    Champion also makes a rubber installation/removal tool. I have been using mine for years professionally. Sure makes things easier in those hard to get to places. Last time I got one, they said may not be available for long. Just have to check it out and see. Champion part #CT-463.

    I put on the ISO grips without weights and can't tell any more vibration. It should show up in the mirrors along with your hands, I don't notice any difference in either. I do really like the ISO grips compared to the stock for hand comfort.

    Hey fellow riders, I just had my second windshield replaced because of cracking from the bottom. The first, about a year and a half ago, was cracked between the left two bolt holes. It was replaced by the dealer under warranty, no problems. This time it cracked out of the far left bolt hole. I printed off the info from this site about the rear fairing bosses breaking and the support bar being a little out of shape. When the dealer took the windshield off, that was the case. They replaced the rear fairing and the support bar along with the windshield, all under warranty. Hope this solves the issue for future cracking as I only have one year left under warranty. Great dealer to work with, Yamaha Jack's in Ellensburg, Wa. I can tell the rear fairing is a lot more evenly spaced from the handlebar mounts so I'm assuming the support bar was a lot of the problem. Don.

    I use a product called "Slime" in all my bike tires, have for years. It not only will seal a puncture, but helps to balance the tire. I lost a weight on one of my previous bikes and didn't even know it was gone until I was washing it and noticed the spot where it came off. Firm believer in the stuff. Never tried dynabeads.

    Thanks. I knew they were shields but thought they might get hot enough to melt plastic. Just rode about 40 miles and no problem. In fact you can touch the shields with your hand, not hot, surprisingly cool. Thanks again for all the replies.

    Thanks for the replies. This horn did not come with a spacer. I will check that out. If a spacer is needed, then I will have to get a longer bolt as well. That shouldn't be a problem. I missed the part about the cover popping off when I was reading the threads on installing the horn. I will make sure it gets some silicone.

    Locktite is like Brillcream--A little dab'll do ya. But I agree, DO NOT get any on the plastic. Better off using Nyloc nuts and then putting a rubber cap over the nuts to keep from scratching or damaging anything in your trunk.

    I have 06 Road Glide take-offs on my 07 RSV and there is no cat in them. I didn't think the slip ons were different between RK's and RG's. Maybe there is.

    Hi fellow riders. I just installed the Stebel horn in place of the stock horn on the lower right side of my 07 RSV. I used Carbon One's bracket and it works fine. The chrome plastic cover does touch the clutch housing and the exhaust shield. I have not taken it out for a ride yet, was wondering if anyone has had any melting on the chrome plastic cover with this installation. Thanks in advance for your replies.

    I read on a previous thead about this on this forum. A foot on the back corner of the rail will put it just online. I was not sure about the process but tried it and it worked. Don't push any more than needed and will have to push more because of sping back, but it does work. I'm more than happy with mine and no drilling.

    I have to agree with the most of you that the 2G rsv is a great bike. Just ran two up for 1900 miles in 6 days and loved every minute. The minor mods I've done make it even better (seat mod, leveling links, E3 tires and just added the Iso-Grips for the ride). I've ridden the HD's and like the low end torque but have no problem reving the RSV to get the same torque, maybe even more. I have no problem with no CD since my GPS has MP3 and I did the splitter to listen through the speakers. As long as you keep fuel stabilzer in the fuel over the off season, there isn't any carb. issue. FI is great as long as it's working correctly, but if not it's big bucks to fix. I'll stay with the carbs with no worries. The only thing I'd like to see different in the RSV is a lower center of gravity. Maybe a lighter passenger? Oh, I'm in trouble now!! By the way, if you ever get a chance to ride the Road To The Sun in Glacier Park, it is well worth it. I'll post some pics at a later date.

    Just got my E3's today from Jake Wilson ($220 with $10 coupon). Will have mounted tomorrow and then 1000-1200 mile trip this weekend. I will post back on satisfaction next week. After reading the info on this site, I can't imagine being displeased.

    I understand the function of the mats behind the speakers but the bass blockers? Can't you just turn the bass down and achieve the same thing?

    I must ahve gotten the wrong idea--I thought the leveling links raised the rear about and inch, that's why I have not put them on.

    Beartooth Pass-2009

    Trip through Yellowstone and Beartooth Pass. Went in August expecting nice weather. Not so much. Some rain in Yellowstone, hail at top of Beartooth, fairly nice into Red Lodge. From there into Columbus--rained like a cow pissin' on a flat rock. Holed up in Columbus at 1530 figurin' it couldn't be worse the next morning. We were right--not a cloud to be seen the rest of the trip. Recommend this ride to everyone. 5 1/2 days, 1800 miles. Would do it again in a heartbeat. If you have a choice, don't spend the night in Yellowsotne--very expensive and may not find a room. We stayed in Cook City at the Soda Butte Lodge. Highly recommened. Walking distance to food and brew. Had breakfast at the lodge--better be hungry. Hit the freeway home at 80mph. Took a side trip to the big lake north of Spokane, then home. What a ride!!
