  1. I went with the tallest F4 Custom windshield and the very first comment out of my wife's mouth was that the buffeting had all but gone away.
  2. Way to go man, keep it up. Don't ever tell your self you are an ex-smoker Tell yourself that you are a NON-SMOKER now. Seems like a small thing but it can make a huge difference
  3. As I tell any one that ask me about the PGR, "it is about honoring those men and women who have, are or will be serving our country" period. You don't have to "join" anything. You don't have to be a veteran. You don't have to ride a motorcycle. All you have to do is show up to those missions you can and show honor. The national site will always list the active missions coming up. Go to this http://patriotguard.org/Home/tabid/53/Default.aspx and scroll down. All missions are on the right hand side. As mentioned by others you can sign up and notify the state ride captain that you would like to be on the mailing list for missions or you can just check the website when ever you will be available for a mission. Remember Show up for the missions you can Show honor and respect for those we have lost, and their families Show restraint by being a proud and silent wall between any "uninvited guest" and the family if so required. It's not about the "uninvited guest" it about the fallen.
  4. I noticed that they do not turn yellow until they get down by 25%. This means that on the 44 psi they will not warn you until your pressure is down to 33psi. Not good. I ride 35 psi on my front tire so I would put a 44 psi on the front tire so I would be warned after a 6% loss. On the back I usually ride 45 psi. I think I would know well before my pressure got down to 33 psi that my tire was low. Wished they had one for 56 psi. That one would warn me at 42 psi or about 7% loss. I'm thinking that as it is right now I would not put it on my rear tire because it would probably give me a false sense of security. Now if they had the 56 psi I would get it in a heart beat for the rear tire.
  5. Sorry but I am not buying it. If you notice there is a late afternoon shadow on everything except the deer. The only time you see a shadow from the deer is just as it is going over the bike and then it is directly below it, more like a high noon shadow. Also the clarity of the deer at the end of the video is quite different from the other objects in the video. Good job of video editing but still needs a little work.
  6. The carrier that Iowawegian posted is the same type I modified for our dog. By the way we have a Maltese and we keep him long. Here he is ready for a ride with his Doggles on.
  7. Can't get to it right now for pics but what we did was take a Sherpa bag and stiffen the bottom with plywood then ran straps through the bottom to hook it to the luggage rack. I than put a small hook inside on the bottom and made a leash with snaps on both ends. Hook one snap to the ring and one snap to the collar. I can now leave one end of the Sherpa bag open on top so my dog can stick its head out but he can't jump out because of the leash. Also train them to use Doggles. They are goggles made specifically for dogs. Keeps the bugs out of their eyes. You can find them with online a Google search.
  8. Don't worry about your warranty running out. When it does just contact that feller in the video and have him send you one. After all he did say he had two extra ones.
  9. Just remember, the guy who owned Segway . . . drove his off a cliff by accident and died!!!
  10. It is nice to see that there are still citizens who are conscious of their civic responsibilities to keep the authorities properly informed when observing law breaking activities.
  11. Put me in coach. The Sweetie and I would love to do the ride with you all.
  12. Thanks for that video. I sent it to everyone that could not understand why my Sweetie and I took off for the whole summer of 2009 and spent 40 days just riding around the country. In our 50's, no job, and not much money but we figured that we could be broke at home or broke on the road and our bodies would never get any younger. I hope they get it.
  13. When I was younger I "got" to ummm, work yeah that's it work, with dynamite. Believe me he was right, a 1/4 stick would have done the job quite well. At least it works quite well with a foot bridge over a stream . . or so I uhhh "heard".
  14. Well it official. It really has frozen over!!! http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm220/AKRefugee/Hellfrozenover.jpg
  15. The U. S. S... Constitution (Old Ironsides), as a combat vessel, carried 48,600 gallons of fresh water for her crew of 475 officers and men. This was sufficient to last six months of sustained operations at sea. She carried no evaporators (i.e. fresh water distillers). However, let it be noted that according to her ship's log, "On July 27, 1798, the U.S.S. Constitution sailed from Boston with a full complement of 475 officers and men, 48,600 gallons of fresh water, 7,400 cannon shot, 11,600 pounds of black powder and 79,400 gallons of rum." Her mission: "To destroy and harass English shipping." Making Jamaica on 6 October, she took on 826 pounds of flour and 68,300 gallons of rum. Then she headed for the Azores , arriving there 12 November.. She provisioned with 550 pounds of beef and 64,300 gallons of Portuguese wine. On 18 November, she set sail for England . In the ensuing days she defeated five British men-of-war and captured and scuttled 12 English merchant ships, salvaging only the rum aboard each. By 26 January, her powder and shot were exhausted. Nevertheless, although unarmed she made a night raid up the Firth of Clyde in Scotland . Her landing party captured a whisky distillery and transferred 40,000 gallons of single malt Scotch aboard by dawn. Then she headed home. The U. S. S. Constitution arrived in Boston on 20 February 1799, with no cannon shot, no food, no powder, no rum, no wine, no whisky, and 38,600 gallons of water. GO NAVY! ****************************
  16. The instructor at the Lamaze class was giving the students a few last tips for the day. He turned from the pregnant ladies who were soon to deliver to speak directly to their husbands/partners/coaches. "Now among all the other suggestions I've made, there's one I want to emphasize," he said. "The best exercise for an expectant mother is to walk. So I want you fellows to encourage your ladies to take a walk every day. And the best way to do it is for you to walk with her." In the back, one of the husbands raised a hand. "I'm just wondering...while we're walking, would it hurt if she carried a golf bag?"
  17. Just checked weather again and would take the lower route. Lots of snow forecast thru Wednesday am for Northern NM and the Texas panhandle.
  18. Sooooo, that's where they have been hiding those flashbacks they promised me . . . er I mean that they promised my friends, yeah that's it my friends.
  19. Nicely done. Where and how did you mount the camera that looks back at you?
  20. It is my understanding that the pygmies don't like anyone eating cheese cake in front of The Chief without him getting some. With their twisted little minds they might construe those pictures as doing just that. Might want to be careful of opening any packages you receive in the mail for a while.
  21. One of those things that when you become a gray beard you look back at and say to yourself "What the heck was I thinking???
  22. I have the F4 in the tallest (19" I believe) and like you I prefer to look through the windshield. When I put it on my wife immediately stated that she noticed a BIG difference, no more getting buffeted around. As for the look through capability, I have about 30 thousand miles on mine and the optics are as good as the day I bought it. I keep RainX on mine and have zero problems with vision in the rain. In fact I have a bigger problem keeping the vision through my helmet shield than I do the windshield. I have no concerns with using the gas station squeegees and do so quite often with no damage to the windshield. Regarding the milage I figure that it cost me about 2 to 3 miles per gallon but for me it is worth it. I mean come on for my normal 4.5 gallon fill up we are only talking about 11.5 miles per tank or about $0.90 a tank.
  23. Yeah and if you did that there would actually be something to work on at Maintenance Day at Don's.
  24. Well on nice thing about snow in the south. You can get in the fast lane and move right along because everyone is in the left lane creeping along and they are afraid of the left lane. One of the quickest trips I ever made through TN was in such conditions. Put it on the speed limit and just rolled along.
  25. Thank you for the visual display of how many 1st Gens you need to keep one going.
