  1. I have seen those Daymaker LED headlights and from what I have read they are 30W low beam and 60W high beam. Isn't our wiring designed for 55W headlight?I have been using a 35W HID headlight at 6000K.

  2. Well, according to the specs on BikeZ, it is 104.5" long, 8" longer than my trailer. So, a uhaul will have to be rented. When I hauled my 89 Venture home, it was within 1" of the tailgate and I ended up loaded it diagonally to make sure the tailgate/ramp didn't rub against the trunk. I wonder if I could remove the trunk and turn the front wheel to make it fit.

When I brought mine home it was on an 8' trailer. With it tight against the front bar the rear contact patch of the tire was on the edge of the trailer. I did not turn the front wheel but that would have been better. As it was the load was a little tail heavy so I took my time coming down the road.

  3. The two stebels that I now have on my bike are definitely louder than the two wool horns that I had on it before.

Ron I heard something louder than both of your horns on the way home. I thought you and your wife were going to jump off the bike when that truck tire blew beside you. :yikes:

  4. Thanks Don and Eileen for another great weekend. Just walked in the door SOAKED. Would have made it home a lot earlier but had a short in the bike and it took some time to find it. NO it was not anything we did yesterday. It was a short in the trailer plug.

  5. I agree. It's better to have a little more air than not enough air.

Double check air pressure first, then move on to the neck bearings if the air doesn't work. They may need to be tightened up a bit and /or regreased and re-torqued. You can check by doing a flop test which requires you to lift the bike with a stand. Loose neck bearings can cause all kind of handling problems.

I did all of that when I did the front springs. Also I do not go by the manual for tire pressure. I try to stay just below the tire max PSI. I do run the 130 E3 on the front.

  6. When you get that figured out, Let me know. I have the same thing going on with my bike, but mine does the light wobble at highway speed. I just thought it was me as I have a slight balance problem from a ruptured ear drum.

  7. The battery on the Slingshot seems to go dead after sitting for about a week or two if not driven. I don't know if that is normal or if there is a problem but I'll look at it later. In the meantime, I decided yesterday to install a connector on it to plug in a battery tender when it's not being used. I do that on all my bikes and etc. anyway. So I went to Walmart to pick up a connector, removed the cover for the battery compartment, figured out the best way to get to a connection to install the connector, etc. They don't make it easy to get to on the Slingshot. Finally found a place and got it all hooked up. Then started looking for the best place to let it exit the compartment and make it easy to get to. Decided on where I thought would be the perfect place. Found a couple of nylon ties to secure it.

Reached under the frame bar in the location that I had decided on and guess what? That is when I found the existing battery tender connector that the previous owner had already installed. Grrrrr....... At least he and I agreed on the best place to put it. Then had to remove my new one and re-assemble everything.

Don my bike does the same thing, no problem with battery if I ride or start it every day or two. If it sets for a week it is too low to start.

  8. I have tried the Corbin, Saddleman road sofa and Mustang seats on mine and have gone back to the pillow tops that a friend gave me when he sold his bike and quit riding. I may try a Russell Daylong but I will keep my seats if I don't like the Russell. It is hard to beat the pillow tops.
