Originally from Northern Ohio and I love the Appalachians for pretty much anything, especially riding. But the snow and cold I can do without now. That super slushy stuff, just nasty.

On my '06 cruise worked in 4th and 5th gear only. That started to fail because the clutch fluid system needed to be rebuilt. I sold it soon after and yes the buyer knew about the issue. 😉

It's a good conversation to have. I, for one, don't watch the electric bike market at all. I'm 35 - 45 miles from work (downtown Houston) and if I could convince the wife I would be 100+ miles out. Just don't like cities but that's where my work is.

BTW: I do get to visit Irvine, CA every once in a while for work. You can come to Houston too. Weather is good here too. Just hot in the summer and much better than 'the North' because we can still ride year round. LOL. That Darn snow is one reason I moved. Hated shoveling 6" of partly cloudy.

Range is ~75 miles at highway speeds and 113 miles with the extended battery +$2700. With the extended battery yo cannot have the quick charge station. 75 miles would not get me 1 round trip to work.

LOL. Someone took my Predator 4000 from Harbor Freight. But now since you won't be able to buy gas in CA you need to install a tri-fuel kit and start carrying propane with you along with the generator.

Electric cars cannot be sustained with the Green movement. Reference California, The CA Governor signs a gas car sales ban for 2035 and a couple of days later he's telling EV owners not to charge their vehicles due to power grid issues. here's another article from WV. I don't know if I'd bite on a Harley. Every time I've been on a ride with one were either end up push starting it or sitting in a bar waiting on a tow truck. LMAO

The batteries in the TPMS have probably died. they should replace them when they do the tires.

I read an article in the late '80s that explained our current 'higher' education system spot on. It explained that in the 50's and early 60's when the US was at the top of education ratings it would take roughly 65 credit hours to get a bachelors degree. With Vietnam a lot of families put their kids in college to avoid the draft. These kids had no idea of what they wanted to study. the education system came up with the Liberal Arts Degree for those that satisfied the number of credit hours with no real major area of study. The Education system realized they could increase the number of hours required to get a degree to help these undecisive individuals come to a conclusion, and also continue to keep them out of the war. By the mid 80's They decided that all students needed to be well rounded and introduced even more frivolous credit hours so that today you need 120+ credit hours for a 4 year degree in anything. They added psych, social studies phys-ed etc. in the end it was really all about the Benjamins. Raise the total cost of a degree to increase money flow. And people wonder why our Colligate system is producing the garbage workers they are. Sorry don't mean to offend Garbage workers, they're more intelligent than a lot of college graduates today.

That's a great deal. I've got the interlock setup but the cost of electrical and 3/4" NG line for where I want the generator is a little high right now. When I save up some more cash I'll finish it out.

Same here. Learned on Tractors. The art of shifting on a tractor was much more difficult than a car. Drove my dad's Ford with 3 in the tree back up into the 'holler' many times. Single lane road and the closes one to a pull off had to back up. strait up on one side and straight down on the other with only trees to catch you.

When the younger people like to call us uneducated I like to remind them that the owners manuals used to have information on how to remove, set or work with various aspects of maintenance on a our cars. The you look at their owners manuals and it says not to drink the battery acid.

That's funny. I took my kids to an empty parking lot after a snowstorm and said 'do donuts'. It was a front wheel drive. Then I showed them how to do donuts in reverse. After that we did the same in our E150 conversion van. Watching them trying to do donuts in reverse in that was hysterical. I showed them how to do donuts in that. Next, came recoveries from skids. They still talk about how much more they learned from that and how much more fun it was.

The dealership is clueless as they expect you to ride it 🤣. I personally have not trailered this bike but following @BadCatClassics above I have seen plenty of the Bikes and Beards YouTube channel and I think they have the best method for tying down big bikes. I like the idea of the 6" channel too. I've never done that but I can see where that would help keep the rear of the bike form 'jumping'.

These may work at a stop but riding in general? I don't see it ending well.
