  1. That sounds like the best thing to do. The Scag mower that I have had a 22 hp on it. But when I got it from a friend he had bought the 25hp to put on it. He has a lawn service contract with the county schools board so he gets a great discount on lawn equipment . I an trying to buy the Scag Turf Tiger he has and let my son have this one.

  2. I have the same motor on my Scag zero turn but it is a 25 horse. I mow about 3 acers for the past two years. No problems yet. I am not sure if they make a different motor for commercial use or not.

  3. Yes the carbs will probably need cleaned if it has set for long periods and not run by the PO. Mine is an 03 RSMV with Barons 4-2-4 Pipes and have not done any thing to the carbs. I do most of my own wrenching and have 95,000 on the clock. When you get it running right it will be almost trouble free for many miles of smiles. If you have any questions about the bike don't be shy and post it here and someone will give you an answer.

  4. Welcome to the site. These bikes are on the lean side from the factory changing the mufflers should not cause the lean carbs. Sounds like it just needs a carb sync and ran. Adjusting the PMS screws will help with the lean carbs. Add some Seafoam to the gas will clean the carbs and keep it running great for a long time. I add a 1/4 can to mine every 3rd fill up.

  5. Am I missing something? Amazon wants to charge me $2.99 to watch this video or otherwise signs me up for Amazon Prime, for which I believe there is a monetary charge. If I had just clicked [watch video] without paying attention to the fine print, my credit card would have been charged and I would have been signed up for a recurring monthly charge.

I must have missed it also. I do not have or want Amazon Prime.

  6. There may be others besides myself that would really like to see/read some final answers concerning some things related to the the new Venture including things like the performance of it in it's "Sport Mode" (there have been rumors spread now that going into Sport Mode engages a turbo, changes the cam timing, remaps both fuel and ignition which increases the Horsepower from that of a 70ish horse 88 inch stock HD to that closer to the 120 horse V-Rod performance with enough umpth to lift the front wheel in the 1st three gears and break the back tire loose in 3rd gear just by rolling on the throttle) which has been claimed to wildly turn the beast into a muscle bike but also rumored to be nothing more than a throttle to throttle body ratio change. Also, IMHO, it would also be outstanding to read that someone has actually taken the bikes tempature with a infrared temp gun as there have been reports both ways that the 3rd Gen is actually cooler than any water cooled touring bikes sitting in traffic back ups when the ambients are above 100 degrees even though the other touring scoots engines (like the Gold Wing) are covered/shrouded with plastic all while others are still reporting that the bike definitely has heat issues in the same way HD and Polaris's Indian do..

All that said,, I wonder if those attending the NY Rally will be allowed to actually ride it and do some real life genuine comparisons or will the bike be treated like the demo's were at Sturgis last year when the demo riding was very monitored and looking for/asking for answers was not encouraged...

Just thinking out loud here but I wonder if members here KNEW that they were going to actually be able to do some actual comparing of this new scoot (as a group) that the NY Rally may just see record attendance :big-grin-emoticon::witch_brew::big-grin-emoticon:

Why don't you come to the rally and do your own test of the TC? I will bring my heat temp gum for you to use.

  7. Jeff is your 7MM factory or custom? I have a synthetic stock here that I took off my 7MM because the wife liked the wood stock better. As for grouping shots at 100 yds. I have two Rem.700 that do less than 0.600 at 100. both are factory. I did pillar bed both guns and reload all of my bullets. The 7MM does 0.528 and the 300 does 0.375. I do not shoot them at all during the summer months. Only a few shots to check scopes before hunting season.

  8. David I have no idea of the gun laws in Canada but I use to shoot sporting clays and trap on a weekly event at a few clubs near me. A lot of the shooters used O/U but I had a Rem.1100 with a modified chock that I got for $125.00. It looked like someone used it for a boat paddle for a while. I took it apart and had all the metal parts blued and refinished the stock myself. This was done in the mid 80s and I still have it. If I was to start shooting today and had to buy an O/U it would be a Ruger Red label.
