We got home about 2:30. Thanks for a great rally and a big THANK YOU goes out to Bob and all the others for the help with the bike. Looks like I will have to replace the stator after all. The WNY crew did a great job as usual and hope to make it again next year.
Yes quite impressive for a 650 non streamlined bike. I have the movie "World's Fastest Indian" on DVD. It was a 1920 Scout and the top speed then was 56 mph.
I had insurance with Progressive for about 8 yrs. There auto coverage got out of hand and I switched to Allstate and saved enough to put coverage on my home for what I was paying Progressive. I also had my two bikes with them and they doubled the cost. I went to Allstate with them also. I pay $559. per year.
Doug how far do you have to run the cable to your shop? You may need to replace the CAT 5 with CAT 6 direct burial cable or your system will slow way down.
Jeff I have the Truck light phase 6 LED driving lights and they are brighter than the Silver star ultra that I had to put in at MD this year. From what I have heard, you can't get them any longer but the Day maker lights look real close.
I have LEDs in mine and they do not flash fast at all, no load resister but I did add the light bar under the trunk and turn lights on the forks and bags. Maybe that was enough load to make them work slower.
Yeah what Steve said on the flashers. The chrome air filters are out there but at double or triple the cost. As for the chrome switch cover IMHO you can do without it. It will blind you when you don't expect it. I had one on mine for a very short time.
Speaking of classic cars. It may not be one of the collectors yet but I have one that I have been working on for a few years now. It is an 86 Monty Carlo SS T top. It is about 90% finished.
Don you bring up fond memories. Mine was a 66 GTO. 389 2 4bbl carbs, 4 speed, 411 posy. It was Sunflower Yellow with black interior. One went across Mechim auction yesterday in Harrisburg, PA. $46,000 took it home.
I like the looks of the Nova. It is a shame they didn't put it out. I would have bought it when I bought the GS1000 and that was the last bike that I have owned till the Venture I have now.
Yep I have drug with the wife on board. Went into a 15 MPH up hill right hand curve at about 30MPH in third and the boards pinched my foot into the motor and did a good job on the pipes also. I take it easy in the curves now.
Quaker State regular is what had a lot of the wax in it. I have been using Penzoil synthetic blend for quite a few years without any sludge or wax build up.
