Congrats to your friend on the speed record. That's fast on an old Triumph. Fortunately plenty of room to slow down with those twin leading shoe drum brakes........ If you haven't seen it, go rent/find the movie World's Fastest Indian with Anthony Hopkins. True story and a must watch movie for any Motorcyclist or anyone for that matter. Now having been to Bonneville, you will have an appreciation what this guy went through getting himself and his bike there from Australia.
Yes quite impressive for a 650 non streamlined bike. I have the movie "World's Fastest Indian" on DVD. It was a 1920 Scout and the top speed then was 56 mph.

With the temps rising each year and dry conditions it is only going to get worse.

Yes Lenny mine is full coverage on both bikes +$2,000 extra for accessories on the RSV and $1,000 on the V Star.
-
I had insurance with Progressive for about 8 yrs. There auto coverage got out of hand and I switched to Allstate and saved enough to put coverage on my home for what I was paying Progressive. I also had my two bikes with them and they doubled the cost. I went to Allstate with them also. I pay $559. per year.

Yeah it is kind of odd. He has not been gone this long without a word since I have joined the group.

That pump looks like it should work. It looks a lot like mine ,but mine is black.

I'm thinking that a good shop needs to have dirty floors, cobwebs in the corners, lots of cobwebs, parts in all the spots not covered by running apparatus, lights here and more lights there with no real way to turn them off individually maybe, tools everywhere with an empty tool chest, left over pieces of projects long gone into history but yet could be handy somewhere down the road, a source of heating the place (best a wood fired stove) an old chair or two that will handle the bulk and weight of anybody, but that nobody ever uses,,,,,,, sorry, no pictures! and oH a fridge, doesn't have to work real well, but it's good for looks (everybody gets to look in it)
Dang it Carl you just described what my shop looks like. Except I have two chairs.

He had more luck than brains.

Doug how far do you have to run the cable to your shop? You may need to replace the CAT 5 with CAT 6 direct burial cable or your system will slow way down.

Here is to you BongoBob. WOW!!! 71

Jeff I have the Truck light phase 6 LED driving lights and they are brighter than the Silver star ultra that I had to put in at MD this year. From what I have heard, you can't get them any longer but the Day maker lights look real close.
-
I have LEDs in mine and they do not flash fast at all, no load resister but I did add the light bar under the trunk and turn lights on the forks and bags. Maybe that was enough load to make them work slower.
-
Yeah what Steve said on the flashers. The chrome air filters are out there but at double or triple the cost. As for the chrome switch cover IMHO you can do without it. It will blind you when you don't expect it. I had one on mine for a very short time.

Jack Prayers up for your trip to the Doc tomorrow and a speedy recovery.

Speaking of classic cars. It may not be one of the collectors yet but I have one that I have been working on for a few years now. It is an 86 Monty Carlo SS T top. It is about 90% finished.
-
Don you bring up fond memories. Mine was a 66 GTO. 389 2 4bbl carbs, 4 speed, 411 posy. It was Sunflower Yellow with black interior. One went across Mechim auction yesterday in Harrisburg, PA. $46,000 took it home.

I like the looks of the Nova. It is a shame they didn't put it out. I would have bought it when I bought the GS1000 and that was the last bike that I have owned till the Venture I have now.
-
I do not think Larry is making them any longer. He sent me a set that were not finished a year or so back.
-
Yep I have drug with the wife on board. Went into a 15 MPH up hill right hand curve at about 30MPH in third and the boards pinched my foot into the motor and did a good job on the pipes also. I take it easy in the curves now.

Did he offer you some slightly stale rum balls?
Those things don't last long enough to get stale.

I don't know about QS, BUT, the oil that got my 318 van engine after 160K miles was Penzoil. The mechanic who took the heads off and repaired them said he blamed the oil since it was paraffin based oil. Wax.
Don't know if that's true, but I haven't used it since and have had no problems with other vehicles for over 600K miles.
Quaker State regular is what had a lot of the wax in it. I have been using Penzoil synthetic blend for quite a few years without any sludge or wax build up.
-
+1 for Jeff and have a safe trip.
-
Never a problem with Rotella in any thing I have had. If you want sludge in your motor try Quaker State oil. That stuff is crap.

The wife and I did that tour a couple years ago. Glad you hade a fun and safe ride.
Home from WNY Rally 2018
in Watering Hole

We got home about 2:30. Thanks for a great rally and a big THANK YOU goes out to Bob and all the others for the help with the bike. Looks like I will have to replace the stator after all. The WNY crew did a great job as usual and hope to make it again next year.
