  1. I installed mine a little different than most have. I cut the bags apart and then drilled through the windshield and each bag then mounted each bag separately.

    See attached pics.

Eck that is how I mounted my bags but I only have the two on the sides of the shield.

  2. If I were 5 + hours from Lake Erie I'd have gone for a ride also but having a stash of perch in the freezer makes NOT riding a couple days WAY worth it.

Well I could go 3 hours west of me and go fishing in the river behind my brother, he has been catching trout in the 7-10 pound range. That makes for some good fillets.

  3. Don I was thinking of retiring last spring but didn't. I got the wife a new Mustang as she drives almost 100 miles to and from work each day. Turns out she doesn't like driving it. She says it is too hard on her knees getting in and out so I drive it and she the Explorer. I am going to retire at the end of May and then go to work on the Honey dos around the house. Then I may take up hunting and fishing again if I have the time. We would like to travel on the bike some but until she retires it will be limited to a week at a time.

  4. Turtle, I have 51k on mine. Love my bike but I would like something different.

Big Lenny, I don't sugar coat. That is the problem with todays society. Everyone needs sugar coating and polical correctness. It just boggles my mind at how every year somebody starts this type of thread and then all you here is "I talked to this guy and he said this or that". I hope Yammy does come out with one for the masses. That way all the hoping and praying goes away. I am not trying to be a jerk but.......it is my nature.....ask my wife! As I stated though, I hope they get you boys a new touring bike but I really think you will be dissapointed on Christmas morning.

I am with you on a new bike. But what I am looking for is a trike. I will keep the RSV to ride till I think it is time to give it up. Then it will go to my oldest son and his wife. I may let them ride the RSV some while I take the trike out.

  5. I have decided to wait till next year and the bike I get will probably be Goldwing trike. If I can not find what I am looking for in My price range I will trike the RSV. That way I will stay with a water cooled bike and plenty of dealers.:rotf:

  6. I test rode a Indian Roadmaster when it was about 90+ degrees in Concord, NC. It was a hot ride when we slowed in traffic. I didn't care for the gearing after my RSV and RSTD that I still ride.

So, being 65 and trying hard to retire, wife and I decided to start looking for a GW trike for spring. Well then you start looking a Cycle Trader, Ebay and Craigslist. Oh dang, found one on Craigslist just down the road.

Things worked out and, well we got an early spring. GW Trike time.

Will keep the RSTD, that's MY ride. But will make sure I did the right thing and then sell the RSV. (But the RSV is a smoother ride than any trike.)

That is a nice looking trike. Is it white or light silver? Hard to tell in the pics.
