am looking for an actual 2nd Gen stand, not a retrofit of a 1st gen stand. Did Yamaha even offer this... or anybody else out there track one down ?? Figure for my use, under the bike, I want black for the dirt and grime.
  4. Look forward to getting them off the '86. Still cold here and it will keep me busy! Thanks everybody!

    I Hate Wax !!

Turtle makes a Black Wax. I used this on my '99 RS Tour Classic. Have also used it on black cars, etc. I have always been very happy with my results. Goes on black, dries black, buffs off black.....
  6. I need somebody to send me the bolts off the 1st Gen to see what I can put together for you. And some photos of the inside of the saddlebags. First person who is willing to do this for me, gets a free set!! (but you have to give me some information about how well the fit and finish is after I send it to you). If I am going to do something, I am going to do it right. We built a set for a 2000 Honda Shadow Aero. So it can be done for other bikes and models. And best of luck with finding the hardware. You can buy the bolts at a hardware store, but finding button heads to fit... that is the key! Took us a little while to find just the right heads.
  7. Thanks! Do those other groups keep track of how many bikes are in their clubs? Or, how many bikes Yamaha produced? I was thinking that Yamaha might have some kind of counts, but I could find nothing at all... Anybody know the web sites for the Asian or European clubs??
  8. Anybody ever wonder, or know how many 2nd Generation RSV's Yamaha has built? Saw a post that there were almost 4k members of this club.... tried a Google search, but no luck. Anybody have any idea??
  9. The only difference I have found is the markings Yamaha puts on the side. They appear to be the exact same.... and completely interchangeable....
  10. Thanks! The other complaint I had was running the MP3 wire into the faceplate of the tape deck. Hate to admit that I just had not thought about moving the plug in location... and leaving the tape deck door shut never to open it again.
  11. I wonder if anybody has removed their tape deck from their 2nd Gen RSV, and replaced with a CD player or found some type of MP3 player that actually can be modified to fit behind the tape deck cover. I dont know who uses the tape deck out there, but I never have on my bike. I have no interest in the cd changer option... and current plug and play my MP3 player through the plug in.... Anybody know if somebody has done anything like this??
