  1. Sorry Jim I misunderstood your first post. Yes if they would thin out the forest they could make them a little easier to fight the fires when they start.
  2. Jim I am not quite sure that your statement is true. My oldest son has been in Redding since Dec. cleaning up after the fires there. Now he and my other son are just out side Sacramento doing tree clean up there and will be there till the middle of Sept.
  3. Very interesting read. Thanks for posting.
  4. Hope this one works out for you.
  5. Thanks for the link RR. I had a 78 GS1000 so I do know something of these bikes.
  6. Bill it is a shame you don't live closer to me I would change them for you.
  7. I went hole hog when I got my tire changer. I got a No-Mar tire changer. Everything is Delron tipped and will not mark the wheels.
  8. Puckster I think you misunderstood me. They are not there for the sites they are there working on the clean up from the fires and storm damage that Cal. has had.
  9. Puc my two sons are in Sacramento doing just that. They left here on Monday for12 to 16 weeks.
  10. Puc this bike has been run this spring so prelubing should not be a problem. I will take a good look at it this weekend.
  11. Have not seen the cosmetics yet but price is good. Just checked Ebay and can get a switch for under $50.00. May have to pull the trigger on this one. Good thing about this one it is my neighborhood so I could push it home if need be.
  12. I have a chance to buy this bike very cheap. The owner says it runs and has a rebuilt set of carbs for it. The only other thing it needs is an ignition switch. The PO messed it up when he lost the key. Your thoughts ?
  13. I have used Toluene and Acetone for years where I worked. Used gloves most of the time but not all. Worked the foam room a few of those years and the drums stated on them that fumes can cause the big C. They use a different foam now but the people in there still use a mask and gloves.
  14. I don't know from that shot who it is but there is quite a few RSV riders in the Virginia chapters of SCRC that go to Rolling Thunder each year.
  15. You are one lucky man. That tire does not look to be 2 years old. Look on the side of the tire for an oval with four numbers like 3415. The first two # are the week and the last # is the year of production.
  16. Like you said rare for this day. I had a Suzuki 90 in 70 and it would get down the road also. My cousin had a Honda 175 Scrambler and I could out run it any where. But the bike that I would like to get my hands on is a 71 Bridgestone 350 GTO.
  17. Well not today but yesterday. My 2 year old granddaughter and I went for a ride. She st on the seat in front of me and held onto the gas cap and we road around the yard for about 45 minutes on the Grizzley 600. We both has a blast.:banana: then went and had
  18. Yeah what Bob said they are junk. Best thing to do is paint your stock cover to match the bike if it is not black already. Here is an idea. Mark your cover where the bars hit it. Take the cover off and heat it with a torch a little just enough to make it soft and use a piece of pipe to make an indention in the cover where the bars hit then paint to match the bike.

Can't do that around here. They think they are GOLD.
  20. Ronnie they have been repaving 64 the last couple years so it should be in great shape. I81 is ok on the parts that I have been on and 60 it a good road at a little slower pace but a great ride.
  21. Grubsie do you want to fix the typo in your last post or did the year of that bike jump to the future. From 2013 to 2103 that is a big jump.
  22. Nice ride there Boss. I almost got one myself but settled for the 14 Mustang conv. Congrats to the wife.
  23. Your link for the tire and wheel shows a rear tire and wheel. I think he needs a front wheel.
  24. From what I have seen and heard of Rideon they are just like a pawn shop. Only give a third of what it is worth and make a huge profit when sold.
  25. Puc I am sorry to hear of your brother passing. Our prayers are for you, Tip and the whole family.
