Hi Puc glad to hear from you. The hand is doing great. The doc didn't put a hard cast on, he said it would heal without it. Just taped two fingers together and wrapped the hand. As for the oral surgery I had to go in Thursday to get a little more nip and tuck. Now a couple weeks of healing for the swelling to go down so I can get the new chops.

If you shut off the gas and run the carbs dry when parking for a while that will happen and most times we do forget to turn it back on.

Why we ride. Good question. For me I will answer that now as I didn't in my first post. My wife will not let me sell it. I was it a bad crash in 72 and spent four months in a full body cast. When I was let out of the hospital I still had a cast on my left leg to my hip and wore it till early spring of 73. While in the cast I decided to rebuild the bike. All went well till I was able to ride it. I could not let out on the clutch. The fear of crashing hit me like a hammer so I sold the bike to my brother for $50.00. After the wife and I got Married we were at his house and she wanted to go for a ride but not with anyone but me. She talked me into trying and the rest is history.

Dan you can't burn rubber at every take off and expect to get a lot of miles out of them. :Laugh:

It all depends on what road I am on, four lane I will 10 over posted speed and two land I run speed limit most of the time but do like to ride as if I am leading a group of new riders on twisty roads.

Yes the 1217 that I quoted was for the insurance from where I work but that would end when I turn 65 in July this year. I will go on Medicare with a part B supplement it will cost me $156 a month. That is not too bad from what the quotes that I was given from other company's but still leaves the wife with out any insurance. The only thing we can do at this time is get Obamacare for her as where she works does not have insurance for there employees. Since the only thing she gets from that company is a pay check she is going to retire in November of this year and tell them to stick it up there cazoo.

Can I come up to Canada and get my health insurance? I just got the paper work today from the company that has my insurance now but will loose next week. For my wife and I to be covered with the same insurance it will cost me $1,217 a month.

Not bragging but we have not had that much snow on the ground even if you add it all together. I have been able to ride at some point each month until I broke my hand.

If the bike is in good running condition I would change the oil and make sure the tires are good enough for the trip. Pack a change of cloths and hit the road.
