PB, We're North of Houston, but travel to Beaumont area frequently. Possible to meet with you after the new year. There are a few members in LA. KBran & Jethro are in South LA. Maybe we can work up a M&E ???? Ponch

A note about Load equalizers. When talking to Custom Dynamics, the tech told me that you cannot use them on a bike that has four way flashers. It will burn something up or cause some damage to the computer. He said the only thing to use on a system w/four ways is an electronic flasher. He also said it had to be a "non load bearing flasher". Most auto supply stores carry them. (I hope I got that right. I'm old. I forget.) -
Haven't heard of anyone doing this on a Venture. I have heard of that on a car. Works (eventually). I don't think it could work if the accessory plug is switched off.

Most folks I know that use battery tenders just plug em in and forget it. Whatever you're comfortable with. I wouldn't worry myself.

Boomer, The light mounts are passing light turnsignal adapters. Yamaha doesn't offer them for sale. You have to buy the passing light kit, bar and all to get them. I asked my Yammi parts guy about buying some and he said "they're not available, but let me check on something". He came back about ten minutes later and handed them to me for free. Apparantly the service department had replaced a passing light kit on a wrecked bike and kept the parts. Yay! So if anyone has to replace a passing light kit , save the parts. I took the helmet holders off and drilled/bolted the adapters to the bracket where the holders were. There's not much room inside the gussets behind the helmet holder for the head of a bolt. I tried to find socket head cap screws in a MM10x1.25 (I think) but couldn't find them so I used a little bit longer bolts (hex head) than I needed and put a spacer under the heads so I could get a wrench on the head. I'm thinking about remounting the helmet holders just slightly below where they were. I bought two FRONT turn signal assemblies from www.yamahasportsplaza.com pulled the stock light socket out and replaced them with the dogeyz (Dynamic Clusters) from Custom Dynamics. This way I had run/brake and turn signals in one fixture and and the turn signals still flash amber. I had to add a brake light circuit to the fixture. I ordered clear turn signal lenses as well to make the LED's even more noticeable. Custom Dynamics - clear lenses Most think this looks ugly, but at the risk of being so, I will do whatever I can to get more noticeable lighting on the rear of the Venture. Ask anyone who has ridden behind me on a run if you can see this setup. Hope this helps. Works for me. -
Its 12v. I would watch the battery the first time you use it. Make sure nothing sparks or smokes. Then I wouldn't worry too much about it after that. Don't have one yet myself.

I used the Dogeye clusters from Custom Dynamics with an elctronic flasher instead of load equalizers. It works great. I also have the LED tailight with 1157 plug in. I added a license plate light inside the tailight housing because the led does not light up the license plate. I'll try to get some pics when I get home. The only thing about using LE's or an elctronic flasher is the self canceling feature won't work any more. Ponch -

:BLUE: I would inspect the battery cables. Bad connections and cables cause funny symptoms. -
Don, from the home page, the FAQ & Donate tabs don't work. Seems fine from other pages.

This summer I cut down a stock Yammie shield. It was 100 degrees + and I need more air for a long weekend trip. I cut it pretty short and boy did I get buffeting. I did enjoy the trip though. There's no way LilBit could have stood the wind. Looked alright, but Man it sure let lots of air in.

Bubba sold his Centenial edition Herritage Softail last year and was in the process of selling his Ultra. I know he purposely bought the softail as an investment. He did quite well on it. About three months ago, he tried to sell me his Ultra I guess I'll never know for sure why he was getting out of riding, but now I suspect it might have been due to his health. He was about my age (56) and seemed to be very healthy. He was fortunate to be able to retire last year. So much he wanted to do in his retirement. I guess this is enough babble from me. But I intend to live life with a different outlook from now on. I don't know about tomorrow, but I intend to live to ride and ride to live while I can. And as Stacey David says, "Drive It Like Ya Stole It". lol Thanks for your posts.

As if! I've seen the the sport bike guys and chopper builders do it. They butt the front tire against a brick wall and start a burn out. Then they lean the bike to both sides and burn baby burn. I ain't gonna try this but it definately would take care of that flat center. I bet Pegscraper would give it a go.

Sounds Mui Bueno to me!
