I couldn't find any one with the correct blank keys in my area so ordered them from member KJ4V. He made them the same day and shipped. I got them in four days across country. Keys worked great. $15.00 for two keys, not bad.

After reading this thread, I decided to get a couple extra keys made. Took the codes previously listed to a couple hardware stores and a locksmith--no keys. Where are you guys getting your keys made? Maybe I need to have somone send me a couple blanks and have them cut here. Thanks for you replies in advance.

I have the Barons risers on my 07RSV. Love them but throttle doesn't return when in right turn to lock. I plan on having my fairing and tank off this Winter so that would be the time to reroute the throttle cable. My question is which way to reroute and any tricks or problems. Thanks in advance.

After reading the posts in this thread, I just had to chime in. As a service technician with over 30 years experience, I think my opinions may hold a little water. The miles you get out of your brake pads has nothing to do with how far you travel. It depends on how often and how hard or long you brake. I ride about 7 miles one way to work and use my brakes about 4 times if I hit the lights right. A few weeks ago we traveled 450 miles on the freeway and only used the brakes 10-15 times. Sometimes in the city or in heavy traffic, you may use your brakes 20-30 times or more in a 10 mile ride. Along with that, a lot depends on how hard you brake, how long you are using the brake and if you use the engine compression to slow down before you brake. To me, the miles you get out of your brakes is directly related to how you use them. Just like air filters. If you ride dusty, gravel roads, you need to check and clean your filters more often than riding highway. Neither are mileage sensitive. I love this site and get a lot of info from it, but sometimes I just have to chuckle. Thanks for listening.

Has anyone used the Royal Purple Max Cycle 20w50? I'm torn between dino and synthetic. I have never used synthetic in anything, but would like to see if there is any difference in performance or noise level. Can you increase the oil change interval with synthetic? My understanding is oil does not wear out, it just gets impurities in it. Wouldn't the synthetic get the same impurities? I just bought the Purolator PL14610 filter ($5.99), so I think I'm good on filtering. Hard to justifiy $12.99/qt for the Royal Purple vs $3.98/qt for Valvoline. I am willing to pay if it's worth it. Does anyone have the single shift lever? I have the stock toe/heel lever but never use the heel end. I caught my rain pants on the heel end the other day and almost dumped. If anyone has a single and wants to change back to the toe/heel, I would be interested in a trade. Otherwise I will probably just cut off the heel end. BTW, this is for a 07 RSV. Also would be interested in a fuel cap cover and a cover for the rear of the fuel tank.
