    The milage part should be based on 50 MPH, even at 75, after 14- to 18 hours in the saddle, divide your time but milage, most of the time it comes out at 50 mph. We did a ride from Ashville NC to Daytona Beach FL, took 5 of us 11 hours. divided by time. it still came out at 49.09 mph. but most of the day we were doing 75 mph Milage was 540 ?     Don't buy the yamaha line. I regret it. the wife & I have to yell into the mic's to talk to each other. the CB side of it works okay, But just okay

    What this guys are missing is that you don't think about the miles, you ride until you'd like to stop. don't push yourself, at a set mile. ride, stop have lunch, ride somemore, stop for dinner,. no rush, relax and enjoy the ride. In the saddle 29 years

    I'm going on a long trip the end of August, and I would like to be tracked, by both the wife & club members. looking for (in a word) a not so expensive unit. Plan on 6500. miles in 20 days

    I own a dodge ram, I get about 14-16 MPG, with a 26 gallon tank. Before gas rose, I'd fill it twice a week, @ $120.00, now gas is $86.00 a tank. The truck now sits more, and I ride the venture, to appointments, 38-41 is the best I can do. I'm looking at converting my truck to ethanol. I own it, paid it off a year ago, is it worth 1700. to convert. I'm in pain right now. forget pulling the work trailer, I pay for it to sit in a storage yard. People of the US. we're Screwed:confused24:

    had my goldwing up to 131. once the CBX 1050 up to 143. & the 07 venture up to 105. must have been the wind, it ws scary on this bike Now I like to ride like a turtle. SLOW

    Its a good thing there not using that money to do something useful, Like upgrade the Ventures, to include MP3/I-pods, instead of cassette players.

    I would have like to do this, but as for now, when the company business calls, It comes first. I hadn't replyed to this thread lately, as I know of a job, maybe getting started this week, a few days late, But I have to start saturday morning. the have to get tools dropped on the site., We're working monday.     Most people buy the bike because it offers a five year warranty. Its a play of words, they know its going to have the problems,, but they don't care, heres your five year warranty. You bought it , you own it. See Ya!!!!

    I don't know about you guys, But living In South Florida, I'm looking forward to winter already. I've already got my golden tan, and summer hasn't started yet. High in the 90's for the pasted 2 weeks.

    I too have the 07. I replaced the back tire at 12000., ( I replaced it with a Metzler ) I now have 18,000 on it, But I'm still running the bridgestone front tire. with almost no wear signs on it. (Except,........ there are no signs of chicken strips)

    If you running Brigestones on the bike, you may want to change them out before you leave. I have the 07, what a pair of S#%$#@& tires. Hydroplane all the time.

    Sawgrass expressway, got shut down, for 4 hours yesterday, for fires along the roadway. Took 2.5 hours to do an hour drive home.

    Going to meet with a rep, this week, at the local shop. I asked the service tec-to call me when he comes into town.

    Oh Hell NO!!!!! My 07 has been in the shop more times, in the pasted 1-1/2 years, then any car/or bike I've ever owned. Completed drive shaft change, re-grease hub 3 times already, oil leaks from somewhere under the kick stand. still hav'ent found that one. cessette player is a JOKE, whinning, chirps. I came off a Honda Goldwing, and the next bike will be any other Goldwing

    with a swivel hitch, you can still throw it into corners, but, once your into a turn your dedicated, don't try to apply hard on the brakes. if your on roads you've never been on, take it slow. and if riding with other, make sure your the last in the column. It will take longer for the to start and more time for you to stop, so, give yourself, a lot of room to do it in. load your trailer, with most of the weight, infront of the alex. watch your turns, just alittle wider then your used too. your trailer weight is about 190 Lbs. so gas milage will drop about 6 miles to the gallon.     lost milage here too. most of the stations in south florida now have 10%. Don't feel and difference, just lower gas milage.

    doing a small ride at the end of may, up to Saint Augine Florida for a Masons, Meet & Greet. then its off to the Americade, in Lake george NY,In june, then in August , up to Dog Patch, ark for a National Rally, up at the Hubb. for the Freemasons riding Club 3rd annual. Gee, I wish I could do some more riding:rotf:
