Could be a bunch of different things but one thing they all are --- is an invasion on our privacy.

That's one meat I never thought of or had. I've had a pretty large range too: Racoon, Groundhog, Gator, Squirrel, Snake even Ostrich once. We used to have place close to our house that sold "exotic" meats.

BLT on Seeded Rye, lightly toasted with Mayo is a fallback favorite but I also enjoy bacon egg and cheese on a good biscuit. The egg needs to be over easy though. need that yolk soaking into the biscuit. If I don't have a meat at the house and need a quick sandwich I'll do Tomato, Lettuce and a slice of cheese on white with mayo. Father in law called it a sloppy slurpy lol.

Depends on traffic which can be bad. From my house it 35 - 45 miles depending on the route I choose to downtown. I am close to 99 and the West Park tollway. Most days the ride in (leaving around 5:30a) it's 40 minutes down I10. On the way home if I leave by 3:30 I can be home in just under an hour. 4:00 is about 1.25 hours, 4:30 is a little more bur between 5:00 and 6:00 departure it would be 1.5.- 2 hours. That's the reason to go in early and leave early. I'm lucky to have that flexibility.

I had some pretty rough injuries when I was a kid. Sports and jumping out of trees and off roofs, motorcross and a few other things trashed my knees. I had a Dr tell me and my parents (when I was 17 mind you) that I would probably need a knee replacement by the time I was 40. Lived in Cleveland until I was 40 and during the cold winters I couldn't decide which leg to limp on first LOL. Moved to the Houston area when I was 40 and it's been substantially better. especially since there is only about 2 months of cold and wet weather instead of 5 or 6.

Unfortunately, it's something in the family line. All the way up to crippling arthritis. I do a lot of physical activities as well as stretching and physical therapy exercises for it. Yes, it's better but it will never go away.

I rarely go to the Dr. It's just a personal opinion that I'll leave at that. Went to one a couple of years ago, first time in 6 - 7 years, for pain in my shoulder when working over my head for an hour or more. Started happening when I was building a covered, gazebo type area in our back yard. Anyway, because I hadn't been in a long time he ordered a bunch of tests and x-rays of the shoulder, then decided to do both shoulders and my knees since they always hurt some. I go in for the results a couple of weeks later and he tells me about all my blood work being normal and he doesn't see anything wrong with me. I remind him I came in because of my shoulder. "Oh yeah, let's look at those x-rays. I see some arthritis", goes to the next one. "I see quite a bit of Arthritis." emphasizing arthritis a little. He gets to the 4th and 5th slides, looks at me and asks how old I am, "56". He responds with "Wow, I see a lot of Arthritis for your age. You never took it easy on your body, did you?". After a little laugh I told him "Live hard, die hard."

With the cost of Medical today it's not a stretch to say we are all $6 million people.

Loretta's got an Apple pie in the oven now and will be making a pumpkin roll. Thursday we have my youngest son, one of his neighbors and his wife since they have no family in the area. Friday and the weekend we will actually be celebrating Christmas with my oldest son, daughter in-law and the grandkids. Friday desert will be a peach cobbler. Can't wait for the left overs LOL.

Rode the bike to work this morning, 47 when I left the house. Still enjoyed the ride. Layers are important. Should be a gorgeous ride home at 70.

PUC got into the electric bikes when he decided not to ride anymore. I see him post occasionally on YouTube. I just went and checked and his last post was 2 years ago. Hope they are doing well.

Wow 6700, I sold my 06 with 106,000 for 5K 5 - 6 years ago.

I have the Ryobi also. Battery does good and it cuts well -- With a sharp blade. Biggest job it's done was some careful plunge cutting into a couple large stumps to prepare for burning them out. I don't have any other chainsaws as living I the city I haven't really needed them. Teh 2 hand axes I have work fine for what I do. 40 - 45 years ago my dad insisted I use a double sided ax. He was not going to spend money on a chain saw since he had a strong boy LOL. For limbing or trimming we had this old bow saw. That blade was a beast, almost lost a finger to it. We'd climb tree to cut limbs and I will never do that again.

Love Baseball but there's no love lost on these 2 teams. If the Yankees lose I just get to pick on more of my coworkers. LOL

The Houston TX area may set an unwelcomed record for Rainfall in October. We have not had any rain all month and none is predicted until Wednesday. only a 20% chance.

I have a 2018 (Gen 3) and I'm 5'7 on a good day. It actually fits well with the factory seats. I'm almost flat footed. I had a Gen 2, '06, and it was OK. 1 foot solid on the ground and one on the toes. That was also a factory seat. I bought that one second hand so I don't recall if it was ever 'lowered'.

That's a shame because that's a beautiful bike.

Agreed, great comparison. The 1st Gen was way ahead of its time, IMHO, and with better marketing I don't believe we would have seen the GW dominate in the metric tourer world. Even though I rode one for a year when I was 18-19 years old, I still feel it was the best bike I've ridden. I have the 2018 now and it does fit me better being short. I'd like to get a more comfortable seat for it but I'm too cheap. Planning an Iron Butt ride in early December so that may rattle my wallet loose. 🤪 BTW, that ride would be from Katy TX to the TX/NM boarder then down to Persidio, TX on 12/6. Saturday and Sunday will be more casual riding back to Katy.

We had something similar as a kid not sure it was sears or not. Had 2 sisters living on the same road and would mow all 3 lawns. When I was about 13 - 14 it stopped running. My dad looked at me and said the push mower worked. So it sat. each lot was about 1/2 acre and the houses were small 2 bedroom/1 bath ranches. Went from taking maybe a couple of hours to a large part of my Saturdays. I tried to fix it a couple of times with no luck because we could not afford the parts. What happens when I move out at 17, he fixes the darn thing. So glad I have YouTube university today.

Just had to swap mine a couple of weeks ago. Notices a little harder start and the park assist was slower than normal. This is the first battery I've put in. Bought it in April of 2019 from a dealer.

Hurricane Milton is heading for the Tampa Bay area. While the Tampa area did not suffer the level of destruction from Helene as others this will be a cat 3 storm when it hits. There is still a lot of debris lined up in the streets they are trying to get hauled away before it becomes projectiles in this storm. they are already saturated from continuing rains the last week or so. Flooding will be a major issue alone with the 115 - 125 mph winds. Mandatory evacuations have been issued for many counties along the Gulf coast. Tampa Bay has not seen a major storm since 1921, some say it's because of a blessing by Indian Tribes on local burial sites. Milton is going to affect the entire state in some form. We hope everyone stays safe as Milton hits/crosses the state.

BTW: Can someone please tell all these idiots hoarding toilet paper that WE DON'T IMPORT TOILET PAPER.

Several things to point out. A 62% pay hike over 6 years. That's more than 10% each year. I have a friend whose son works at the docks in Houston. He said he already makes well over 100K per year with OT. Using 100K as a starting point in 6 years with OT that would put him very close to if not over 200K per year. The Union leader trying to negotiate that made 900K last year. These types of increase will 100% be passed on to the consumer. Heck if I were 20 or so years younger, I would have crossed that picket line for those numbers. The only thing that will help stem these increases would be automation. Which the union is trying to block 100%. Some of the changes I've read about pensions are really up there too. Some wanted retirement available at 55 to pull from the pensions at 80% of their final 4 years of pay averaged out. As you can tell I am not a fan of unions. For what they did to my dad as well as to me. Myself I was associated to a union for all of 3 weeks when I was too stupid to know better.

That is definitely a unique bike. Time to get it ready for some shows, great job. IMHO the 1st gens were the best looking, but barely. The Gen 3s are great looking too.
