Most new guns do not have open sights. Drilled and taped for scope.

I got the new gun on Friday and the rings on Monday. Now I should get the Nikon scope in a couple days. This new Kimber with rings weights 5.13 lbs. with the scope on it should weight 6.14 lbs. Can't stand not being able to see how it shoots.

Tom I am sorry that the wife and I will not make the rally this year. Things have come up and we have to change our plans. Hope every one has a great time at this new venue. We will see what next year brings and maybe we can make it there. -
Well yes we could use some, it is a little dry around here. do you thing you have that hi temp stuff perfected. If not a little rain will do fine.

I got the new Boyd's custom thumb hole stock for the 308 today. Now I weight for a call to pick up the 280 later this week.

I have been trying to get that M1 from my brother for close to 30 years but no go.

My older brother had a 300 Savage for a long time then traded it for a M1 Garand. He still has it but does not shoot any longer.

Walked up to mine and stroked the tank bib a few times and said soon real soon.

I don't know what powder you use butt H870 at 74.0 gr. should put you at around 3088. I have found that you can load a little hotter than the Nosler book says. According to the Nosler book mine will be at 3196 with RL22 at 63 gr. and I can do a little better.

Who makes the Legend 350. I haven't heard of it?

Skid I had a couple of them. Just could not get a good feel for them.

I plan on the Nosler Partition 140. Vol should be 3200 or better. That is about what my 7 mm does with 150 gr. And my 300 win. Mag. is around 3350 with 150 gr.

Jack I will let you know how it shoots. If it shoots close to my 300 Win. Mag. I will be a happy camper as it shoots 1/2 in. or better at 100 yards.

Jack that is a nice looking rifle. Do you know what it's weight is? I have owned a few Magnums and this is as close as I have found to the 7 MM mag.

Just thought I would give an update on this. I finally pulled the trigger on a new Kimber Hunter with stainless action in 280 Remington Ackley Improved. The weight is actually what I was interested in with a new gun and this one is 5.13 lbs. without scope and rings. With scope and rings it will be around 7.4 lbs. I can live with that.

Like I said earlier we do not have a DQ near us But we have Nutter's. There soft serve is great and a small is bigger than most places have large. And prices are decent.

We Don't have a DQ near us so it doesn't matter if it is sweet or not , we can't try it to find out. :crying:
