Good Luck and I hope all is well,

When the younger people like to call us uneducated I like to remind them that the owners manuals used to have information on how to remove, set or work with various aspects of maintenance on a our cars. The you look at their owners manuals and it says not to drink the battery acid.

That's funny. I took my kids to an empty parking lot after a snowstorm and said 'do donuts'. It was a front wheel drive. Then I showed them how to do donuts in reverse. After that we did the same in our E150 conversion van. Watching them trying to do donuts in reverse in that was hysterical. I showed them how to do donuts in that. Next, came recoveries from skids. They still talk about how much more they learned from that and how much more fun it was.

The dealership is clueless as they expect you to ride it 🤣. I personally have not trailered this bike but following @BadCatClassics above I have seen plenty of the Bikes and Beards YouTube channel and I think they have the best method for tying down big bikes. I like the idea of the 6" channel too. I've never done that but I can see where that would help keep the rear of the bike form 'jumping'.

These may work at a stop but riding in general? I don't see it ending well.

Wish I were taller. I can't reach highway pegs. 🤣

Look at your Politicians. The VAST MAJORITY are Lawyers.

I just purchased a mud tray. Drill a few holes in the bottom and put aluminum foil over it if needed. Need to try adding a few more holes in the side. I've picked them up at home depot for $5 - $10. Never thought about using Pellets in it though. I've used oak, hickory, pecan, apple etc. Even tried osage orange. Found this a little helpful.

First one is spatchcocked and then Seasoned (however you want) place on a bed of potatoes, carrots, green beans or other vegetables. I do this in a 12" cast Iron and cook the vegetables for about 45 - 60 minutes before adding the chicken on top. Keep the grill or smoker at about 225 - 250 and it takes about another 2.5 hours. All that great chicken fat and the seasonings cover the vegetables. I also like to add a lot of smashed garlic. Also, I have seasoned the vegetables first which works well too. The second, Split along the rib cage and back then butterfly close to the neck. Season to taste and cook over medium coals turning as needed. I then I like to use several layers of Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce.

LOL. I always tell people I don't know everything but I know who to call or can find someone who knows. That's why I refer people here.

Your not far from wrong. I see a bunch of whining babies that don't understand the concept of 'your siting on a hot engine with a can of gas between your legs'. I've been kicked from the one guys page so I registered with my wife's account and posted that he was making more from the ads on FB than @Freebird made on the $12 per year and he need to leave his butt hurt attitude out of the site. It opened a can of worms before he deleted the thread and kicked almost 20 people from the group. There are more FB pages that are a waste of the precious time we have. All they want to do is complain about the GPS, the SVTC is too hot etc etc. I just leave those groups within a few minutes of reading comments. And, . . . . I always recommend people to come here. I tell them it's one of the few sites where you get excellent knowledge access for all 3 generations of the Venture. Only the one guy had a problem with that.

I've walked out of a few dealerships without a vehicle. Items like Tax Title and dealer prep are normal to a degree but all states now limit this charge. Dealerships introduced a Documentation Fee. It's basically a scam upcharge. I argued with the last dealer I worked with in 2009. They wanted to charge me an addition 380 in Document processing fees. I went back to to sales guy and said my offer for the Charger was now 400 less, take it or leave it. I also never deal with the back and forth to the manager garbage. I always tell the sales person that they have 1 chance to talk to the manager, if he does not agree he better be walking back with you. It already takes hours to get a vehicle and I won't waste my time. I've had sales guys follow me out of the dealership and once even had the manager get in front of my car as I was pulling out. I haven't bought a new car since then, only the SVTC. I had the same conversation with them about the documentation fee.

Time to fire that baby up and have a little fun?

We're all glad you're still around too.

My Mother in Law was a secretary in the ER. Me riding while I was dating her daughter was fine. Once we got married the BS started that we were going to die and that a helmet wouldn't help us. I finally got rude with her one day and walked out. My Father-in-law had a discussion with her and my wife. No issues since then. I've only heard a couple stories about what he said to them but he was pretty hard on them. Smart Man he was. Anyway, I wore a half helmet for about 10 - 12 years. I developed Tinnitus after a 12 hour ride in very windy conditions. Several of us had this happen on this ride. We all wore half helmets. I loved it for the airflow down here in Houston. Then I started using a Cardo comm system and was putting in pocket holders over my ear for the speakers. Just recently went with an Aria Full helmet. Not cheap but it was the only one that fit my big odd shaped head. It's a little hot at times but overall very comfortable.

So an all electric touring bike? I don't see that plausible with today's tech. You can do short jaunts in an electric car but then you have to charge for how many hours? A hybrid, a little more plausible but getting a battery of any size to really make a difference in mileage I'm skeptical of. In a normal year I average 12000 mi just to and from work. This takes into consideration that I travel - a lot. My round trip to the office is between 70 and 80 mi per day. Electric or hybrid is a little more feasible for this. No for the other 8 - 12K I put on the bike, these are days of 500 mi or more. The range on such a small battery for this type of travel would be unacceptable.

This could be a very good reason why Yamaha went they way they did on the Gen 3. Low RPM, the manual recommends shifting at 1900 RPM and the rev limiter. I've bee reading good reviews about Ivan's Performance finishing their ECU changes for the Venture/Eluder Ivan's Performance Products (ivansperformanceproducts.com)

Glad your all OK. I've hit multiple crows and one duck. The duck it was about 5 years ago while my wife was learning to ride. I was behind her on my gen 2 at about 30 - 35. She spooked the duck. It came up and all I could see and feel was it's wing across my face. I was wearing a half helmet at the time. Scared the crap out of me but it gave us nothing more than a good laugh.

I carry a small gallon can in my saddle bag. Have for years. I personally have never used it for me but have for many others. Bikes and cars. If it is not used within 3 months I pour it into my truck and refill it.

I'll give you a good laugh about grass. We moved from Northern OH to Houston 15+ years ago. 1st time I'm mowing a neighbor comes out and starts telling me how I shouldn't mow in the middle of the day. Asking why he's "you'll die of heat stroke" because your from the north and not used to this heat. After I get done laughing I explain that the 15 - 30 minutes it takes me to mow this postage stamp lawn we have isn't going to give anyone heat stroke. Well I finished mowing and just cleaning up and started pulling this 'vine'/weed. Ove the next few weeks and months these things just keep getting worse - I couldn't get rid of them. I was telling a friend about the issue since he's a native Texan and he comes over to take a look. I show him what I was talking about and after he stops choking on his beer he looks at me and goes "That's your grass, dumb@#$." 🤣 I had never seen St Augustine grass before. LOL
