You talkin' about the dog or Freebird????

In the wind again. Enjoy! I don't think MarCarl was serious. We all enjoy ribbing each other here. Ponch

If I were going to keep the bike and was unhappy with the color, I would paint it. If I were going to sell it in a year or so, I feel that the MM paint scheme would make it more valuable to re-sell. When I see a MM for sale, I think of the color of the paint and seats. Without these traits, it's just another 2nd gen. Its your ride, make it look the way you like it. Ponch

Made it all the way home on the spare. I bought two new tires right after getting home and repacked the trailer wheel bearings for the Cody trip. Still need to permanently attach the new trailer lights. We waited four hours for them to install the lights. I finally installed them myself and was on our way. After you left, Sarges46 was there and helped with the light install. What would we do without the help from the Canadians? CG felt so bad for making us wait, they gave us a discount on the Hyper-Lites. Sorry about the headsets, better than nothing (for a while, at least). See you guys next time. Ponch

Tom, Great to meet you guys. Thanks for your help at Cycle Gadgets. How did the new headsets work out for ya?

Please be careful about posting club names, especially certain 1%er clubs. They actually have folks who monitor the web for their name. If it pops up in a thread on a forum, it could cause problems.

She done allright with that cheap camera her cheap husband (me) bought her. I tried to get the names, unfortunately, I can't remember them all. We met some great folks. Cindy, if you are responsible for the idea of the name badges, good on ya girl!! It really helped seeing the online names and the real names.

We stayed in a Super 8 recently, never tried that chain before. Don't know if they're all like the one we stayed at on the way home from the rally, but this one was very good. Not in San Antonio, though. Ponch

Its all the navigator's fault.

My RSTD custom project (Caution, nekkidness inside)
Ponch replied to Sunman's topic in Watering Hole
...they are made perfect , with no light or heavy spots. Therefore no dot to indicate the light side of the tire. -
I'm glad too. She had to miss Freebird's maintenance day. So we can't let her stay home too much. There's lotsa great VR.org members to meet out there! BTW, We went through Rosebud, TX last weekend. Not much there.

and thanks.

I was loading up, waiting out the storms rolling through Houston Friday afternoon and LilBit was helping me (I think ) and she said you know, I'm feeling a lot better, why don't you wait uintil morning, and I'll go with... We got a call from her doctor this morning who said there was no fracture, probably just a strain. Should get better quick. Just take some Ibuprophen for a few days and see how it goes. Sooooo.....:banana::banana::banana::banana: We're headed North in the morning. Hope to meet up with Tom & Wild Hair along the way.
-
She was! She really wanted to meet you and hates to miss Peggy and the other female VR.org members she has met (and some of the male ones). Hopefully she can make the Cody trip.
-
LilBit cracked a rib and can't make it. Leaving Today after work. Will meet Tom & Lowell tomorrow morning.
-
Don, I'll order two if you order some more.

...over any other motorcycle I could've bought, but GoldWings are excellant bikes (even if they don't look like my idea of what a motorcycle should look like).

We went from Houston to Waco and back this weekend. While we can only get the Smog gas is the metro areas, we were able to get the"good" stuff away from home. The MPG's were pretty close over several tanks.

LilBit and I spent hours on the side of the road last Saturday. Though many, many bikes of all brands passed, none stopped. One idiot (brand name omitted) nearly hit me and I was off the road a good bit. We had drivers in all types of cages stop and offer assistance. One dear old couple (had to be in their 80's) offered tools and a ride. One drunk guy offered water and beer. The best was this farmer and his wife. After passing us by, turned around and offered to come back and get us with his trailer, feed us and help me chase parts while we worked in the shade of his barn. We were able to get a little farther down the road without assistance, but finally had to call my mother (who's house we were travelling to anyway) to come get LilBit so she could get us a new fuel pump.

Larry, I'll pick up an auxillary jack to plumb in when we do your gauges.

Just talked to patty. She and Allen making this offer to anyone who wants to buy something at the rally. If you pre-order, you can avoid paying the Arkansas sales tax. Your card will not be charged for the sale until a day or so before they leave for Arkansas. If you wait until the rally to purchase, they have to charge the tax. They are bringing a lot of stuff, but no installation. They want to ride some this time. Ponch

2nd Gen Valve Adjustment
Ponch replied to V7Goose's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If nobody has one near you, I'll send you mine (when I get it). You replace any shims taken w/ the ones you remove and send it back. You won't even need to buy the tool. Ponch
