  1. Glad you didn't go down. I hate sand and gravel, we get a lot of it here when it rains .
  2. I don't know about the cruse control but I have had the fins off mine a few times and just use a 1/4" ratchet to tighten them up. Haven't had any trouble with them.
  3. I will weight till next year, then I will start to look a little harder for a new bike. And it is a short list. Victory and Indian.
  4. A few weeks ago I had picked my son up from work and headed home. When we got to our exit off I-81 I saw a bike on the side and stopped. He was removing his rear wheel, had a flat. I told him that I had everything in my garage to fix it and balance the tire. He said no thanks, he d had every thing with him to do that. It was a very hot day so I had my son to go over to the BP gas station and get us something to drink and stayed with him till he was on the road again. I won't leave anybody on the side of the road.
  5. Sorry to hear this, prayers and condolences to the family.
  6. Have you cleared your trip log recently? Mine would freeze up till I started clearing mine.
  7. You all did a great job.:thumbsup2::thumbsup2:
  8. Not quite but some times we feel like it.
  9. I put a Zumo 665 on my bike the first of April. Someone needed it more than I did.I got a 660 now and don't need the XM antenna. Send me a PM and we will talk.
  10. Well the wife and I have been together 40 years today. Was going to take a ride back to where it all began but work and weather put a damper on that so I guess we will just snuggle up and have some pop corn and watch some of our favorite shows till she has to go to work.
  11. I may be interested in a Hog hunt. Haven't used my 308 Win. for awhile.
  12. I went and tried it again in the test area and think it worked.
  13. Just tried a new one for mine. Didn't work.
  14. Only 1 or 3 THOUSAND times.:rotf::rotf::rotf:
  15. +1 for Jake Wilson, I get all my tires there.
  16. I have the OEM deflectors and like them. I got them used and the plastic is cracked a little where they bolt on. I did shave them at the top so they would match the line of the fairing a little better. They do a good job in the rain and move the heat of the motor away when it is hot.
  17. It would help to know what bike the trunk is for. I have seen a couple Road Stars with a Harley trunk.
  18. Good for you. A friend and I went to pick up his granddaughter, told his wife he would be back in 1 1/2 hour. That was at 12:15 she called at 5 :30 to see where we were, told her we were 20 minutes away and he got home at 7:30. We just love these Wv. back roads.:cool10:
  19. That my friend was a disaster. It would never happen at my house though, it would not last long enough to hit the floor.:rotf:
  20. Dan go back further and you will see that Harley sold or made a deal to Japan to build the bike there. Japan had bought the rights and machinery to make the bike ,but not under the Harley name plate. This was in the early to late 30's. Harley polled the plug when Japan invaded China in 38 or 39.
  21. Happy Birth Day Bob and many more to come.
  22. Hope you have a lot of time to spend at Barber, last time I was there we spent all day there, but we did watch the races.
  23. Jay I think you will have to get a set of lights off a Road Star. Yamaha made two driving lights for these bikes.
  24. You will have to remove the fairing and windshield. You will see the radio, it's the black box, remove it. Four 8 mm bolts and it will slide out the right side. the Tape deck is under the radio. There is two 10 mm bolts (one on each side and two Phillips head screws behind the door of the tape deck. You can unplug the controller from the radio and leave the radio in the bike, It will not be hard to re install if you decide to later. You may have to loosen the top headlight bolts to give you room th get the tape deck out. Hope this helps ,it's been a while since:080402gudl_prv: I did mine.
