I'm about 2 hours NW of Houston for family matters and we are expecting 4 degree weather in the coming days. I haven't had a real winter coat since moving to Houston 15 years ago from northern Ohio. Only my leather for the bike. I remember my first year here and getting a dusting of snow. got up to go to work, get to the gas station and all the lights are off. Figured they had a problem. Go to the next station and the same. Turn on the radio and they shut everything down. It's all perception and my perception is the north can keep this ~!@#$%^. I moved to warmer weather for a reason.

Alzheimer’s is a rough condition for the afflicted and the family. We wish you and your family the best and offer prayers for your mom. -
Absolutely true on the apples to apples comparison. Reminds me of when we were looking at a minivan 30 years ago due to kids. If you mentioned a Ford or Chevy for comparison The Dodge people would scoff and basically say nothing else is in the same class to compare. My comment to them was if you are not going to have an honest discussion I'll take my business and money elsewhere. No reaction until I started walking out then they were groveling to have me talk. Ended up with a E150 conversion van and no minivan. Best vehicle decision ever. Overall that E150 was so far superior to any minivan I had ever been in. I was kicking myself after we got rid of it. Being an IT guy working with networking since the days of CP/M, 3Com 3+ share and Netware I was in the habit of comparing IT stuff to the lowest basic level I can get. Chipsets, processors, math coprocessors, CMOS, PAL chips etc. I guess I'll need to be doing this for the Dash Cam setup research 🙂

First, never be sorry to disagree, at least with me, its all an opportunity to learn. As far as 720, this was based on several cameras we used on a couple of rides as a group. The two 1080 cameras were better quality than the three 720 cameras in that experience. This was in 2019. All of the cameras we supposed to have stabilization. could this have been related to lenses absolutely. I don't even remember the brands involved as it was what ever each rider had. I've been wanting to do this on the new SVTC since I got it and want the cameras to be small and hidden as possible. I also agree that memory cards are very affordable today.

A draw back on this would be the image quality @720p.

I may or may not have been on the receiving end of a switch or belt a few times. We didn't live where Mattekloopers would be needed.

There is a guide stamped on the frame but you can also get a gauge for measuring the tension. I have one like this: -

I agree with everything you're saying. She's in a tough spot for content. Would love to see her do something on the TAT. -

I really like her world trip stuff and her treks through Norway and such, I was disappointed in a few of the more recent vids and have not kept up. I'll have to go back and watch / catchup again. -

This have been sitting in my YouTube queue. Was a little disappointed in some of he other vids this year but given all the limitations on her riding I get it. I will need to watch these in the coming weeks. -
DEBUNKING THE ANTI-AMERICAN FAKE NEWS AMMO SHORTAGE REPORTS!
bpate4home replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
While the video provides assurances of manufacturing ammo the shortage itself is real. Demand is the issue, they cannot keep up with it. Demand is also why the cost is through the roof. -
Can you elaborate on the helmetless i/c? I wear a halfie but I have these fabric pockets for the i/c headphone holders. Not really happy with these in the hot / humid weather of Hosuton

Contradictory is 100% correct on all of it. The Chicago area medical person said in an interview that COVID deaths are very loosely applied. Used the scenario of testing positive and then getting hit by a car you would be put on the COVID Death list. The CDC even adjusted their numbers to only 6% of all COVID deaths were actually caused by COVID. This was wildly contested (and now lost to the annals of the public short term memory) by the Media because Trump mentioned it. But who are the Media - They are the purveyors of misinformation.

So do you follow the Science from ~April-May timeline where they said the public should not be wearing masks?

Simple question: Whose science are you going to follow?

I would love to be less connected overall but I chose my career in IT. It is important for me to be able to connect back to the office anytime, anywhere and speed does matter. I have a 5G phone and will be one of the first guinea pigs. On a positive note now that I am more management than tech I may only need to be on the phone to the team to get issues corrected quickly.

The IP address 127.0.0.1 is a special-purpose IPv4 address called localhost (loopback) address. All computers using TCPIP use this address as their own but it doesn't let them communicate with other devices like a normal IP address does. You can block it but it will cause issues, even in a Linux environment. ISP routers / corporate firewalls / local firewalls will reject any packet coming in that has 127.0.0.1 involved in anyway unless otherwise told to do so. This address will not allow anyone access to your computer.

It's been cold for Houston (low 30's a week or so ago then low 40's in the mornings) but . . . I can still ride. I don't mind being cold, I don't mind being wet but I hate being cold and wet.

We will keep Earl and you in our Prayers. May God watch over Earl during this and Bless your entire Family with a speedy and full recovery.

It's been a long long time since I've ridden in snow. I highly doubt I would do it today. Cold - no issue but snow on the road is a different story today. BTW knobby tires were worse unless there was at least a few inches on the ground. I found a Mid level tread pattern worked best. The pic below was the bike I rode in the winter in Ohio as a kid. He found this going through his stuff a few months ago, it was right after I gave it to him.
