  1. Glad Shawn is going to be OK. Prayers up for him and the family.
  2. Ron I dropped my son off at the sheetz on rt 40 just after 8:oo AM. Did you turn and go down to I 70?
  3. As I was taking my son to meet a friend in MD this morning I spotted a two tone grey 2nd Gen on rt 40 just west of Hagerstown MD. then this afternoon I was going through Charles Town WV I saw a blond 1st Gen at a light.
  4. The news of Dans passing hit me very hard. I will miss him as all of us in this family will. Prayers out for his family .
  5. Carl glad it missed the house. That would have caused big damage.
  6. A good friend of mine had a C50 and road the heck out of it. She would ride it to Atlanta every year for 10 days and then all over WV. She sold it last fall due to health reasons or she would still have it.
  7. Yes that was a decent price for the new 18. My friend and his wife were looking at one in another color without the roof and they told him that he could get the roof added for $2,700. that was no rear fender and it was $700.00 more than the Grand Tour I looked at. But like anything else I would shop for a nice used one at a better price.
  8. Don the one we were checking on had the roof and rear fender on it. The only thing I would add would be a hitch. They gave me a price of $26,950 out the door.
  9. Yes Cha I road one at the 2015 WV SCRC rally in Bluefield. And Larry has offered to let me drive his. The good thing about the Sling is you do not have to have the MC endorsement to drive it here so the wife can drive it.
  10. A friend and I went for a ride on Tuesday and stopped at the Honda, Kawa and Polaris dealer. They had two new wings. One was the 7 speed auto and the other was Manual shift. Then we walked to the other end of the shop where they had the Slingshots. I looked them over real good and then I sat in the one with a roof that looked like a T top It was the best looking one that I have seen so far. It was a Limited Edition Grand Tour. I haven't been able to see or ride the SVTC yet but right now my would go for the Sling.
  11. Well Puc here in West by God years ago. When I was a lot younger if you were at least 18 years old you could go buy a gun from anybody with out a background check or sheriff contact. If you had the money you bought it and went on your way. Now it is a completely different story. You don't get a permit from the sheriff but when you go to buy any gun the dealer has to fill out the paper work and call in the info to get a federal background check. If you pass it you can walk out with your gun if you are a resident. If I buy a pistol out of state the dealer has to transfer it to a dealer in my home area of my choice for a fee of course. OH BTW WV has had an open carry law on the books since the 1800. Now that all has changed also. If you live in WV and do not have a felony charge against you, you can conceal carry without a ccw.
  12. Jim I use Toluene for removing tape and molding glue and it does not affect the paint.
  13. Joe Congrats on finally getting your new bike. From what I have seen from the pics she is a beauty. I do hope that you are able to make it to NC on her maiden voyage. Have you thought about route you will take?
  14. I had one that my son road for a few years until I got the V Star 1300 for him and his wife to ride. I never had a problem with it at all.
  15. First Pablo. Don't be afraid of not getting your money back if you decide to part it out. But I would not give up on it too hastily. If it is in the shape the owner says it is. I would check all the rubber lines for cracks from age. You will have to do a good carb cleaning and change the fuel filter and line while doing the carbs the bike should run. The air system should not keep it from running but that is opinion.
  16. Jeff have you thought about getting a temporary cover for use during riding time then put the bike in your building for winter storage? Just a thought. Something that can be put where you don't have to deal with the hill. Something like this. https://jet.com/product/detail/50483ba20f5043de837d2cfd43797d74?jcmp=pla:bng:nj_roc_gen_patio_garden_a1:patio_garden_outdoor_storage_shed_accessories_a1:na:PLA_333246443_1219358565790427_pla-4579809528185012_c:na:na:na:2PLA15&pid=kenshoo_int&c=333246443&is_retargeting=true&clickid=4da103f2-592c-4d05-afe7-bb91db40e7df&kclid=4da103f2-592c-4d05-afe7-bb91db40e7df&msclkid=d46cf9ce9b7418bf4156a32ad4df2093
  17. Dan you know you can't put light fixtures on water pipes.:rotfl:
  18. Congratulations Larry and hope you two have many more.
  19. Good one Jeff. Hurt my back just watching it.
  20. Glad to see you back up and riding Bert. I have had mine out a couple times so far but the slave is leaking a little. Got all the parts today so I will change it and all the fluids tomorrow. Then it will be ready for what ever direction I want to go.
  21. You can put my name on the list also. Chuck
  22. Jim putting Dyna beads in the rear is not hard to do without removing the wheel. I use a clear plastic hose that fits the valve and pour the beads in and then put a little air to the hose, The air will send them through the valve.
  23. I moved mine over to the other garage and put the Grizzly 600 in its place ( don't think I will need it to push any more :snow2: this year if Jeff can keep his fingers out of that white washer of his.
  24. You can run without the covers. A couple of my friends on another club have done this but instead of the Allan head bolts they used SS hex head bolts.
  25. I have Progressive on my two bikes. Just got my renewal for this year and it jumped up to almost double of last year. I will go to Allstate. I thought this would happen as Progressive did the same thing to my car insurance last year after I renewed it for the bikes. I went with Allstate for the cars with more coverage and saved enough to pay my home owners insurance.
